I can't be the only one who thinks this is totally in-character, can I?

No your not, lets just hope Jack never gets her hands on a Cain otherwise, all is lost.

I think that's by design concerning Miranda.  :devil:However, was you playing with a renegade or paragon Shepard?  If you were playing paragon, then switch to one of your renegade Shepards and try it again.  :D

I like that expression on her face Epantiras.  It's kinda mischievous and a tad scary at the same time.

Heeeeeeere's Jack! :D

Beautiful :D

I can't think of a safer person to give a targetable tac-nuke to... minor irritations are obliterated in blinding nuclear fire. So it's goodbye traffic jams, lines at the Fishdog food Factory, rude shop staff (and shop too most likely)...

Spare a thought for Miranda... and Joker - do you think Jack cares about the "do not use in pressurised environments" warning on the side?

And just to rollback a little ways, no, I don't see Jack turning into a housewife. Like, ever. I do see her having a genuine relationship though - where and how and when is secondary to her simply being able to stop the fairly suicidal momentum of her existance on her own terms and turn it into a life. It would never be quiet, and it would not be stable all the time, but any life that is, is a little dull. Having kids doesn't stop you being you, nor does settling with one person for an extended time. Jack wants a place to belong, to stop, to be who she wants to be - not the person she has been forced to be. I see that person perhaps very differently to everyone else, though we should all maybe remind ourselves a little that Jack isn't completely the woman that hammers jackasses into walls with bone-shattering velocity and threatens to pull Miri's brains out through her nose for sh*ts and giggles - she's also the woman that has to fight with all she has to not lose it when she talks about someone that genuinely cared about her that fate took from her...

She'll never be a placid or conventional beast, granted, but I think she can appreciate peace given time and the chance.

A domesticated Jack isn't Jack, it's an impostor, or a catastrophe of writing.

A happy ending for Jack would feel like a disservice to her character.  She's a tragic figure.  A happy ending spoils that.  That doesn't mean that she has to die or be thrown in prison, but living happily ever after sounds a little cheap to me.

It's hard for me to imagine her being anything other than a criminal, really.  I don't see her going to school.  I don't see Jack washing dishes at some restaurant for example.  She has no skills, other than fighting.  What is she going to do?  Do what she knows best.

I agree JD, that's why I liked Loki's idea of Jack, Shepard and Co forming a mercenary group so much. Jack gets to live a nice life, and utilize that fighting skill, persumably ridding the galaxy of baddies and helping people. If Shep could teach her some fighting disipline and with her biotic abilties, look out.

Mecenary doesn't sound bad.  Jack doesn't strike me as sticking with anything long term.

How about Bonnie & Clyde?  I think it's kinda romantic.  I got the perfect Shep to make the other half of that team.  Go out with guns a blazin.  Do it out our way.;)

That would work too, but I'd prefer they did something.............noble. Maybe as Royce said earlier, its best that Bioware leaves it to us to fill in our own ending, that way you get your Bonnie & Clyde, and I get my A-Team.

Yeah, they can do an epilogue at the end and leave it hanging a little bit, or a lot, depending on the character.

Jack: I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Collector ships on fire of the shoulder of Horizon. I've watched Thanix beams glitter beyond the Omega 4 relay. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in the rain.

Seems odly approproate for Jack as her dying words. She is a rather poetic person at heart I believe.
Wrex would also be a good candidate. Canldes that burn bright last half as long unfortunately...

I won't be surprised if they pull another Virmire Survivor scenario.

Aside from that, there are two ways that I can see things ending, for Jack.

First comes tragedy.

It ends like I depicted. Jack ends up getting indoctrinated, and Shepard is forced to kill her. There's always the possibility of trying to find a cure, but it's highly unlikely. The only thing that could have cured indoctrination was the Thorian. But the Thorian is dead. Unless ExoGeni's feeling generous -- seeing as they collected whatever was left of the alien after it died -- Jack is only going to be a memory in Shepard's mind, by the time everything is said and done.

How big the memory is depends on how much Shepard liked her. Since we all do, it'd kill him. You can take that however you want.
.
I believe the Colonist/Sole Survivor bunch is going to be hard hit from that; they've already suffered. Lost friends and family, during their childhood, then more friends -- as well as a piece of their sanity -- on Akuze. Then they lose Kaidian, become responsible for the death of thousands of Alliance soldiers and/or the original council, get killed, get ressurrected, get rejected by the council again, and end up getting some of their new squad killed (Possibility) during the suicide mission. Not to mention not being able to save either the colonists, or their own crew.

If one more bad thing happens -- and it inevitably will -- to those Shepards? Well, we can all guess that outcome.

Now here's the good ending.

Reapers get killed, at the cost of thousands -- maybe millions -- of lives, as well as Earth's near death. When the threat immedieately passes, I believe most humans will attempt to rebuild what was just lost. Like the aliens did, with the Citadel. Shepard can either help out, or search for the remains of the Reaper threat, and eliminate it, if there's still a threat from them, around then. My best bet is that Jack would tag along. Because staying behind and working construction is boring, compared to what Shepard's got in mind.

Or Shepard could pull a Jedi Exile just getting off Malachor V and find some way to travel to dark space, never to return. Or was it Revan?

Annd I'm done.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bioware chose this. Angry, bitter, disappointed, but not surprised.

Post Mission Epilogue:

Jack's contribution to helping thrawrt and eventually destroy the Reapers is not forgotten.  Her name, among the other brave souls to rise to the challenge, is inscribed on a memorial at the Citadel for all to see.  Through these acts of courage she was able to find redemption and peace.  Jack made the ultimate sacrifice...and she sacrificed Miranda as well.  Shortly before she drew her last breath she blasted Miranda in the head with her shotgun.

If I had any sort of writing ability, like at all, I'd love to try writing a fanfic about Jack's mom, wouldn't be the most flattering portrayal though. Or one about Tali during the engineering debacle, personally I think she's down in Jack's lair crying her heart out, and Jack can't find the strength to tell her to get the **** out, and ends up awkwardly comforting her instead.

Well this took longer than I thought.

Jack's dying words if she was romanced is, "I knew I was going to get hit on this job. I was too happy... too happy with you."
WOW! That's really sad. What does everyone else think?

Maybe the writers thought it was a bit out-of-character, even after the final romance scene.

No telling. It doesn't sound out of character to me. It would be interesting to hear a rep discussing the team's decision making process with deciding what various lines to go with. Not just in the end, but throughout the game.
