It ignores the two expansion packs, but the ending defiantely got a '....aaaargggh! Dx @.@ ' nding from alot of people I know. Mine was just '...oh. o.o'. Sadly I didn't find it as scary overall though.

Anyway, I don't see Jack forgetting that sort of thing, and I think it would be hitting Critical Cliché Mass for her character. Hell, honestly she already *is* a massive cliché (along with quite a few of the others such as Miranda or Grunt or Garrus or even Shepard) but there's a limit, ya know?

Oh, I know the ending of FEAR 2, already, and I think it's kind of silly.  You'd think that, after the first two traumatic times, Alma would be off that sort of thing   Anyway, I just want to find out more about Alma's character.

And yeah, it would be a bit much, for Jack's character.  I was just wondering about how it would work out.

Having not played FEAR, I have absolutely no idea of what you're talking about ;-)

I found FEAR 2 boring and predictable.

FEAR1 is far more interesting.

But neither scary.

The FEAR games thrive on cheap bus-scares and sub Jacob's Ladder wigouts, so their horror element is not all that fantastic, but I did find them fun (unlike Flashlight3, I mean Doom3). The end of FEAR 2 though had me in stitches. Part of me was cringing inside at how facepalmingly 80's horror it was, and at the same time I was oddly celebrating a female monster screwing over the audience (ho ho ho). Laughing my ass off, I swear. It was like FPS games going all angry knifewielding radical feminist revenge on a medium that flounders in teenage-male dominion and phallic imagery gone monumental and ballistic.

Oh, and hi guys ;)

Holy butts, it's Mondo!

You didn't like the psychic visions?  They freaked me out pretty good, especially the ones that took place in the hospital hallway.  The ones where you just get jumped by the apparitions were kind of lame, I agree.  I did like the atmosphere of FEAR.  I think it did atmosphere better than Doom 3 did it.

And I don't even know what to say about the last part of your post   Just like I didn't know what to think about the end of FEAR 2.  Was it misogynist, or feminist...?

This is the true way FEAR should have been told.  link

Honestly, Jack and this Alma kid are two different people even if they share the commonality that they've been experimented on - although I'd like to think Jack had the worst of it and still had the capacity to move on from her childhood trauma.

Alma never appealed to me since she resembles and shares a similar modus operandi with Sadako from the Ring series [kill the people responsible for hurting her, find a way to be reborn, etc].

Yeah, I was reaching, in terms of similarities.  I just wanted to say that Alma reminded me a little of Jack, is all.

If Jack never got a grip on her own sanity and never grew beyond acting on destructive urges, I think she might've turned out something similar to Alma. Living inside Teltin, never journeying past the facility walls.... Running around with the varren.

Huh.

In the PS3 version of ME2 Jack's line, "So f*** you, and thanks for asking."

has been shortened to just "Thanks for asking."

Wonder why.

That does seem like an odd thing to filter...does it filter all the other times we swears?

Maybe they're listening to all the people who say they found Jack's behavior too off-putting when all their Shepard wanted to do was be her friend. **** 'em if they can't handle Jack the way she is, though.

Yeah I had to reload to make sure heard it right, don't get why they did that all.

But so far that's the only line I've found that was just taken out like that.

But... that's like ... one of my favourite lines!

Why the hell would they filter that!?

What. Cutting out Jack's cussing isn't going to net people any additional non-romance conversations with her. Maybe Bioware's trying to pull a reverse "Mature games for mature gamers such as myself" maneuver. Maybe she's just too "90's Extreme". I'm tired.

Didn't think of that.

Need to recruit her again and see if they took all her insults directed at Shep.

It's Jack!  Being surprised at her rudeness is like being surprised at the Sun rising in the morning.

Anyway.  Will this change carry in to ME3, if Jack is in the game?  Will she be less abrasive?

Hold on a second! I remember one of us said that the line gets shortened to "Thanks for asking" if you do her loyalty mission before getting that dialogue line. Anyone remember that?
