I think they'd rip one another to ribbons, eventually. If church-girl Ashley got under her skin, Jack would skin her alive.

Jack: You think I'm some damsel in distress waiting for some big hero? Maybe the bucket or the cheerleader but not me!
Hey! Virmire Survivor is a Spectre now!! Very good way to re-introduce both! Epic battle between Kaidan & Jack.
Ashley would be hanging upside down begging for mercy though...
I can imagine Jack being captured by Kaidan/Ashley and Shep getting very pissed off.

I could see her getting into a fight with VS, but getting captured? I don't see it, but then again it happened at least once, but I assume it takes an army of heavy mechs to do so.

And to be honest, IF Jack can beat Ashley in a fight I don't see Kaidan doing any better. The main advantage he might have over her is biotics and that's the very thing that Jack is more powerful than him at. Really though I'd have to think that both Ashley and Kaidan would know how to change tactics to fight powerful biotic individuals and not just stand around waiting to be flung away.
I don't know that i can see either one capturing her though. Maybe if they want to play up Kaidan or Ashley's Spectre abilities?

Well, I finally completed the Jack romance for myself, rather than watching someone else's. Through sheer good fortune, I managed to avoid most of the lines that had my blood boiling previously. I think it's very touching that Shepard thinks she's worth sticking around for, even though he knows he can't fix her. He also manages not to come off like a domineering bully, which I appreciated. I do still think it goes too far in the direction of her being redeemed by the love of a good man, but it's possible to avoid the worst. The crying in the love scene is downright creepy, though.
What mix of conversation options did you choose? Mostly Neutral?

That neutral line of "I can't fix this" is why I don't understand where the "magic penis" theory comes from. You go through great lengths to bust her out of prison, you're probably the first person who declines her "easy lay" option, and you go out of your way to help her get closure on Pragia. Even as a renegade, that's huge.
The "you're not the thinking type, Jack" is what you say after you lead her on to the very end and then break up with her, so yeah, it's pretty cruel. There's a ring of truth about it, still, because she says so herself she doesn't need to know details, she gets feelings and acts on her instincts.
I agree that there are many lines that boil my blood, as well. But I also like that I had to actually think about my options. All the romance plots can be simplified like introductions on "The Dating Game" if you like, so I like to keep it in perspective.
And Idk what's so creepy about Jack's river of mascara at the end, though. She's crying. People do that sometimes.

For science, I had to say "Sorry, Jack, fixing you isn't my job" to see her reaction. I haven't been able to live with myself since

No kidding, I rather just shoot her than go through that again.

Which lines in particular make your blood boil and why?
Also, I like the tears because it shows just how much of an emotional catharsis she just had
I mean somebody holding her lovingly must have seemed like an almost alien sensation. I'm surpised she doesn't jolt everytime you try to grab her.
I'm a bit 50/50 on the sex part though. For one thing I prefer celebratory sex after the mission has been successful. I always imagine they just have this one long passionate kiss with their bodies intertwined in each other and rubbing each other's bald scaps with Shep whispering comforting words in her ear.
Now after they get back, they must have had some knunckle dragging, bedsheet ripping sex.

The clothed "sex" is so ambiguous, you could say they made out for a bit, and then went for the cuddles.
Yeah, I'm positive they didn't have sex. Neither of them even took their shoes off, for crying out loud. It's all about what they're doing during the fade to black and where the camera is. If the camera is focusing on something other than Shep and the LI in the foreground of the fade out shot, or the camera is on something else, then they had sex. All these scenes are directed the same.
JACOB: Camera rising up out of the skylight while shirtless Jacob is on top of FemShep. Skylight in foreground=Sex.
GARRUS: Fade out on FemShep and Garrus doing the headbutt. Nothing in the foreground except the two participants=No Sex.
MIRANDA: Pan to the drive core while Miranda is grinding on MaleShep. Drive Core in the foreground=Sex.
TALI: Fade out on the mask in the foreground as Tali pounces slightly out of focus in the background. Mask in the foreground=Sex.
THANE: Pan to the bed after really good kissing animation before the fade out. Shot of bed (naturally)=Sex.
KELLY: And yes, this counts. Kelly and Shepard in the background while the panel to the galaxy map looms out of focus in front of us. Galaxy map interface in the foreground before fade out=Sex.
JACK (RENEGADE): Slow pan up the the ceiling of the engineering subdeck while tattooed, angry hanky-panky is audible. Shot of the ceiling before fade out=Sex.
JACK (PARAGON): Zooming out on Jack and MaleShep in bed. Nothing in the foreground except the two participants=No Sex.

Ashley doesn't strike me as the kind of unreasonable religious person that tries to cram their belief system down your throat or uses it as a thinly-veiled moral cudgel to beat you down with because you're done something abhorent to their morality and thus all the problems in your life are divine punishment...
Though now I have this image in my head of Jack kicking Ash in the ribs yelling "WHERE WAS HE WHEN I NEEDED HIM, HUH? WHERE!?!"
Is it me, or did I just make Mass Effect a little darker?

As we've often debated in here, the neutral and negative responses tend to work best with Jack - just move around through those and you'll get something neither drippy nor creepy... I call it Poke Jack with a Stick time, myself; Shep goes down there and spars with her verbally to crack all that armor and find out what the woman underneath is really like, because that's what interests him. He knows there's a lot of front and a lot of bullsh*t with Jack, but it's the fact he sees a woman underneath that he wants to find out more about, not to try and do some kind of social work for, but just to see who she really is... and the more he sees, the more he's attracted to her. Maybe on some level her vulnerability is appealing, but on the other, she speaks her mind, she isn't in awe of Shep like everyone else, and as mixed up as she is she is pretty consistant. Add easy on the eyes to that, and you can do the math. It doesn't have to seem exploitative of a vulnerable woman if you pick your way through the dialogue carefully.
As for the tears... most of us in here anyway don't read that scene as representing anything more than some PG13-rated intimacy. You hit the NC-17 if you survive the Omega 4

Trick question! If it involves James Bond, sex is a given.
And on-topic: I would really like to see how the Alliance reacts to Jack being on Shepard's crew. Given that shot of her wanted poster that you see in the LotSB DLC, it's clear that people are looking for her. Then again, I can imagine Shep telling his crew to get lost before the trial specifically so that those who might be wanted for crimes (Jack, Thane, Kasumi, Zaeed, Miranda, Jacob... um...) could avoid incarceration.

I'd have my BFF, THE GODDAMN SHADOW BROKER illiminate all knowledge of Jack
Have Jack go off the grid or even fake her death and poof! Subject Zero/Jack never existed
Now let me introduce you to my new French girlfriend Jaqueline Nought.

You know, Liara would probably do that, and more, without you so much as breathing a word about it.
That's how much she's interested in Shepard.

For me (and it doesn't boil my blood) it's a few lines at the tail-end.Confused-Shepard wrote...

---------------
Jack It's just going to hurt. Or you'll mess around. I'll end up killing you or something.
Shepard: And?
Jack: And that sucks!
Shepard: So it'll suck. But how much fun is it going to be along the way?
---------------

He says so many sweet things, several in that same conversation, that imply he's committed to being with her, then he reaffirms that belief with some of the lightheartedness that you see in a lot of their convos. I know he doesn't mean that it will suck, that he'll cheat on her, she'll kill him, etc, and the romance scene confirms this, but I thought genuineness would have been better per the situation.
