That looks good. How are you doing that? I don't know why, but that made me think of Jack working in a garage, or in a shipyard.

It does look good and fit her style (Though I maintain they should still show more tattoos). It would be pretty funny to see Jack take up an interest in ship mechanics and form a friendship with Tali. They're so polar opposite it would be fun to see the interactions down in maintenance

And you weren't asking me... but it's a real photo (http://img257.images...65/jamaicao.png) edited well to fit Jack's face and tats in. Nicely done Nyoka, it's a good fit.

Just a little thought before I slope off to bed... you remember those polls I did ages ago that aimed to chart the age and sex of players to their respective favorite love interests? Jack charted marginally higher with female gamers than any other female character in the game. Now ok, this isn't going to be based on my polls, but I'm willing to bet that the powers that be will have done research of their own, and I imagine it could have come out to similar conclusions. And also considering that BioWare staff have said they don't like doing things to potentially alienate the female fanbase (having just listened to the Garrus segment on GameInformer), because female gameplayers are finally being recognised as purchasers beyond the average game-buying 14-25 year old male that 99% of games are patronisingly pitched at, I don't think they'd snarl up a character that the female fanbase liked to simply pander to some hormone-addled laddies... because girls that play games can see that sh*t and will call them on it. Loudly.

That gives me a bit more hope for integrity over yet another catsuit-transformation ;)

I know that it probably doesn't need to be said, but I'm really looking forward to news about how, exactly, Jack has "changed," for ME3. Then again, if Jack has a dramatic, or just plain badass return scene in ME3, I don't know if I'd want to be spoiled about it...

Thanks, Mondo, and speaking as a hormone-addled laddie, I must say that I too have a loud voice ;)

I like that bit about Charlie Sheen  and I was relatively speaking. How can it possibly compare to independent Japanese horror films? In my experience with these games, you seem to spend a lot of time hearing about or killing rapists, cannibals, baby murderers, demon possessed innocence, etc, etc, and it leaves a depressing feeling in me. Which is the word I should have used instead of "dark".

I think she just killed them out of instinct and got them before they got her.

She only says "I got them first".  She probably killed them, or maybe she left them for pirates, or for all we know she's lying out of her sweet arse.

Question: How many paragons vs renegades out there make up her fan base? Stereotyping would say it
would mostly be renegades, but I'm full on paragon and she's my favorite, so just seeing what the rest are.

Besides her badass exterior, the way Jack was marketed made me think she was the clear "renegade" option, but I was deceived. I liked maybe one of the renegade options, while paragon-neutral was genuinely touching IMO. I might still max out the renegade bar, but done so without the help from Jack's convos.  In one or two instances, the paragon option comes off as renegade-ish, so it's not even a clear cut path (relatively).

I just remembered - I'm glad that we have confirmation that Jack is returning, for ME3, so that people will stop saying "durr hurr, neural degeneration, she won't be in ME3."

The writers do have an opportunity to tell us more about her "neural degeneration," though.  It has some significance, at least, because her biotics are becoming more powerful as the degeneration progresses.

I thought it was funny too, since I've seen all six of them, and they're so comedic its unbelievable. I can see how most people would be disturbed by them, but they're so absurd that I can't help but find the humor in it all. There are a few Japanese and Chinese horror films that have a few suspenseful moments and some films that are purely bizzare, but they're mostly interesting rather than frightful.

No, that is the right term. A good dark story makes you feel hopeless, helpless, and lost in the world you've entered. Leaving you nowhere to run, as all the fears that world holds slowly closes in on you and devours your soul. If a story can't make me feel like that, then it's not dark. Which is a shame since there's a lot of opportunities for revenge in both games, and revenge stories can make perfect templates for dark stories.

In Jack's story you're hanging with a renegade pirate who kills everything in her path, not helpless. With Samara she's a space samurai that's virtually untouchable and a perfect killer --it's impossible for Morinth to escape-- her story isn't hopeless. Jacob was a super covert soldier who spent his entire career doing black missions and going against the impossible, when searching for his father, he wouldn't be lost. It's kind of hard to find a dark story when the protagonists are almost perfect at their roles, except for Jack of course, since her flaws are her most lovable parts.

I'd be a f*cking field day for a psych major to study. Perhaps a neurologist would have more luck.:D

IF her change is anything like this, I don't think anyone who liked her original look would be disappointed.
...

I like it. It looks good. I think I prefer her natural red hair color, but I can live with whatever (and I also don't mind if she goes with a wildly unnatural color). But honestly, I don't care much if Jack changes her appearance a lot or not. I don't want her her to change enough that people who hated her for shallow reasons are now able to like her though (they don't deserve to like).

I mostly want her personality to still be Jack. More "mature" and mildly "softened" is fine if it has to do with her relationship with Shep, since relationships do affect people (to say she won't soften at all is arrogant; look at the romance scene, she already softened a little there). But she has to still be very obviously the same person with rough edges. If they turn her into Miranda or Tali, I'll be pissed.

I'm not too hung up on her appearance, but we all have our own aesthetic preferences, and to say otherwise is pretentious, and just as shallow as caring only about appearances. I personally prefer an unconventional look for her because she has an "unconventional"(for lack of a better word) personality. But it's not like much can be done to make her look conventional; after all, I don't think there's a chance in hell that they'd remove her tatts.

As for rumors that she will have a new writer, I heard a leak that the new writer is Mondo. Haha, j/k, I wish. But I think we'll be fine... I hope... I better stop thinking about it or I'll worry too much.

But she was helpless and hopeless for most of her life. Ronald Taylor's victims also helpless. Maelon from guilt.  I guess empathy is my neurological disorder

Well said, and Mondo isn't Jack's new writer, she's been the original all along :o

I would like to see her in a slick set of armor, like what axl was talking about a page or so ago. Then she could change out of that when not in combat, into something else. Maybe leather?

I admit I'm curious at how they'll interpret a more "mature" Jack... but I hope the changes are not that drastic. I love her the way she is.

I recently made another render of her.  Hope you like!

I plan to make more renders of her, but instead of  doing more portraits I'm thinking of doing abstract bodyscapes.  Meaning she will be nekkid :kissing: so I don't think I'll be able to post them here.

Now that is a pretty cool look.  Didn't romance Jack but liked her and I think most Jack lovers would not be unhappy with that look

Options, baby. The leather bra from her FftL trailer shows the 2nd-most tats. And I really like geekgirl's idea of

If I were going to dress Jack up in something different, I'd like to try a wifebeater and some slightly torn-up shorts. Not daisy dukes, but something easy to move around in that would allow us to see the tats on her legs.

Smexy.

I love Jack, nice to see women who aren't conventionally beautiful. (As a semi-heavily tattooed girl it's nice to see characters such as Jack)

If only I could get away with such a cool haircut!

I don't think that haircut is really Jack's taste, not to mention its a bit juvenile to be honest.

O RLY? I don't exactly oggle people when I talk to them., so this is how it'd play out:

"That's a very exotic outfit you have on, Jack."

"I'm not wearing anything."

:o

Meh, I just don't like the ME hair. Half the styles look unwashed and greasy, the other half looks like varnished wood. Just my opinion, tho, I'd *gulp* be ok even if they gave her Miranda's hair.
