I was just thinking about what I would write in chapter 2 of "As the Normandy turns...in the Dark Mirror".  I was thinking about exploring Dr. Chakwas' torture chamber.  I can borrow a little material from what I recall about one of the Enterprise episodes.

I'm thinking about writing about one of the squadmates (females) trying to take control of the Normandy from Shepard.  Maybe coming up to his cabin and trying to slip him some poison, or something to knock him out, or try to kill him with a knife after sex, or something...

Since this is the dark universe, then I imagine that all of the aliens aboard the vessel would be subservient to the humans, but would still contribute.  I hate to have to replace Garrus, Tali, or Mordin with a human counterpart. 

If anyone has any suggestions, then let me know.

Or who would rather me not write it at all?:lol:

I'm down for more JD, I like my fanfic's to keep things light and your mirror universe one certainly fit the bill.



Plus, I think it would be quite funny for your fanfic to be the first thing a newbie to the thread might read.........we may never see them again, after such disturbing tale.

There's no way to tell how tall a character *really* is in-game because they all have to share the same animation skeleton or whatever it is called. We'll have to use our imagination ;-)
Also, I always thought Jack looks "shorter" in the character selection screen because of her pose (she's not standing upright like Miranda or Jacob, for example).


You're all forgetting Jack's shoes.  They add at least 2 cms to her height.  In the romance scene she embraces Shepard without having to really reach, so... if Shep's 6', I'd say Jack was around 5' 8", or 5'9" - mebbe 5'71/2" with her boots off.

That puts her slightly above the "average" female height, but not by much.

Her boots add a few inches I'll agree, but as mentioned before I don't think going off the in-game model heights will work-Jack's notably smaller than the other characters yet in the cut-scene suddenly becomes a little taller, so she can fit her head on Shepard's shoulder. Did he pick her up, did he bend down, is she always that height? Returning to Grunt, bioware (necessarily, and to their credit not obnoxiously/blatantly) plays fast and loose with the heights.

Is anybody here good with Photoshop? Why doesn't someone make a manip featuring Vanderloo and Natalie Portman from V for Vendetta as Jack & Shepard? Mass Effect's Skinhead couple.

Does anyone else think that Jack would do well with a pet? I can see her having a soft spot for Urzz (Or however you spell the Varren's name from Tuchanka) or any other animal used in various bloodsports. There would be the whole empathy vibe after what she has gone through and pets don't generally turn on you unless there are extraordinary circumstances.

Best I could do is try. I'm not as good as people would want me to be. Hell, I don't even have the feature on my laptop.


It'd be funny, if we all had went on and on about Portman being a good fit, and then we get the actual base for Jack's look, somewhere down the line.


I'll contribute more when I'm finished playinng the Dragon Age 2 Demo.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but I just completed the SM, did my rounds with the crew. And Jack was the only one not comment on my choice with keeping the base...

Although I can imagine she wouldn't like it. Not one bit.

I've had a few ideas.  I'm gonna have to jot them down so I don't forget.  Then I'll try to put it all together.  I'll have to dig down deep and find my inner Mondo.

I think chapter 2 will be exploring the Normandy house of horrors, with humor mixed in.

I got a warped sense of humor!:o

She's seen what TIM does with power.  You're right, she probably wouldn't like it.

She's seen what TIM does with power.  You're right, she probably wouldn't like it.

She does make a comment when you destroy the base, and she approves. I don't remember the exact line though.

On every playthrough except this one, I destroy the base because I hate Cerberus. But this time I didn't. And all she said was 'hey.'

I just thought it was odd that she was the only member not to comment after the SM back on the Normandy. She comments if you destroy the base, but not if you keep it.

I must have really ticked her off... *Hides behind a rock*

I had this happen to me as well, but I chalked it up to me having romanced her, so she had other things on her mind, but from your latest post I'm assuming you did not romance her.

Jack comments when I keep the base, Tasha. I would have to replay to find her exact line, but she was not happy.

Some of them will advocate that you keep the base whenever you're talking to the TIM hologram, and then they reverse themselves whenever you talk to them later aboard the ship.



I guess that's suppose to make the decision tougher to make, but I would rather them not comment on it at all later on, instead of reversing themselves.

Jack not commenting usually happens when I talk to other squadmates BEFORE I talk to her. So I'd advise doing that, next time.

You know I ran into that bug. I think I managed to avoid it if i talked to everyone on one floor at a time.

My Shepard who romanced Jack, he helped Gianna Parasini, and Shiala.  In retrospect, I realize how awkward and embarrassing it must have been for him, to have Jack with him at Nos Astra, when first arriving here.  He's trying to prove to Jack that he's not a user, and here he has random women and green asari kissing him, and flirting with him.  "Guys, you're not helping."  :blink:
