Good point. Based on some select dialogue you can choose in the ME2 love triangles, I wouldn't be surprised if you could tell Jack something like "I'm just cleaning house before starting something with Ashley"

I still prefer the shaved look, but yeah, the other'll work too.

Indeed. But considering the facts we've been given and the soul-searching I've gone through because of them, I've come to the realization that Jack could pull off any look with that personality. Seriously, look at all 14 of those concepts and imagine each Jack saying "You can thrive here if you're strong and ruthless. I like it". Each one is now cool. 15 counting the sundress.

That all works just great, but those big clunky boots. Does she have gravity issues? So if HAD to have a problem
or fashion suggestion it would be on that end.

Everything about Jack's style is for survival. The hair gets in the way and is bothersome, shave it off (also, looking like a woman makes you look vulnerable). The tattoos have sentimental value and are also a good warning and intimidation technique. The boots are multipurpose. Need to trek through mud as you flee a scene? Check. Curb stomp a Cerberus b!tch? Check. Swim across a lake? Swimming only slows you down :P

I believe she says this during the collector ship mission after EDI informs you that the Illusive Man knew it was a trap.

I assumed that was it, but I was confused by the "Cerberus" part cuz I thought she was talking about TIM specifically cuz doesn't she say "I will have his head!"?

I solved this one, she says "I knew Cerberus would screw me again. I will have his head!"

 About that punk quote....

This is the full quote from art director Derek Watts:

"She's matured," admits Art Director Derek Watts, "maybe she's softened up a bit.  You can only stay punk rock for so long, you know.  Even Johnny Rotten eventually goes, 'I've got to do something different'.  She'd get tired of walking around completely naked and she'd probably grow her hair out, but she's still Jack and still kinda punk - shaved at the sides with a ponytail at the back"

Have you exhausted all of her other dialogue?  If so, I don't think so.  Welcome to "Calibrations," Jack-style.

An idea: The devs want to change her look. Some of us want it to stay the same, while others want it to change. To please everyone, why not make an option like the outfit system in ME2? I mean, how much work would it be to include the old code for her current appearance alongside what they've developed for the new look?

I personally think you should be able to choose your squad's 'casual' look on the ship, like Shepard's, and you should also be able to change their equipment out in the field. That way we can keep the impractical catsuits and belt-bras and in Jacob's case wedgie-inducing spandex, but there's a stronger sense of realism to the groundside stuff.

I'm not keen on her being 'softened'.
The reason I romanced her was because I liked the way she was, not because I wanted her to become something else.

However, since we have minimal knowledge of how much of a change she's under gone I won't be annoyed just yet.

@fainmaca

I suspect with the RPG elements being elevated from ME2, I suspect we will be able to do that, or at least have more outfits to choose from.

Really? You told me she had 2 lines based on if you chose renegade/paragon? I thought it would make more sense if she said "I knew The Illusive Man would screw me again. I will have his head!" but if that's the line then I guess she's indirectly referring to him when she says Cerberus, even though he's only one head of one Cerby Cell, no?

I know she doesn't have a friendship path, but I will find another way!

Has everyone heard this?

The voice acting. Omfg, how does Courtenay do it? The subtle and thoughtful tone, the voice cracking at the right time. Even though these are "rejected" lines, they have to be one of my favorites for how perfectly she delivered them.

Nobody touches the boots.

Nobody.

I agree, those boots are awesome :D look like she can stomp you to death with them.

Quick, let's make a "Jack's boots as squadmate and LI for ME3" banner!! :-)

And remember to use the [SPOILER] tag when needed!

Her lines in the first conversation are dripping with tsundere-ness.  Ms. Taylor is awesome.

That's what I thought, my bad. TIM micromanages all Cerberus cells. And I give you a guarantee on that, just in case your worried.;)

I hope it's a subtle change, because I basically enjoy Jack the way she is. Issues and all.

Like, if they make her less "childish" than she was, I'm fine with that. But they'll do her a great disservice if they take away stuff like her bitingly sarcastic remarks and occaisional bouts of anger.

Goat_Shepard wrote...Again, it may seem meager, but I'm gunna play KOTOR sooner knowing this information :P

Do it. KOTOR is still BW's best work, and KOTOR II is a worthy follow up title. I've still to see an RPG with better dialogue than those two games.

But I am now convinced Juhani is Jack's design template.

Both had severe anger issues.
Both were extremely well gifted.
Both came from awful back grounds (sex slaves, prisoners, etc).
Both had the same voice actress.

I could have sworn from EDI's dialogue that the chain of command wasn't atypical, so TIM wasn't "the leader of Cerberus" or something to that effect. I'll take your word on it since I don't remember.

I do remember hearing that TIM will only manage up to I think a dozen cells because more "would strain his ability to micromanage" so the fact he didn't know the full details of Teltin proves that he needs to lower that number cuz obviously his little brain couldn't keep up.

You mean on Purgatory or on the Normandy? Both gave me that impression.

Ms. Taylor is awesome.

Indeed. According to her she is a professional mouth

I went here and listened to the clips and Highway Safety scared me both for how good it was and how close to Jack she sounded.

@100k
Wow, so not only does she voice Juhani but she's also similar to Jack? Maybe she'll curse and b!tch at me the same way :innocent: I can hardly wait.

Hell, it's one of the reasons I wanted Jack back so badly. You do realize that if you have FemShep, Kaidan and Jack in your party, it's Bastila, Carth and Juhani? DAMMIT, I WANT MY KOTOR REUNION!

As for the upcoming "attitude adjustment," I, for one, am all for it.  The main thing that drew me to Jack as a character was that she was in the middle of something deeply profound when the game ended.  I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

lol maybe if femshep sounded even remotely like Bastila that would be very appealing.

Good point. A lot of the LI ended the game at a critical point in character development. Jack only talked about the damn CB afterwards when I wanted to talk about our feelings! :crying:

Don't know where this is from, unless its when EDI says that TIM still has to answer to his shareholders.

This is what I based my guarantee on.

I always felt that TIM knew what was happening at Teltin, there's no context for that recording, for all we know it was just two low level guys talking. And only the project lead would know what TIM was informed of, and what he was not.

I have a crazy conspiracy for that too, feel free to tell me its nonesense. What if that recording was planted there? TIM gave Shep the dossiers he knows they all have issues that need dealing with. I'm sure he'd know that's where Jack would want to go, so he leaves this recording, just to put some doubt into all that hear it.

Arrgh! You're pickin my brain, Slotts!

I could totally see that. It wouldn't be difficult to discern that Teltin would be a hot topic due to Jack working with Cerberus, and it wouldn't be difficult to plant that, either.

Still a bit farfetched, though. Wasn't the guy in the recording the same one who talked about which experiments they weren't going to do on Jack? Sounded like the project lead or his 2nd or something. It's all moot imo. TIM knew everything "right up until the riots" and "ordered it shut down" before they started. He doesn't even mention Subject Zero he just says he ordered the facility to be shut down just before it reached it's maximum level of Evil, right? Like that's supposed to make me forgive you?

Ohh, man, TIM better not be a husk. Killing a shell of TIM would not satisfy me or Jack.
