I don't really see it bordering on a catfight, Royce. And I don't think Ashley would try to interfere in something she knows she's not a part of.

Especially considering the 'The mission comes first' choice made during ME1.

Even if that choice weren't made, I don't believe Ash would try to win Shepard back, or some sh*t like that. For some reason, I can only see Liara doing that. I see Ashley doing her job. Of course, she's going to have some feelings about what's going on, but she'll probably put her mission first, regardless.

@edge: Accuracy is no substitute for the trigger motion of the Xbox controller! And we all know how Jack likes to pull the trigger herself when shooting someone, lol.

Novint Falcon.  Just sayin'.

Oh my... I want one!!

The only downside I see is that it encourages bad gun shooting mechanics by having your arm in that position... but that probably wouldn't matter much to people who don't shoot real guns. And I still want one. :D

Edit:  Maybe I should hold out for this: Novint Xio :o

[My question is this: once Jack finds out about Shepard and Ashley, how do you think she'd handle it? Would she confront the both of them? Or would she just not care?
.

Considering that you can take Jack with to horizon with you and Ash openly states that she loved Shep, I think she already knows.

Another reason for me to be glad I didn't romance Ash. If Ashley said that when I was in that scenario, my Shep would have been like "WTF?! You have horrible timing for dropping a past tense 'L' word..." But I think Jack would have still been like "Meh".

Meh-at that point Jack isn't really interested in Shepard that way (it's only after he helps her with reducing her past to a smoking crater, and then brushes off offers of sex that she starts as I interpret it) and Ashley does say 'loved'.
To Ashley's credit I don't think she'd get too ****y about it, certainly in public. She's a very strong headed woman, she'd just get on with the job. Mentally sneering at him not bothering to wait optional I'd assume.

You're assuming I'm talking about the Horizon scene. This is a "What if" scenario that takes place AFTER that, just so you know.

The potential Ash/Jack confrontation is something that is something so scary I'm tempted to make a separate character that romances both of them just to see it. But as it stands I would still beto very content with my separate Ash and Jack romances. With that said, do you think they might give Jack a big enough role that Shepard can actually be friends with her this time? Jack almost made me cheat on Ashley the first time around but I eventually tried to settle for being friends. This of course just cuts off the end of her dialogue tree, which was disappointing because I had hoped we'd become relatively close friends, (at least by Jack's standards). I did bring her with me on the final mission and her giving me "the nod" at the last scene of the game was cool but regardless I would still hope we get more actual platonic friendship content in the third game. Is that too much to hope for?

Yeah, I think you can be ab;e to get your friend on with Jack in ME3.

The two of them need SOMEthing to talk about.

They're changing Jack's character design, for ME3, to be more mature, and softer. "You can only stay punk rock for so long, you know?"  Incoming hair.

EDIT: Then again, that magazine source lists James Sanders as the sniper we see in Big Ben in the ME3 trailer, and Bioware said that that's not Sanders.  The magazine has to be wrong about that, at least...

Dismissal in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1... *dismissal aborted* uhmmm after seeing what they've done to Ashley, I wouldn't be surprised to see Jack with a different style v_v anyway, I won't believe it until I've seen it with my own eyes.

Is it just her look? I can live with that.
Anything else about her?

"If you screwed with my head, made me nod and smile at everything... I'd rather you blew my head off. Let me die as me."

Anyway, let's be optimistic... Bioware DOES read the threads (they wouldn't go through the pain of managing the BSN otherwise) and they DO know what we want.

So does this mean Jack will not want to kill everything she lays her eyes on in ME3?

As long as Bioware does not try to make her into a completely different women i'm all for it.

I imagine a My Fair Lady type situatiion with Jack in Kate Winslet's outfit from Titanic. All formal and stuff
Shepard reuinites with her during a formal dinner party and it's kinda like Pride & Prejudice
Finally they get some alone time but just as they are about to kiss... BOOM!!!! REAPERS ATTACK!

Or maybe she'll be in a straight jacket in an insane asylum talking about lambs

However, I would love to see her in some proper clothes though. As far as personality is concerned I'm expecting a calmer yet more menacing demenour. But whenever she sees Shep her eyes go all wobbly for just a minute. I imagine her being really over protective of him. You can imagine her reaction when Liara/Ashley try to steal him away but then this isn't a Soap Opera... it's a Space Opera... zing!

EDIT:
Provided she has a deesp & meaningful relationship with Shepard, do you think that she'll treat intimate moments between them as casualy as with anyone else or would such encounters for once feel special for her?

That line made me regret for not having Jack more often as party member.

That didn't stop them from making that back alley (with a rusty wire hanger) abortion called Dragon Age 2.

All this talk about Jack being redesigned makes me optimistic towards her role in ME3. Think about it, why would Bioware go through all the trouble to redesign Jack just to give her a minor cameo appearance. I have a good feeling Jacks going to be one of the more important squadmates in ME3 .

This.

Regarding the changes, yes, you can only be punk rock for so long.  There are no real punks in the world.  All the real punks either OD'd, drank themselves to death, or cut their hair and are now selling paint thinner to all the neighborhood kids.  If you weren't at CBGBs in the seventies, you're not a real punk.

Getting off track.  Anyway, if it's done in the name of development?  I'm all for it.  She let go of her past and all, if you blew up Teltin, and there's only so long you can be angry after you reconcile.  I won't be mad if she's not angry anymore.  But I will be PISSED AS ALL HELL if she's not funny anymore.

I wouldn't mind Jack being slightly different as long as she's still the same in the most meaningful ways.

But the thing is character redesigns can vary a lot depending on the circumstance. For example, I can still view Tali in Mass Effect 1 and 2 as the same character. But in Dragon Age's case, with the reworking of Anders, not so much.

We've gotten so bent out of shape that we kinda forgot to bask in the fact that HOLY S--T, JACK IS IN ME3! And not only that, PS3M is handicapping her favorably as playable.  HARDY DANCE!

Posted Image

Priorities, folks... Priorities. We can get back to whining and moaning tomorrow.

EDIT: Not to mention that Jack got official confirmation before Tali, making this the only time we ever got anything before the Talimancers.  I don't mean to be mean to them about it, but come on.  Good times.
