Is it even possible to get to that point before you do her LM?Epantiras wrote...

Huh.
In the PS3 version of ME2 Jack's line, "So f*** you, and thanks for asking."
has been shortened to just "Thanks for asking."
Wonder why.
Hold on a second! I remember one of us said that the line gets shortened to "Thanks for asking" if you do her loyalty mission before getting that dialogue line. Anyone remember that?

I've
found that sometimes she drops the "So f*ck you," and just says "Thanks

doesn't sound like the sound dropping out, but a completely different
line of dialogue.
Finish her loyalty mission before talking to her/ talking to her for a second time. It happens, then.

Monolith did say they were gunning for a John Woo film+The Ring style game so that's hardly a shock. I have to say I really did enjoy FEAR1-the gunfights were fun, the restricted weapon spacing really made things interesting and it actually had some genuinely scary moments (The second office level for example had me so wound up from the sheer lack of combat for example), something many 'scary' games can't seriously boast..axl99 wrote...Alma never appealed to me since she resembles and shares a similar modus operandi with Sadako from the Ring series [kill the people responsible for hurting her, find a way to be reborn, etc].
...I wonder if Jack watches horror films. I wonder what genre she likes. Her life is one big action film so I'm not sure she'd bother with those.

Don't worry ;-) I remember reading that Bioware DID make some gameplay changes in the PS3 version (less hacking minigames for example) so I think it's quite natural to fear that they've done changes to dialogues too.

Oh thank God! I was worried that the nefarious terrorist organization "Shepard is God" (SiG) struck again, removing any resistance to worshiping Shepard's god-like godliness. Was worried there for a minute. And by minute I mean "length of time neccessary to organize an aerial strike..."

Anyway. Will this change carry in to ME3, if Jack is in the game? Will she be less abrasive?
I wouldn't mind if she became slightly less abrasive in ME3. But that'd be mostly from a character development perspective. If she knows or is romancing Shepard, then it's no unreasonable to imaigne she'd be marginally nicer to him in my opinion.

EPIC FAIL
or maybe SuZe was intentionally named after TIM. OR MAYBE both Suze and TIM were named after JACK SPARROW.
Seriously speaking, I doubt Bioware has decided to give the same name to two different characters WITHOUT a real reason for doing so. It's like... Shepard meeting someone else whose name is Shepard.

Well, considering how many times I've gone through the game, I can add that in the PC version, Jack has knocked the pottymouth off on that line for me also. It's only happened a couple of times, and on both occasions it was with a Femme-Shep, so I assumed it was a deliberate attempt to demonstrate her trying to be a little more respectful to someone she considers worthy of a little respect. Both Sheps involved were hardnoses that weren't very interested in her posturing - that's the only connecting factors I can think of... but it certainly did happen for me too.
I've played ME2 only twice, I feel like a n00b compared to you people ;-)
I played with a male and a female Shepard and in both cases I got the "so **** you and thanks for asking" line - and in both cases I did her loyalty missions after.

The FEAR games thrive on cheap bus-scares and sub Jacob's Ladder wigouts, so their horror element is not all that fantastic, but I did find them fun (unlike Flashlight3, I mean Doom3). The end of FEAR 2 though had me in stitches. Part of me was cringing inside at how facepalmingly 80's horror it was, and at the same time I was oddly celebrating a female monster screwing over the audience (ho ho ho). Laughing my ass off, I swear. It was like FPS games going all angry knifewielding radical feminist revenge on a medium that flounders in teenage-male dominion and phallic imagery gone monumental and ballistic.
Oh, and hi guys
This is the true way FEAR should have been told. link
Lmao, YES!
But on a more serious note:
While I did like FEAR and kinda liked FEAR 2, if you guys are fans of true horror you should try Amnesia: The Dark Descent or the Penumbra series; that is true video game horror. FEAR has nice cutscenes, but it isn't very scary by comparison; it's more of a shooter than a horror game.

I wouldn't mind if she's less abrasive in ME3, if you romanced her, but only a very little teeny weeny itty biddy teensy weensy tiny bit less abrasive; I find her abrasive-ness attractive.

It's called "character design". Bioware won't make Jack's hair grow and won't fix Legion's hole. It's like fixing the missing nose of the Great Sphinx of Giza or attaching limbs to the Venus de Milo! It's "flaws" that make us unique (but can you really call them flaws?).

I do not think I could disagree with your analogy more! (She said in respectful, jocular manner).
The lack of arms on the Venus de Milo/nose on the Sphinx are the results of accidents/weathering/mysteries (similar to Legion's hole though, true). Jack's lack of hair is none of the above. Her hairstyle was a conscious decision on her part, like Da Vinci's giving the Mona Lisa a tiny smile. Giving Jack hair would be like painting a grin on the Mona Lisa...because it's too hard to tell what she's feeling as it is and WE MUST KNOW.
Seriously, other people that think Jack's hair is a personal affront, how do you feel IRL when your coworkers get a new hairstyle you don't approve of? <_<
#17274
Posté 21 janvier 2011 - 02:27
My personal preference, of course, would be for Jack to keep the hairstyle as is. It's distinctive, it's different, it's just a bold look. That, and adding hair later on would just strike me as placating people who couldn't "get over a woman being bald" or some such. Not to mention that as representative of a symbolic emotional shift (to a kinder, gentler Jack) it'd be corny.
