I see your rendition of Portal as Jack being the protagonist is finished, axl.  I see where the Blackstorm Projector concept came from now.:P

Actually, it's really just a third finished. I've yet to put in some awesome stuff in the background.

Maybe the ME universe is draconian, then.[smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png[/smilie]

Nah, that probably has more about an asari needing to make a cheap shot after the (and let's face facts here) thousands of cheap shots her species has had to take just that morning...

"I was just waiting for you to get dressed... or does Cerberus let you whore around in that outfit?"

"Coming from evolutionary fanservice, that's rich... how many centuries did you waste wearing less for small change from desperate, sad aliens... spending your mornings trying to rinse off the greasy fingermarks on your rubber thong or get the saliva out of your navel... the sheer soul-crushing tedium of knowing everyone in the audience sees you as barely a step above a Mighty-Meal from the Fishdog Food Factory in worth - never to know you, never to care, only wanting you to embrace them for eternity... or four minutes if you're lucky. And you say I'm a whore for dressing like this? At least I got this out of the wardrobe myself this moring - I didn't settle for being one on someone else's terms. For a couple of hundred years."

"... ok, give her the kid, I'm going to go home and shoot myself."

Aw come on Mondo, admit it.  She said that because that's what she looks like.

This motivatational that you made below is pretty spot on.

If I had any sort of writing ability, like at all, I'd love to try writing a fanfic about Jack's mom, wouldn't be the most flattering portrayal though. Or one about Tali during the engineering debacle, personally I think she's down in Jack's lair crying her heart out, and Jack can't find the strength to tell her to get the **** out, and ends up awkwardly comforting her instead.

Well this took longer than I thought.

Good Job Loki, I LMAO when Jack walked in wearing her biker outfit (sans shades). A lot happier/uplifting than I was expecting, we needed that here.

Does anyone have a collection of Fanfiction for Jack?

That actually sounded like a good idea for a sub quest in ME3. On Earth Jack requests to find her mum. It could add more depth.

That was really good, Loki. In the past, whenever I tried to imagine Jack's family, Jack's reaction to finding out about her family, and her family's reaction to finding out Jack, it was all just too much to plan out, but you did it very well.

Glad you guys liked it. A useless peice of trivia is all the sibling's names (except Steve/Nathan) are names I use for my Shepards. Rachel's the vanguard, Rebekka's the vanguard MK II, Adrian's the solder (and half-life nod) and Susan's the engineer.

...I think. I know I had jack do that outfit so she'd look 'presentable' since as we've fan-wa**ed before, she probably does the belt-bra to intimidate/put people off, which is the last thing she'd want to do here. Still. Fangirl in the family. That's going to be annoying for Jack. ("Back off. He's mine!" and everything. :P )

Posted Image  It's as sad and depressing as I knew it would be.  Let's avoid this in ME3, shall we?

So I take it I'm in the minority when I say I want a twisted, heart-wrenching conclusion to the Jack romance in ME3?

/delurk

Hmmm..... There are a couple of romances in the ME-universe that I sort of expect to end happily, this is just my imagination  ^_^    I see Tali, Liara, Kaidan, Miranda and Ash as the more happily ever after ones. Then Jack and Thane to balance out all the sugar over dose with a beautiful romance that can't go on forever, think Titanic or P.S. I love you.
Still want my hopefully sugar ending with Kaidan, yay for hopeless romantic  :wizard:  but I would like to see different types of romantic stories play out and for me Jack has a wonderful and deep tragic lovestory written all over her. It would make my shepards heart hurt like nothing else  ( and we know the writers like to hurt us  =)   )    So yes, I would like to play it. And cry like a baby in the end.

Switch Tali and Jack around and I'd agree with you.  I don't see Tali and Shep ending well.  Not a horrible ending, more of a Casablanca one.  Because a happy ending involves either him living in a suit for the rest of hs days on the Quarian homeworld, or her abandoning her people.  Neither of which I can see happening.  The problems of a marine and a girl with a fishbowl on her head don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world...

But Jack?  What would have been the point of including her in the first place if her story was going to end badly?  Her life is terrible only for it to pick up a little bit and then plummet again?   Yeah, it'd be realistic, but I don't play games with blue underwear models and Giant Kller Robotic Squid From Beyond the Stars for realism.  No one watches The Shawshank Redemption to see Tim Robbins suffer.  They watch to see him break out of prison.

Yes, I doubt that the Jack romance will end badly. No doubt that one can't wish away Jack's problems, but as a whole it seemed clear to me that the Jack romance was one of a better future for her.

Wait, what?

I don't..I mean, that logic could be applied to anyone in Mass Effect.

Especially since we REALLY don't know how things are going to turn out, in ME 3. Maybe there's a chance everyone will get a bad ending, depending on Shepard's actions. Maybe there's a chance a everyone will get a good one.

While I can understand Tali, if they're going to do that to her, why not add the possibility of doing it to anyone else? Namely Jack?

...I'm tragic, like that.Posted Image

And by the way, I wrote down that alternate ending to "Cost," if anyone cares to take a gander. For now, I'm gonna try and actually PLAY ME2; I haven't done it since the year began.Posted Image

I wouldn't be surprised if there was a "bad" ending to ME3 where squad mates die, etc. That's one way to get a tragic ending.

But I'm talking about Jack in particular.  She's been kicked around for the twenty-four years of her life before she met Shepard and now there's proposition that, in spite of all of our best intentions, she gets kicked around more after our time with her ends?  And that's leaving out the all-too-likely kill option that comes with every squadmate excapt Liara. That means that Shepard made absolutely no difference in her life whatsoever.  Plus the pathos wrung from that would be completely cheap and unearned, not to mention hackneyed.  The reformed bad girl gets a sad, messy end?  Jack deserves a better character arc than that Bond girl Diana Rigg played.

Of course I'm betting on the ending where it just ends, and any squadmate specific stuff will have to filled in by our own imaginations.

I get this impression as well, unless we get a Fallout: New Vegas style slideshow instead.

Challenge completed.  B)

The link is here.  Less awkwardness than I originally intended, but I gave it a shot.  Enjoy!  (Or don't, depending on how you feel about it.  Don't let me dictate your emotions).

I wish that every squadmate could get different endings according to Shep's actions: for example, Garrus applies again to be a Spectre or sticks with the vigilante thing depending on how you've handled the reckoning with Sidonis and/or to what will happen in ME3.

However, let's stop and think for a moment: ME3 will be the end of Shepard's story, not the end of the whole ME franchise. A vague slideshow epilogue similar to Dragon Age Origins' ending could give Bioware enough freedom to bring back certain characters if they wanted. Oh wait, I forgot they can always pull a second Lazarus Project ;-)

The more I think about it, though, the more I like the idea.

The game ends, the possibilities are vast, yet vague.  And as our minds scrape the infinity of what could happen, we--as a people, as a nation--can dredge from our hearts and our brains the words that common sense dictate, so that we may come to this miracle of the internet and offer them in hope...

"Well, Mondo?  Tell us what happened to Jack."

That brings me back...

... to the Knights of the Old Republic light side ending! The fate of all the characters was left in the dark - until Kotor 2, that is, but even Kotor 2 didn't have all the answers. I like to think that Revan told everyone he/she was leaving to look for the "mysterious sith menace ™", but the real truth is that he/she secretly settled on a tropical planet with his/her LI :-)
