I'm not sure how I feel about the shades for the new outfits. In a way, I kind of like them, but since Bioware has shown that they could care less whether or not helmets and the like are always shown, I'm just dreading the idea of romancing her while she's wearing those things. I just think it would take something away from the whole scenario.

As for my idea for a DLC mission for Jack that could extend her story, I had an idea but I don't know if it would work unless you had romanced her. My idea was for a mission where she finds out that Murtock is still alive, but he's being held prisoner by the batarians they ran into previously. Now, I know that the general consensus is that Murtock is dead, but we don't actually know that for fact. If you go back and listen to the conversation, Jack basically assumes that he's dead but never really saw him die. We just know he didn't make it out of there with her.

I'm not sure if I am nuts about the idea of helping out an old lover of hers. Call me jealous, but I don't want to be put in the position of having to put a bullet in his head to keep Jack.

Unless you take the glasses off her in the scene, revealing the big sad eyes hiding behind the shades, just waiting to cry... sorry, in my book that would be awesomely romantic imagery-wise ^_^

I don't know... if the Squints have had the guy for x number of years, it'd be doubtful that even if he was alive he'd be anything like the same man, mentally or physically. Considering they make the Krogan look civilized when it comes to treatment of other races, I'd imagine it'd be like Chuck Norris in Missing In Action 3, only to such a degree that it makes human POW camps look like summer camps.

I wouldn't underestimate Jack in this hypothetical situation; whether it was just another part of her great big tower of **** to hide behind, she considered the guy to have used her for all the usual things. Shep hasn't. I doubt she'd go back to the guy, though caring about his well-being isn't outside the realms of possibility, especially for a slowly-healing Jack.

Squints... video games have officially made me racist against Batarians ;)

Has anyone else noticed the interesting choice of clothes that Jack wears in the cutscenes or how it "clings" to her?? Just replaying the game again, and saw again a little interesting thing in a cutscene so took a screen shoot, didn't do anything but enlarge it to see an intriguing conundrum with her.

Now I have to wonder what the Jack designers were originally thinking for Jack's in game clothes, and how much a storm it raised?

I always thought they were Prison coveralls that she pulled the top down and secured it around her....well not her waist,  but I'm sort of baffled as to how they do not slide down her legs completely

Hmm, can anyone get a clear picture of the legs of a prisoner on the Purgatory? I know their outfit is an orangish brown, similar to the color of Jack's pants. I'm just curious as to if Jack's outfit is just a "modified" version of the Purgatory prisoner outfit.

If BioWare wanted to put some sunglasses on Garrus and give him some CSI-style one-liners, I wouldn't complain. But Jack's visor looks like something a kid would bug his parents to get him at Disneyland, and then wear them all day even though they're too tight and the cheap plastic irritates his skin, only to stick them in some toy box somewhere when he gets home and never look at them again.

Ya I agree. The visor/glasses thing looks incredibly stupid on Jack. And she would look incredibly silling during conversations and cutscenes with her. And one of Jack's best features is her eyes, and to hide her eyes would be like putting a blanket over a stripper. And it would totally kill her amazing sad face.

Same here. I'd prefer Murtock is dead. I would not be happy if he were still alive and we ran into him. That would be extremely awkward. I know that doesn't sound very nice but oh well Posted Image. Or if I could at least run into him alone.....

Murtock: Are you commander Shepard? I've been looking for you for a while now.

Shepard: And who are you?

Murtock: Oh my name is Murtock I used to be with Jack, your crewmate.

Shepard: You're supposed to be dead.

Murtock: Ya well I--*BAM* [Shepard shoots Murtock in the face]

Shepard: That's more like it.

Nah, I think it could work.  They could call it, "There's Something about Jack."

Shepard:  You and Murtock deserve to be with each other.  I just want you to be happy, Jack.

Jack:  But I'd be happiest with you.

Shepard:  Really?

Jack:  Definitely.  There's no way YOU'D let yourself get taken out by a couple of lousy Batarians.  I need a real man, not a wimp like Murtock.  Now let's go shoot something together.

