Btw what are those weird strap things around her legs anyway? Part of her shoes..? I wish we could see her in more form fitting pants.

We don't know for sure. But based on the beginning of the ascension program, the time that she escaped the Teltin facility, and the time that ME2 takes place; I believe she is 21 at the oldest.

Bit of a side note, somebody posted the full set of slides from Christina's presentation, and I saw that axl99's painting of Jack actually made it into one of the slides.

Check for the slide called "What kind of game is Mass Effect 2?" in the circle called "new and old fans" and there it is.

Congrats, axl.  You got Christina's eye. Posted Image

Oh ya I remember seeing that on the presentation. Congrats axl! That's gotta be pretty kool that a lot of people at BioWare and GDC have seen a piece of your work.

Kudos, Axl. Your work deserves notice, and for it to be taken in as a part (if not an exemplar) of a massive global community, that's something to really take some pride in. Good on ya, kidda :)

It's not a bad feeling, is it? Ok, maybe not when you're in the shower, but... ;)

Hey, if they're reading what we have to say, even in a small way, it's good.

They look like buckles for her boots - I have a pair of monstrous things in the bottom of a wardrobe from my wild years that buckled up just past my knees... took forever to get in and out of them, sitting down was a pain in the ass, and dancing was on a par with torture, but boy, did you look like you could kick people to death with them on :D

Good show, axl! Surely this means that they can't drop Jack from ME3 now!

Hello everyone,

As Jack is one of the very few fictional characters that managed to break through my adult / rationalizing mechanics, I felt like contributing some more support to this thread.

Yes, I do confess that I'm having some kind of teenage crush on her.

Yes, she does remind me of an old girlfriend almost-to-be (tattoos, pretty messed up but, alas, my paragon skills failed big time on that one:().

Yes, she is the least obvious of all romance options, which, somehow, gives her even more credit in my book.

Yes, she absolutely has to be in ME3 (no cameos or framed photos in some captain's cabin, please, it would be so very disapponting).

Keep up the good work!

P.S. These shades look horrible, please make them go away...

Well, you know what Bioware are like about headgear... they have mastered the kiss-through helmet, so maybe they'll manage emote-through shades... ;)

Oh, and welcome to the Jackolytes, Boom!

The "drink-through" Blood Dragon Armour tops it all, I feel.

I think the Collector armour has an edge there...

After the dust settles on Haestrom...

Shep: Tali!

Tali: Shepard! You came for me!

Shep: Awwww...

Tali: What's wrong?

Shep: How did you know it was me? I spent twenty thousand credits on the space cockroach outfit! The guy at the shop swore it would terrify anyone!

Grunt: You should have broken his legs when you had the chance, Shepard.

Shep: Yeah, but he threw in a 24-issue subscription to Fornax with it...

And then we do Thane's loyalty quest again:police:

You know, it looks to me that like people either love the sunglasses, or hate them with a passion. Seems like there's very little room for...

...shades of grey.

Has anyone else noticed the interesting choice of clothes that Jack wears in the cutscenes or how it "clings" to her?? Just replaying the game again, and saw again a little interesting thing in a cutscene so took a screen shoot, didn't do anything but enlarge it to see an intriguing conundrum with her.

Now I have to wonder what the Jack designers were originally thinking for Jack's in game clothes, and how much a storm it raised?

I always thought they were Prison coveralls that she pulled the top down and secured it around her....well not her waist,  but I'm sort of baffled as to how they do not slide down her legs completely

I can totally imagine Tali with sunglasses on her mask. Oh how hilarious that would be.

Let me see if I can work my magic on a special topic for sunglasses, with supportsigs etc. Need to make sure it doesn't look to much like the Mass Effect: CSI thread though.

You know, something just occurred to me.

Stanley Woo posted on the CSI thread, which means at least some BioWare staff have seen that thread.  You don't suppose that maybe they started putting sunglasses on those alternate outfits BECAUSE of that thread, do you?

Because if my part in helping to develop that thread led to Jack's horrible shades, I'll just go ahead and commit ritual seppuku right now, I think it's the least I deserve.  :P

Huh, I didn't pick up on that.  from this character reference someone made, it would appear that that is what her outfit is intended to be.

I'm not sure how I feel about the shades for the new outfits. In a way, I kind of like them, but since Bioware has shown that they could care less whether or not helmets and the like are always shown, I'm just dreading the idea of romancing her while she's wearing those things. I just think it would take something away from the whole scenario.

As for my idea for a DLC mission for Jack that could extend her story, I had an idea but I don't know if it would work unless you had romanced her. My idea was for a mission where she finds out that Murtock is still alive, but he's being held prisoner by the batarians they ran into previously. Now, I know that the general consensus is that Murtock is dead, but we don't actually know that for fact. If you go back and listen to the conversation, Jack basically assumes that he's dead but never really saw him die. We just know he didn't make it out of there with her.

Yeah, but...

Actually that's a really good idea.  Even if you didn't romance her, it's still a good idea for a quest, as it could give Jack a semblence of grounding.  Being as one of my fears for ME3 is that if any of the squaddies die on the suicide mission, a friend or a relative will show up and yell at me.

Of the non-DLC squaddies, Jack is the only one who has no one.  Murtock could fill this in nicely.

Good thinking!

If that's the case, and it seems likely, then it's interesting that I've heard plenty of comments saying that Tali is too young for Shepard, but none saying that Jack is too young, despite Jack being (physically) younger than Tali.  Guess people recognize that age is derived at least as much from experiences as from time passed since birth.

Interesting outfit for Jack. I like it. ..Not too sure on the visor though. then again, after a ME2 playthrough with the cyberpunk Umbra Visor, I am prepared for all kinds of horrendous headgear.

Hmm,
The Ascention program was probably planned years before it was
officially started though, Cerberus would know about it too. So she
could be older than that.

Or maybe I just don't like the idea of
Jack being so close to my age.

If BioWare wanted to put some sunglasses on Garrus and give him some CSI-style one-liners, I wouldn't complain. But Jack's visor looks like something a kid would bug his parents to get him at Disneyland, and then wear them all day even though they're too tight and the cheap plastic irritates his skin, only to stick them in some toy box somewhere when he gets home and never look at them again.

I'm not sure if I am nuts about the idea of helping out an old lover of hers. Call me jealous, but I don't want to be put in the position of having to put a bullet in his head to keep Jack.
