I'm guessing it was Grunt's birthday in that pic. :)

Vaseline.

No, really, some of the Alaskan National Guard (mostly native eskimo population) were training on a military base during winter with my father. He said the normal infantry were all geared up in winter gear, but the Alaskans were in the normal fatigues. He said they basically slathered their faces and arms in vaseline to protect against cold winds and they never complained once.

Or, you know, a parka. Big fluffy one.

No wait, I have this long, black wool coat that I wear in winter. It's the only time I can pull off looking badass.

I have a massive leather duster. I look terrifying with it, but by god it's warm

"the only word" by Leviathan-IX.

I really like this.  It's very emotional and atmospheric.

EDIT:  The artist asked me to update the picture, after he/she retouched it.

I like it York. Is it a reflection of her emotions that she keeps buried?

I think it's how her body isn't detailed in such a way that we can tell which way she's facing, while the way she has her head positioned tells the eye and the brain that she's facing away from the viewer, looking over her shoulder.

Jack fans, I pose to you a question.

I was looking over some details about biotics and I was wondering if Jack's biotics would be more "focused" due to her training, or would her powers be raw, wild and all over the place? She certainly has power, there's no doubt about that. But would it be focused or would she be all over the place with that power?

I don't know who said it (it might have been Pacifien), but someone said that watching Jack use her biotics in a fight would be like watching a dancer.  They went on to say that watching Samara use her biotics in a fight would be like watching a painter paint.

That do anything for you?

So Jack's a certain...artistry about her powers, a sort of flare? I suppose that helped a little, but not a whole lot. Not to diminish your contribution. Image IPB

Think someone might be able to find me that page/link to that conversation?

I don't know for sure, but I know I took the renegade sex option one time before her loyalty mission.  And IIRC the paragon route starts when you decline the renegade one.

Yeah basically you can.  Just make sure you agree to give her the files while on Purgatory and follow through during the cutscene on the Normandy despite what Miranda says. Keep going down and visiting her every chance you get.

It's difficult to determine how Jack would use her powers.  On the one hand, she never learned control over her powers through careful discipline, patience and training, as human biotic children at Grissom Academy do.  On the other hand, watching Jack's biotic acrobatics, failing to be precise with her powers could kill her, or at the very least break several limbs.  The fact that she's so powerful makes things even more delicate for her.  In addition, Jack's still alive because of her survival instincts, her smarts, and her biotics.  If she didn't know how to use them properly, deliberately, and with control, she'd probably be dead.

Sticking to Paragon options will work, but they can be a little (sometimes a lot) awkward. My preference for going through the romance is roughly a  split between Paragon and Neutral options, with a few Renegade options thrown in which I know produce good dialog. There are cases where Jack prefers the Renegade dialog to the Paragon. It's tough to tell with the paraphrases exactly how things will play out, but if you stick mostly Paragon/Neutral you should be happy with the progress. The only way you can really botch up the romance is to take the renegade sex option (you'll know it when you come to it) or siding with Miranda in their fight... outside of that (far as I can remember) no renegade options will end it so you can feel safe choosing whatever you want. Except for the Renegade option during the final scene before the mission, DEFINITELY don't choose that one.

As for Jack's biotic style, it's pretty common to equate her to a wrecking ball. Wind her up and let her go blast the bad guys into tiny pieces with brute force (I just made myself sad typing that, makes it sound like how she was used after her escape). I think it's accurate to say that's her mentality going about a fight, but her actual use of biotics has to be more technical and precise than we usually give her credit for. I think the dancer metaphor is a good one, and you can tell she can use her biotics precisely by her Warp Ammo power... it definitely takes precision to wrap each bullet in a biotic field. Plus we saw how athletic/graceful she can be with her powers in her Shadow Broker video.

To slightly alter the dancer metaphor, I would say that Jack is a street dancer, while Samara is a ball room dancer. One utilizes swift, violent, and explosive moves while the other utilizes eloquent, precise, and graceful moves.

Errr....did that make any sense?

Thanks for the feedback you guys. The reason I asked was because I was considering how to upgrade my adept's Warp to heavy or unstable.

Unstable made me think of an erratic, slightly chaotic and unfocused biotic feel that sort of..."leaks" and can't keep its shape very well, hence the area of effect. I thought that, if she had the option, Jack might have some unstable abilities. It made sense in my head. Then I thought a little more about it and wanted to come ask some fellows a whole lot more about Jack than I would.

Thanks.