And the best part is... no worries about bodily fluids in the hair! :D

I am not crazy about the sunglasses theme going on, no offense, and I agree Jack's looks a little ridiculous. I do like that they are giving us more armor/clothing options for out squad, now if we could only get toggle helmets, or remove for cut scenes, I'd be happy.

Shepard: So Murtock, how many of those Batarians did you kill before they took you prisoner?

Murtock: I don`t know, I held them off in a narrow corridor for about 2 hours. Maybe a hundred.

Shepard: Thats impressive. I mowed them down in droves back on Torfan, but I lost a lot of good soldiers there.

Murtock: I really hate Batarians. I wanna blind thm one of them one eye at a time.

Shepard: We have so much in commun. Wanna go for drinks on Omega, there's this racist Batarian barkeeper we could torture a bit.

Murtock: That sounds great.

Of course we may be looking at such a thing the wrong way. If you take the Renegade option, Jack point blank says she never took revenge on the Batarians for killing Murtock. Maybe THAT could be a DLC.

It would certainly fit a post-suicide mission Jack. It would show growth, taking revenge on someone else's behalf as opposed to her own. Of course that's just my opinion.

Yes Ma'am, Commander-Ma'am! ;)

In all seriousness though, this would make for an interesting addition to the character's developing history. Gets mah vote.

Okay, this is a couple of pages old, but I feel the need to raise this point.

royceclemens wrote...

Priorities are everything.  Those Eyes > Dem Hips > Dat Ass

Maybe that's the reason.  There are no body parts for callow young men to drool over.  The entire point of Jack, from her attitude to her looks, is that she is not an easily plied object.

[...]

I agree, but while we're talking about fetishized body parts, dem lips aren't half bad either.  ;)

Sorry... I wanted to mention this before, but had to contemplate whether or not I was, in fact, above it.

In regards to some kind of Jack-related DLC mission.. I dunno, I think I'd love to see something that doesn't focus on draggin something from her past (Like every single loyalty mission but Grunt's, even though those make sense to be). Instead, somthing relating to Jack's future would be nice to see. Like what? I have no idea whatsoever.I'm not paid to come up with these ideas. :P

Oh, I don't think most of us are "above it". I think I actually made a post in this thread a good number of pages back concerning "dem lips" because, let's face it, after her eyes those lips are pretty damn nice.

You know, I still wonder if they modelled Jack's face off of someone in real life. I've heard that they didn't but I don't think anyone was ever able to back it up one way or the other.

For those curious, there probably won't be any new audio edits for a little while, probably about a week.

Not because I don't have any ideas, but because I've decided I want to completely go through all the game's audio before I make any more.  I've been going through some sound banks and going, "Dammit, I wish I had known about that line before I had finished up that one edit!  That would have been perfect!"  (The real heartbreaker was Zaeed's line to the wounded merc in Grunt's recruitment mission: "Suck it up, soldier!")

So basically, I'm just putting the soundbanks on a playlist in MediaMonkey (great mp3 player software, by the way, highly recommend it) and pausing when I heard something good and labeling it.  Might take a few days (LOT of audio to go through), but I think it will make the final results of future endeavors a lot funnier.

By the way, the winner of the most "exploitable" lines so far has got to be Grunt.  His loyalty mission in particular is a treasure trove.

So, a bit off topic, but I was checking out that video that was posted of the new Thane/Garrus/Jack costumes. It's funny how everyone is referencing them back to 1980's sci-fi because I keep looking at the new costume for Garrus and thinking "Tron?"

Or maybe I've just been watching the trailer for "Tron Legacy" way too much.  :?

I'm a bit on the PC-illiterate side, so apologies if this is a stupid/obvious question, but how might one go about listening to these sound files?

-edit. I wouldn't imagine they're in mp3 format? lol...

It's actually not that complicated, but you end up with a lot to sort through.  I found the information on how to do it here. This guy is more focused on the music afcs, but you can do it with any file with an afc format in the ME2 folders.  Just need to download a few freeware programs. However, the final files are in OGG format, but I think a lot of audio players support those.

God, I put a post on the Tali thread around page 2991 about a sound file I found, and then went out to get dinner.  I get back and they're on page 3015.  I'm sure that's 24 pages of quality posts, right there. <_<
