Lately I've been thinking about doing one of those cool forum banners with our favourite Jack quotes. What do you think? What are your favourite ones?

I sort of like "Hello, dead people!" Welcoming and menacing at the same time. Or "So thanks. And **** you." (Or is that one the other way around? I can never remember).

Its the other way around Bat.

I like "sh**, you sound like a ****", and "I like her...were not still recruiting, are we?", after Enyala makes the comment about Miranda's outfit.

Mondo I love that line too, in my inaugural playthrough I got that conversation after the Collector Base, it was my perfect ending to the game, who needs post suicide mission/post romance dialogue.

I agree that "I like her. Are we still recruiting?" is my favorite Jack line.

Provided she scrubbed hard enough, could Jack get her scalp to sparkle?
Let's say Shep and Jack took a stroll down the beach at night, would the moonlight reflect off her head? Had they met under more cheerful circumstances I wonder if Shep when he first saw her would want to touch and give her head a good rubbing.

I swear to drunk I'm not god... hic... hic

speaking of booze, wonder what Jack prefers. Ale, lager, cider, or spirits?

Still work in proggress, I'll add more quotes and I find them. BTW anyone knows the exact words Jack says about "friends needing a shorter knife to hurt you"?

Feel free to use it as banner wherever you want. I can upload individual frames upon request.

During Samara's recruiting mission, when you meet that Eclypse merc begging Shepard to spare her life.

It's "So f** you, and thanks for asking."

That's my favorite Jack quote. I think it sums her up perfectly. :P

Huh.

If Jack had been present in the above scene, the universe would likely have collapsed in on itself under the sheer awesomeness of two simultaneous Courtenay Taylor performances.

Seriously though, did anyone notice she voiced that Asari?

Even better is her quote when you find the audio log after letter the merc go:

"That b***h!  I *knew* I should have killed her!"

One of my personal favorites:

"Lots of dead bodies."  *pause*  "Nothing new here."  (Sure enough, if you look around, corpses are everywhere.)

I've been lurking this thread the last 10 days or so, but since I've decided to contribute, I'd like to answer a general question someone posted a week or so ago.  (Why do people like Jack?)

1.  Her recruitment scene made me laugh.  ("Ugh...you sound like a p***y!"  *cut to Shepard's face where it's obvious he can't believe what he just heard*  "Did she just call me a...?  She did!")  Subsequent banters and comments kept me laughing, so consequently, I liked having her around my Shepard all the time.

2.  I felt that Jack's issues were something that my Shepard could relate to...not just passively "understand," and in helping her deal with her emotions, he helped himself turn away from his own anger and despair about all that he'd lost or sacrificed over the years.  (Basically, in convincing her that she had to keep faith and not yield to the ugliness, he convinced himself to do the same.)

3.  The relationship had a dramatic evolution, but the progression through dialogues seemed very natural to me.  Shepard had plenty of chances to call bullcrap on Jack, and she gave as good as she got at times.  Also, I like that even though he's trying to convince her to live her life without fear, he's not feeding her fake promises that "everything will end up okay/happily ever after."  He pretty much says, one way or another, yeah, life can suck and bad things happen to good people, but you can't stop trying.

4.  Visually, I loved the symbolism behind so many of their romance scenes.  In one of the first and one of the last conversations:  Early on, she jumps on a cargo box, and Shepard flinches away from her.  They cut to her face, showing just how much she's getting off on his fear.  Later, though, when he's telling her just why she should risk an affair with him, she's backing away in a panic as he slowly advances on her, closing the distance between them.  Then, the "hand clasping" part of the cabin scene: mutual trust, connection, etc.

Anyway, I have to clock in to work now, but there you go.  :)

This is why it's nice to have new people around - new perspectives, and such. I hadn't noticed all of the ways Jack's body language changes, as she gets more used to Shepard. I did notice the way her personality changes, but not her body language.

The body language says a lot, even more with Jack, because she's not a chatty type. I noticed that in the beginning, when she tries to scare Shepard off, she crosses her arms across the chest thus puts up a barrier between them. Later, when Jack's talking about Murtock she's doing it again until "the recording" part and then again when she's sure that she scared Shep off. It's like she knew she let her barrier down and now she's desperately trying to put it back up with badass attitude.
And don't even get me started on the signals Jack's sending with her eyes- I can't express myself well enough to have a go at that :D

I tried to see some signs like that during Miranda's romance path, but the cheap "dat ass" shots just ruined it for me.

PS. Errmm, it just dawned on me- how many times I must've watched that particular Jack conversation to notice what she's doing with her arms? Should I get myself a straitjacket already?
