What would a "reward" be for letting Jack kill Aresh?

I think he just wanted to say that we don't need to import a perfect "everybody survives" save to enjoy Mass Effect 3.

Jack offs people with complete impunity because you've demonstrated to her that that's what you expect of her? Some moron start's arguing with you - bam - they get ventilated. Conrad Verner harasses you, she curbstomps his ass to death... something like that maybe?

I remember the issue with having so many Sheps, I forgot which ones had taken the initiative in taking out Dr Saleon in Garrus's extra-credit mission. There were a few times where I said to Garrus there was another way to deal with Sidonis opposed to just wacking him and he got all indignant about how I'd show him that offing people was an answer to everything... I'm wondering if Shep is going to find him/herselfin an opposite place where he might be about to off someone, and Jack says to him/her is this the only way to do this. To me, that would be awesome - have characters you're influenced call you on being inconsistant.

I had no idea he did that. I suppose he also calls you out if you "pardon" Saleon and then let him kill Sadonis?

That's very interesting, and we shouldn't be surprised if we see a ton more of that in ME3 with everyone returning.

Just by the order of his sentences I thought he meant you'll get a reward for getting squaddies killed. So I hope your right. Maker I hope you're right. I was about to start my failthrough

No doubt people will be killing off every squaddie assuming the same thing I did.

But wait, I thought they stated that people with dead squadmates in ME3 would have a difficult time?  Maybe that's the "reward"...

EDIT: I still don't get why there's a "reward" for ****ing up.

Maybe you get some super cool secret squadmates who only show up when your ME2 squadmates died.

Or it could be that theory floating around where you run into the dearly departed's next of kin. A nice conversation or maybe a little fetch quest. Garrus' dad is gonna be so mad at me.

He said a reward for each decision you make, but it was right after he said "something will change in ME3 if someone dies." I understand still being able to finish the game, but an actual reward system?

Yeah like....uhh....Murtock?

oooo, and now I just had the thought of a beat-up and bedraggled Murtock looking for Jack and Shepard has nothing but bad news :pinched:

Shepard: "You and Jack really got screwed, man."

OK, there seems to be some confusion about Man-Giraffe-Dog on the forums, notably that it just looks like a Giraffe-Dog. Well... that's the POINT. Why do you think I'm the only one warning you. It's disguised as a Giraffe-Dog until it's ready to take over the world.
OK this is how Man-Giraffe-Dog came to be:
Posted Image

While growing up it was spotted in the wild (but the team was all killed by it and the photos were recovered afterwards)
Posted Image

After which it began its infiltration of humanity, disguised as Giraffe-Dog:
Posted Image

Which leaves us here. Man-Giraffe-Dog is poised to attack and destroy humanity and I'm trying to warn everyone before it's too late. This is totally serial guys. You need to prepare.

Excelsior!

...and confirms (like PS3Mag) Jack's presence (she "decided to put on a shirt" and her head is "not as shaved as it used to be").

While design changes may bother me, Jack in a cute sundress is still Jack. Bubbly, upbeat, pleasant Jack is not Jack. Even if it's been only two or three months since the events of ME3, Jack somehow quickly growing her hair out can be brushed off as a change in design. Jack's character changing dramatically is a character overhaul. That would bother me.

Yeah, my excitement over hearing, "Yay, Jack's definitely in there!" very much outweighs any disappointment over any superficial physical changes.  I don't want to be like the folks freaking out over Ashley because she let her hair down and has different clothing on; like you say, a Jack with hair is still Jack.

I'll get worried when we get another "Fight for the Lost" style CGI trailer where Jack stares into the camera and coos, "I like puppies.  Soft, cuddly puppies."  Until then, I'm letting my optimism get the best of me and assume that BioWare knows what they're doing, and not letting a few little redesigns of the character get me worried.

Almost 800 pages on Jack!
I'll join in late and say Jack was just OK as a party member and a subplot character, but could have been awesome:
- If she were more like Yukio/Storm with area effect powers of sheer destruction (shockwave pushing, stunning and/or killing everything in a 10m radius around her), and psionic manupulation of enemies (mesmerize/charm/mind control any enemy instead of Tali)
- If she didn't need guns to kill people. She escaped killing everyone she saw without weapons in the back-stories. She probably would require more effort to shoot a gun than just kill someone with a thought.
- If she didn't talk as much!
- If they actually showed her destroying three heavy mechs at once with all her leet skills when she escaped.
-If Shep could have then followed her through the prison station, chased after her (isn't that what we were doing anyway?) and been able to see her destroy s*** just ahead as she tore her way out through the guards. This would have been fairly easy to do in UnrealEditor, to be able to see her blowing stuff up just ahead of Shep.

All bark and no bite is not a cool character. The voice actress had it close, but there was no kickass psionic power in the game that gave all the talk any backup. Very sad.

Jack's best moment: flicking her lighter with that deep facial expression. NO WORDS, only a brooding look and big explosions. That was cool. More of that please!

Looks: she's fine with the tats, but her clothes need work. Jack needs a pixie cut and a reverse bikini top. One that shows her chest but nothing else. Haha. Or Lilu's Thermal Bandages, black leather bondage straps? Yeah. Something with style that's pleaseing to the eye, but naughty. She's not a carpenter... lose the carpenter pants and give us tight leather!

Psychologically, people who do not want others to like them because they are unable to care tend to act accordingly. Sociopathy I believe it's called. Jack has destroyed enough lives, whether rightfully so or not, to make her hated and feared, just like she wants. Therefore, any outward expression of that is false, redundant, and unrealistic. She should look bad and be seductive, or look good and be stand-off-ish. That's how people work. The sociopathic profile includes deception, manipulation, falsehood, etc. but Jack is so obvious, honest and truthful that she realistically is incapable of mass murder.

LOL I guess I had something to say.

@MajFauxPas,

Biotics don't work that way - they're just mass-manipulation (what's a Yukio?). Gameplay mechanics don't reflect the actual power and abilities of a character. If Jack were as powerful on missions as she actually is, Shepard wouldn't need to bring anyone else. Guns are always useful to biotics, because using biotics is tiring. That's two forms of offense, instead of just one. Jack talked too much? Jack's both hilarious and expressive.

You know technically she can put on a shirt even in Mass Effect 2. I spent most of the second half of the game with her in her alternate outfit.

Makes no difference to me.

Jack makes for awesome fanart possibilities with or without a redesign.

I'm almost excited to see her in a new Blur ME3 trailer, if they're able to get a modeller who can replicate the awesomeness that was Sze Jones.

No, see, this would be awesome because what you're imagining right now is the CGI trailer they already did of Jack where she snarls into the screen "I like puppies. Soft, cuddly puppies."
