Maybe, but not really. We have a ship full of whackjobs. It's almost a contest to see who can one up the other in terms of over-the-top-ness.

I think a human scientist who also has military tactical knowledge of a seasoned veteran and the physical prowess to back it up comes across as over the top. Or a deeply religious assassin with an incurable disease and a death wish.

Or the one-man army who once saved the galaxy from genocidal machines and came back to life after being blown up.

Back on Jack. If Jack's background wasn't over the top, she'd have been overshadowed by the other crewmembers.

Who's this?

As for Jack. No more so than any of the other characters. It's standard fare.

Absolutely. If it weren't, she'd have no business being in the game. To stop the Collectors, we need to recruit the best, the brightest, the baddest and the boldest. Not the so-okay-they're-averagest. They can't have a good resume. They have to have the most insane resume you've ever seen.

I think we can all agree in this thread that almost every single character in both ME games was written over the top. It's what makes these games so fun. Whomever singled Jack out in the first place was being a trifle silly with their own biases.

That was one of the reasons why I used to be skeptical towards ME2 before buying it. Every character was so over the top that I was worried in the end none of them would have been interesting.

Filpping it around: Commander Shepard came back from the dead. In a 'hard science' setting, nothing is going to top that for sheer OTT'ness

Hey there fellow Jack fans, figured I would share a pic of SuZe a character I created and played on the now dead mmo APB (no longer running).

Posted Image

I was going for the DLC outfit look, this pic was taken before I got the vest that was closest to the one she has in that outfit and I never got round to doing her chest tattoo as I was waiting to unlock the bone symbol tattoo to help do that part of it. Both arms were done though with only a few tats missing from them. I've got a few more pics on my HD but can't get to them at moment as sys reg file corrupted (hopefully the pic files aren't).

Was fun playing as SuZe, she liked blowing things up (even herself in what I labelled as 'SuZecide' ) I had people recognising who she was, so *shrugs* maybe some of you played it and saw her around.

That looks good, Ulrich.  You're not the only person who's thought that Jack would look good in APB.

Neat, kind of funny too because when I first started playing as her I had it in my mind I'd stick with the guns she used in ME2, but then I finally succumbed to using the 'Undertaker' SMG after someone gave me one for free. Was fun because I even talked in character as though I imagined Jack would, calling all the Enforcers either ****s or cheerleaders (depending on whether they were male or female) :D

I just wish I could've finished her tattoos and the outfit (was just missing the boots). Was definitly a perfect game to have Jack in it.

I really do hope Jack is back in ME3, I think there is still so much to explore with her character. I've got two Sheps that LIed her, one cheated on Ash with her and one was a default ME2 Shep, whom sadly had to watch her die because he didn't trust Cerberus and thus never spoke to Jacob about the Armor upgrade. Am thinking of re-rolling that one though and ensuring she lives and am intrigued as to how they'll handle the whole 'cheating' side of things. I've not played LotSB yet but I've heard Liara can comment if she is cheated on and the mission is done post-suicide, so has me wondering if they'll handle it same way for the VS.

Main reason why I looking to re-roll my other Shep that romanced her is because he is a Colonist/Sole Survivor, so he feels a bit of a bond with Jack. Although am not sure, because out of all the potential LI deaths in the mission I think that one sticks out as the most where Shep gets to show some real emotion for her death. If I do stick with it I'll probably create another Shep that is a pure-Jack romance where she survives because she is one of my favourites. Love using her and Jacob as squaddies especially on Grunt's recruitment mission when can send the Krogan flying off the gangways using Jacob and Jack as a combo attack with pull and throw after Shep has removed their armor.

I liked Jack in Grunt's recruitment mission; she said exactly what I was thinking when I heard her mutter 'I already want to kill this woman' or something along those lines right at the start

Alright, page 666 in the Jack thread! :D

Anyway, here's what she might look like with hair:

Or, at least, what a good haircut would be on her.

Can anyone do the modeling for that?

Jack probably thought that she was on a power-trip, which she was.  I'd like to hear what Jack has to say about everyone Shepard & Friends fight.

When Shepard woke up the first time, Miranda had told Wilson that his calculations regarding how much sedatives Shep required were off. I suppose that's a hint.

Like her view of Captain Enyala
"I like her, are we still recruiting?" :D

I like Miranda, but that line was priceless and totally in form.

Well I can't say she doesn't look hot...because she does. but it's her face and the pose, not the hair...sorry.  Not that the hairstyle looks bad on her but it kind of conflicts with her personality and character as much as I understand her.

I don't have any modding experience sorry otherwise I would have been happy to help.

I posted it here because saw it in the motivational thread, and remembered the conversation on it.

I still can't figure out what it's from though.

The conversation that brought up that picture or where the cut-scene is from? Only thing I can possibly think of is Garrus loyalty when meet the Volus or recruiting Samara.

The conversation about the pic was most likely one of the ones about her getting hair in ME3.

If latter, am not sure, it definitly isn't her loyalty mission as background is too bright and she's wearing her loyalty outfit (unless it PC version and someone modded it). Don't think it's Miranda's as closest could get to that is the Enyala scene and in that one Shep is stood real close to her along with Miranda.

That's actually from the Subject Zero confessional ad, where she's wearing her loyalty outfit on her loyalty mission. She's drawing down on Aresh in her old cell.

Jesus, how do I know that? I've played this game too much.

She mentions (uses the same voice files) if you ask her about her tats and stuff in the cargo hold, in one of her early (1st or second iirc, think it's the first) dialogues with her.

If I remember correctly, it's in the conversation where Shepard asks her about her tats.

If Jack should have hair, it should be like a pixie cut or something. Short, so that it doesn't cover her amazing face.

On a side note, I published a short Jack-story a long while back, and now I've added a second part.

It's not genius, like Mondo's stuff... But it contains Jack.

I liked that.  It's a little schmaltzy but well-written, emotional, and revealing of Jack.  I don't think it'll ever stop being odd to read someone writing Jack saying the "love" word, though.
