For those two of you reading it, I've added another chapter to Intermezzo.
You can find it, here.
Or, if you rather bigger type and a white background, you can read it here.

Okay, this is going to take longer than I thought, because I haven't read any of your fanfic, Jake. I still don't have an idea of what's going on...
Sorry, York. The whole thing's in my "blog". It's not Mondo or Urdaniel-level stuff, but it doesn't suck that hard. I have this proclivity - and I still can't figure out why - to post new stuff following something that just crushes it for anyone's attention. So no one ever reads it because they simply never notice.
It's kinda like being the local band that opens for huge arena-packer.
After a while, you just get used to it and do it anyhoo. Someone's reading it, and that's cool enough.

Epantiras, I'm afraid that that last page might have been too good, and the writers, having maybe seen your comic, will think, "Well, her story's wrapped up. Time to make her disappear."
i hope not !

If she disappears into the sunset with Shep, I can live with that... who doesn't want their darlings to spread their wings and live happily ever after?
Though at the end of the day, there are a lot of Shepards that will have Jack as a comrade as opposed to a lover, so for those Jacks... thay can't do that without a lot of people declaring BioWare have officially "lost the plot"
Whatever the case, Jack is unlikely to go quietly anywhere....

And that's one reason we like her. Makes me wonder how she would function on an infiltration mission. Surely, she's learned to sneak around to survive.

KABOOOOM!!
Shepard: "Which part of infiltration you did not understand?"
Jack: "F*ck you Shepard, I'm having some fun!"
Grunt: "She's tearing this place apart! I LIKE HER!"

EDIT: Here's another question - "If Jack were brought up on charges for crimes she committed in her past, what would your Shepard do?"

Forgiveness I'll have to think about, but the second one is easy for me. She's done (and hopefully doing in ME3) her community service by saving the universe. Yeah, she's done really bad stuff, but saving the universe counts as really good stuff. Clean slate; if she goes on a rampage again, then you can lock her up.yorkj86 wrote...
Someone asked this rather thought-provoking question elsewhere - "How much of what Jack has done in her past can you forgive? Why?"
EDIT: Here's another question - "If Jack were brought up on charges for crimes she committed in her past, what would your Shepard do?"
Edit: So more specifically what my Shepard would actually do is argue that point, and if they insist on bringing her in... "GTFO, I'm Shepard, I'm still a Spectre, good luck locking up my girl." Immediately following would be some combination of guns, explosives, biotics, and the Normandy depending on what kind of fight they want to put up. (At this point my Shepard feels a little entitled to break rules)

At best they'd just want someone like Jack far away in the Terminus Systems where crime is openly allowed.

Also, how many heroic acts must be performed by an individual to be forgiven for a life of crime?

Which is why my Shepard would feel entitled to disregard their opinion if it came to that. Their ignorance to what's really been going on doesn't change... what's really been going on.yorkj86 wrote...
Most of the galaxy doesn't seem to be able to care less about what Shepard & Friends are doing to stop the Reapers. The only organizations doing anything about the Reapers are on the fringe. One of them is considered by most people to be extremist, and dangerous. I wouldn't really expect courts to be understanding of Jack's efforts until the Councillors stop hand-waving the existence of the Reapers. Even then, Shepard would be appealing to many different jurisdictions and bodies of law.
Also, how many heroic acts must be performed by an individual to be forgiven for a life of crime?
And when the heroic act is risking your life almost continuously and voluntarily going on a "suicide mission" to save the galaxy... it just takes the one. As adriano pointed out though, I am operating under the assumption that Jack wasn't out slaughtering innocents for giggles. Despite the lack of clarity regarding her past, that's a very safe assumption, I think... she does undoubtedly have a concept of morality. Her killing and mayhem seems more practical than malicious.

Jack's been imprisoned in the past before, though, and not only because of Cerberus (or maybe not? We don't know). Apparently, courts weren't willing to forgive her for her actions, considering her past, or she wasn't able to properly defend herself in court.
I, personally, could forgive Jack for everything she's done, provided that no criminal act she committed ever intentionally resulted in the injury or death of undeserving individuals, and as long as that criminal act wasn't done for her own pleasure.

What? She never said anything like that. Where'd that come from?yorkj86 wrote...
Does anyone remember Jack saying anything about accidentally injuring a child when she hijacked a military vehicle during a parade? The child later died, in the hospital, of its injuries. I don't remember her saying anything like that...
