Jack wearing heavy makeup makes more sense to me personally - a lot of women view makeup as a sort of armor and Jack might not be wearing literal armor, she sure wears a super heavy emotional one. getting her to open up is like pulling teeth. so wearing heavy makeup is just another way to hide the real Jack from the pain others would inflict on her.

How do we know Jack's makeup isn't tattooed on?  Not too terribly unusual....

That would totally conflict with that cute picture of Jack, and all the other ladies on the Normandy SR2, and Garrus, putting on their makeup.

Ink fades.  Maybe she was just giving it some gloss.

Totally the craziest LI ever produced.

You've not played many visual novels then. One of the more infamous two are one that's an eldritch abomination and another (depending on if you dump her iirc) decapitates you and keeps your head before she's caught.

thank you guys :) I'm trying to get portraits done for all the major characters plus a few cameo favorites, but Jack is someone you just have to draw more then once :)

oh and her makeup is not tatooed. in romance scene, her mascara runs. plus if you look carefully, some of her lipstick bled into the creases of the skin around her lips - pretty common especially with thick dark lipsticks, unless you know some tricks. I don't think anyone taught Jack those tricks.

I think she likes having some of her armor to be temporary, plus makeup leaves marks on other people, there's a certain satisfaction leaving your mark in more then one way.

Either that, or Homer's Makeup Gun, but I doubt it ever made it to production.

I've been f*cking convinced of this since moment one of running eyeliner. Part of me can just see her not wanting to be bothered with all the fuss, just preprogram and BAM - ready to roll... like slamming a clip home.

But... on the other hand, I can equally see her there with a brush, painstakingly lining her eyes, teasing her lashes, shaping her eyebrows, painting her lips... because it's her warpaint: this isn't to make her look pretty for someone else, this is to send a message ^_^

That's our girl - confusing and dividing our interpretations, even this late in the day. Sign of a good character.

I agree with the makeup=armor theory: while working on the Door comic, I accidentally forgot to paint her eye makeup and when I noticed that I thought "wow, she doesn't look that aggressive now". Also, mascara running away with tears during the love cutscene is a metaphor of her "walls" disappearing.

There are numbers on her mugshot seen during the LotSB car chase and she reaches "6". No info about weight. Asking a woman for her weight is unpolite, shame on you! ;-)

So, in the next weapon DLC we will have another shotgun to choose?
Eviscerator, Scimitar, Claymore, Homer's Makeup Gun... Imagine a krogan warlord shot with it :o

I always assumed Shepard is around 6ft, so that would make Jack 5.4, which would be average. I wouldn't dare guess her weight though, I already made some enemies with wrong guesses;)

You know, on the subject,I don't think Jack would care if one did ask her weight. She doesnt have a bodyweight/body image issue (not when at least half is on display).

I don't know about that, seeing as everyone looks as if they're all the same height.

I wouldn't put Jack at 5'4; we'd see the difference, then. If Shepard is about six feet, and Jack was smaller, then she'd be somewhere around 5'11.

I haven't paid close attention, but I think that most if not all of the humans in the game are the same height, with females being a little shorter than the males.  Or they might be the same, I'm not sure.  All of the Turians, Quarians, and Krogans are the same height, I think, with the exception of Grunt.

I don't it's possible to know any character's true height, unless it's stated somewhere.  From a non-meta perspective, I think that you just have to assume your own personal opinion as to how tall a character is.

I know, on the squad screen they're the same (except for Grunt, but he's a big fish), but I always though Jack and Kasumi are the smaller ones while Samara and Tali are fairly tall... in my miiind...

Generally cutscene power to the max as ingame sizes are fairly standardised; when you wake Grunt up he positivly looms over male shepard, possibly even towers. Fluff specifically states krogan are bigger than humans as well, yet Grunt's the same size in squad select/ect.

Think about it; if Grunt's bigger that everyone else then that means Grunt needs animations for all those 'hencihe #2 pushes the buttom' cutscenes you get in dialogues. Then there's the cover system; make Grunt bigger and suddenly BLAM a good chunk of the game's coversystem is useless, and if you bump up his armour/health to the point it's useful he's unkillable in the spots where he can get to cover.

That's just Grunt, one NPC. Another example could be Garrus-iirc he's about the same height 'ingame' yet in the cabin scene with his romance he's noticeably taller than femshep iirc.

Jack's smaller so with her you can get away with it a bit more (Compare her to the others in the power distribution screen-she's noticeably smaller than [almost?] everone else), but I honestly wouldn't put much stock in the ingame heights, certainly not the 'normal' ones. Personally however I imagine her to be quite small (about 5" 2, and Shepard to be quite tall (~ 6" 5) so there being quite a difference. Of course that's just because I think big guys and small girls are cute. :P

I'll never forget the nerdrage caused by the kissing cutscenes of Dragon Age Origins: my elven character SUDDENLY became as tall as Alistair O_O

There's no way to tell how tall a character *really* is in-game because they all have to share the same animation skeleton or whatever it is called. We'll have to use our imagination ;-)

Also, I always thought Jack looks "shorter" in the character selection screen because of her pose (she's not standing upright like Miranda or Jacob, for example).

Did you talk Loghain into performing the ritual with Morrigan, Eapantiras?

I did with one of my Wardens, and that whole sequence of dialog and events was the funniest in the whole game, to me.

Loghaine:  "You'll excuse me if I think of my dead wife" (or something similar)
