Does anyone think that Jack would be big enough to put aside her disdain for some Shepard's, and agree to help him/her defeat the reapers. I'd like to think she could (biased), but when trying to envision how her relationship with these Shepard's would evolve in me3, I couldn't come up with much.

I think she would, especially if you romanced her

Here's something from the Dragon Age forums social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/5743963%26lf%3D8#5746484

Of course. Different creative teams completely. I wish I
could use expletives like the ME team can-- but a post-modern setting
allows for very different things (and comes with its own limitations, I
suppose).

And Jack was ****ing awesome.

Hmm. Looking back, I can't even recall the profanity being that excessive. Certainly not to the levels that some people would lead you to believe (every other word or something).

Yeah, she dropped like what, four f-bombs the entire game?

Maybe a bit more than four, but they were still "context appropriate".

BTW I'm playing The Longest Journey (old point and click adventure) right now and I managed to get one of the npcs really pissed off and he said the f-word about 10 times in a single sentence ;-) nobody ever complained about that.

Let me guess- that npc is not bald and covered with tattoos? ;)

On the other hand- I was a bit shocked when I played polish version of ME1. They made Wrex sound like a redneck, cursing in almost every sentence, which was weird because he didn't do that in the original version. Well, overeager localization team?

To be honest Jack's use of the f word never struck me the same way Aria's did. "Don't **** with Aria" was said so...deliberately, like she was going for shock value. Never got that vibe from Jack.

My favorite Jack Fu moment is:
"So **** you. And thanks for asking."

I just love it every single playtrough!

Seconded.

And as for Gaider's comment, I know it's ridiculous but a small part of me doesn't like seeing a Bioware employee (granted on a different team) say Jack was awesome. I'd just rather see the word is

I don't know how much communication there is between the teams if he'd even have the slightest idea whether or not she was coming back... I'd just rather avoid past-tense. If one of us was talking about Jack, we'd say "Jack is awesome!" but if he happens to know their plans for ME3 don't include Jack... it seems like "was" would slip in pretty easily.

Over-analyzed a single linking verb to the max. Can't help it.

The question I was trying to ask was if we thought Jack would help douchebag Shep?

I don't know, even if Shepard is a douchebag, he's where the action is at. Jack will not be wanting for a good fight so long as she hangs with him, and so long as he doesn't speak to her, all the better. Plus, if he's still hanging with Cerberus, easier for her to find her targets if she's still looking for a little closure.

Even I'll use was/is depending on if I'm thinking of Jack is the past/present tense.

I'd suggest not over-analyzing. Gaider works on the Dragon Age story, and I've never seen any indication that he's helped/helping with Mass Effect's story. I remember reading Chris L'Etoile talking about purchasing Dragon Age: Origins, and he made it sound like it was just as new an experience for him as it would be for us in spite of having worked for the same company on a different game.

The problem I think people have with developer comments is thinking they choose every single word they ever post with the utmost care. I don't think they do, I think they post just the way any other forumite does unless someone asks them directly for details about what they're working on. Even then, I wouldn't say they analyze every word. :P

Cool that Gaider likes Jack, though.

Don't get me wrong, I know it's not right to even consider that it means anything. It was just a thought that popped into my head when I read it, precisely because off-handedly referring to her in the past-tense, because you know she isn't coming back, wouldn't be choosing words deliberately.

Just something that's going to irrationally bug me in the absence of any other information =]

So, I return to this thread, and again I carry a new chapter of Jack.

The link goes straight to the third part, but it doesn't matter if you've not read part one or two, as it's not a story as such. It's a collection of one-shots in a way.

I like the attention you pay to details.  You retread some familiar ground, when discussing Jack's tattoos and their significance to her.  When you mention the little things Shepard does for her, and to her, to make her happy, that makes it unique.  The seemingly insignificant things have significant meaning.

I'm glad you like it, York.

I like talking about the things that I think matter to Jack. It makes her a person, instead of a project, and that's important, I think. A lot of people still fail to see beyond the obvious. They get caught on the tattoos, the the make-up, the lack of hair. They never even think about why things are as they are.

That annoys me. Jack is a wonderfully complex character beneath everything, and the one, out of all the ME squad-mates, who feels the most human.

Following the trend, I've added a chapter to my story on Jack and Shep to my blog, so all y'all's that were reading it - enjoy.  You can also find it on FanFiction.net, under the moniker of "Errationatus2".

Feel free to bash.

I've been playing FEAR.  There are some similarities between Alma and Jack, mainly in that they were both subjected to horrific, amoral experimentation.  Jack with Alma's psychic powers, in addition to her own biotic powers, would be terrifying.

I wonder if Bioware would be so bold as to do to Jack, what the scientists did to Alma, and her relation to the Point Man (if you've played the game, you know what I'm talking about).  I'm not talking about Shepard, obviously.

I think Alma is justified in doing what she does.

Also, that ending, man, that ending.  "What was that sound?"

You need to play Project Origin then, York.  You might change your mind.

That's FEAR 2, right?  I don't see why I would change my mind, unless the game retcons practically everything about the first game, in which case, I wouldn't be interested in playing it, anyway.

It ignores the two expansion packs, but the ending defiantely got a '....aaaargggh! Dx @.@ ' nding from alot of people I know. Mine was just '...oh. o.o'. Sadly I didn't find it as scary overall though.

Anyway, I don't see Jack forgetting that sort of thing, and I think it would be hitting Critical Cliché Mass for her character. Hell, honestly she already *is* a massive cliché (along with quite a few of the others such as Miranda or Grunt or Garrus or even Shepard) but there's a limit, ya know?
