There's definitely some significance there, but I don't think it's of any romantic kind.

I don't think Jack would have let Shepard into that room if she hated him/her. So perhaps that's her way of saying that she's coming around, you know?

I'm not saying it has romantic significance. I'm saying that it seems like it has general significance to her character. As far as Jack's concerned, the only good things that ever happened to her during her time at Pragia was when she was left alone in that room, because at least she wasn't being operated on, or forced to fight other children. At least she was alone, with her only friends, the inanimate objects. Letting someone else walk in to that room might show us that there's something more to Jack than meets the eye.

I wanted to say yes and no, but after pondering about it for a few, I would say definitely "yes". At first my thoughts were, "Sort of, after all she wanted to put the bomb in her room, therefore blowing up her "Safe memories" as well. But she didn't need Shepard in there while she did it. She could have kept her secrets and maintained her "Wall" around herself. So my opinion has changed.yorkj86 wrote...

I think the significance lies in her openness about her emotions for those inanimate objects at the time she was incarcerated. I enjoyed how the writers did the reminiscing scene in her bedroom. As hard as Cerberus tried to turn her into a weapon, they could not strip away her humanity. Damage it yes, but not destroy it. I don't know, in my mind blowing up the Teltin facility, although it was abandoned was her way of killing that proverbial monster in the closet.
Okay. But you don't think it's at all significant that she would let someone else walk in to that room? To me, it seems revealing. It really was the only safe place she had at Pragia, and that's not saying much.

I kinda got that, but I like driving it home just how much I dislike her romance build-up and that.
In my opinion, when she blew that facility up, she was finally letting go of the childhood she never really had. It's possible she felt weak there, and just needed support. Even if she didn't really trust Shepard.

Anyway, it occurred to me after I heard it that it makes quite alot of sense for Jack. While garrus with his calibrations and so on doesn't make that much sense before/after the Omega mission, at least Jack's makes sense for before Omega.

Garrus, on the other hand, should be reminiscing up a storm with Shepard. That's why the "Calibrations" stonewall sucks so damn much.
EDIT: Ah, well, yeah, Garrus has the extra line for his romance, but I meant before then, when you're just trying to talk to him, even if you're not romancing him. Jack, on the other hand, will remain a private person, even apart from the romance.

I rolled back a couple of saves, trying to figure it out, and apparently the trigger (in my case) was doing a loyalty mission before hers. I tried rolling back to the save that worked (which was before I did any loyalty missions) and did a loyalty mission then Jack's mission immediately afterward, and the bug came back. Maybe jumping straight from the mission trigger dialogue to the mission proper would work, but I'm not sure on that one. Sidequests don't seem to affect it.
So... yeah. In case anyone else ever has that problem, maybe try that.

Here's a comic where, among other things, Jack gives FemShep a bloody nose for trying to talk her up. It's pretty funny
I dunno. I asked the artist the same question. She's wild and crazy Jack?

I love Jack's character, but isn't Jack (almost) always wild and crazy Jack?yorkj86 wrote...

1. Jack is riddled with surgical scars (that stripe running down her back? Yup. Scar. Use that as a reference and off you go...)
2. Jack has ass cleavage.
Anyway, done with my (second) soldier runthrough, now for my adept (and by extension Garrus) to get some love.

I love that the Jack fanbase has this much dedication to its own members. It's a process of appreciation of her character that feeds itself.
You've both really outdone yourselves.

I think an important thing to remember about any epilogues for Jack is that her lifespan is quite limited; her biotics are destroying her brain, or something.
We don't really know how the neural degeneration will affect her, though. For Kaidan, it only gives him headaches. Jack's biotics are causing her neural degeneration, but all human biotics experience neural degeneration, because, quite simply, humans aren't meant to be biotics. However, Jack is unique because, as her neural degeneration progresses, her powers are becoming stronger, and not weaker, which might imply that she will become more powerful, but more unstable, as she gets older.
EDIT:
@FenrisDeSolar: Here you go.

I should point out that as much as Epants likes to call me amazing, she's much more awesome. Her art made this little project as grand as I at least think it is
Yeah, there is a reference to the ugly little story in Candy here, but as to where it fits in my story chronology, you'll see come the conclusion. It's kinda obvious
As for Jack's biotics and shortened life expectancy, it's still only supposition insofar as far as her lifespan. The neural degeneration that is mentioned is a side effect all human biotics suffer - it doesn't mention anywhere in the backstory material for the universe that said neural degeneration is fatal, though we can safely assume it can't be all punch and cookies (we know that the side effects of biotic enhancement in humans ranges from migraines to brain cancer). The main effect we know of is that biotic ability weakens over time because of it. In Jack though, the opposite is true - her power is increasing despite the neural degeneration.
EDIT: Ah, and there's York - we both got it in now
