So... More classic Jack lines.
"If I die I'm haunting you, Shepard."
"Your big mission has gone to sh*t, Shepard. If I live I'm going to kill you!"
Reminds me of Wrex saying "If I die I'll kill you" line on Therum (not sure about exact words though).
BTW when does she say the second line who wrote? (The first one is during combat, when she's low on health iirc).

I just read this, but apparently Jacks softer and more mature in ME3. Not sure how to feel about that.
We're using [SPOILER] tags for info about ME3.
And yeah, I don't know what to think, yet. Maybe we'll see her new physical design at E3.

Its during the "hold the line" section of the suicide mission, when Shepard radios in to see how things are going. I don't know what exactly triggers it, other that just a general tanking of the mission. I've heard it twice, and both times she survived.
I thought that one was:
"Jack here. I'm hitting them as they come, but feel free to help out anytime!"
That's somewhat along the lines of what I got, when Shepard checked in.

That's what she says if your doing the mission properly.

I can barely take Wrex seriously at all cuz of that line. "If I die in here I'll kill him!". Jack actually made sense and I wanna hear that lineEpantiras wrote...

heh tank the mission often? I heard it from either Thane or Zaeed all 6 playthroughs. Who did you choose for the assignments and your squad when you fight the H.Reaper? Anyone dead? Maybe there's a correlation.GeneralSlotts193 wrote...

I feel stupid for not thinking of that. Good one axlaxl99 wrote...

I'm fine with the "maturing" and "softerness" of Jack as long as it's not overdone. Obviously I expect some painfully tender moments and more tears (from all 3 of us), but if it turns into a soap opera or she gets philosophical or sobs whenever Shepard compliments her I may double-back for a sec

Yep, you always experience something new. For instance, guess who shouts down Miranda when she volunteers herself as fireteam leader after Jack and Garrus........................drum roll please, and the answer is Jacob. But he's very polite and he doesn't bad mouth her at all, very disappointing. I hoped he would say something like this, and I apologize in advance, "I've been in your shadow long enough, now its my time too shine... But the prize."
Just in case your wondering he actually says, "Uh Miranda, you know I trust you but no one else does." See, very disappointing.

I get Thane a lot too, for me its either him or Jack. I usually have Jack or Thane in my party but rarely at the same time.
And for assignments, I brought a loyal Samara and a non loyal Garrus to fight the Reaper, with loyal Jack and not loyal Miranda and Tali holding the line. Tali died in its defence.

At some point someone new will browse the Jack thread, and all the text will be black, no warnings of spoilers because we will have moved beyond that. They'll thing its some secret code, and maybe by then it will be.

I like this
problem is, sometimes when quoting or editing posts, the forum forgets the original font color and goes back to default (derp). Remember to proofread before posting - that includes myself, since I usually proofread only AFTER pressing the "submit" button

It goes Thane -> Jack -> Garrus, I think, I forget who comes after them since all 3 have never been absent from the line at once in my games. Or maybe I got Garrus and Jack backwards, I forget.GeneralSlotts193 wrote...

Someone like Jacob saying nobody trusts her is a big deal, cuz Jack and Garrus aren't Cerberus so when they say nobody wants to take orders from her it can be dismissed as "oh they're anti-Cerberus", but if Cerberus says that nobody trusts her, then it's a knife in the gut.GeneralSlotts193 wrote...

Interesting, and even tho Thane was holding the line, Jack got the prompt? Maybe there are many factors such as loyalty. I might try taking Thane and Garrus to the H.Reaper and see what happens.I get Thane a lot too, for me its either him or Jack. I usually have Jack or Thane in my party but rarely at the same time.

True, I wasn't thinking about it like that.

My comment about Jack or Thane getting the call was separate from my tanking playthrough. Thane was dead for that, with just Jack, Miranda and Tali holding the line.
Or maybe I'll take Jack and Jack and leave Jack to hold the line
I think that would work.

Jack is one of the NPCs my canon Shep felt like she could relate the most because of her sole survivor background. She took things very slowly with her and did not try to save her or anger her. Being stranded on a Cerberus ship appereared to make her anger understandable. Plus she had no reason to go and save the world ( its not her job, no one is paying her, she wont get her face in the news, shes not helping a friend, noone ever helped her out before, etc.) so that made her character very interesting. Why was she fighting at my side after all ?
But somehow, not having a friendship path made me feel like wasting a very good character because i cant say it would be a good idea to have her back on the ship. What would she do in a military operation ? Even if i want to trust her i dont have much base to vouch for her that she wont make troubles. Hell i dont even think she would like to be on a military ship...
I certainly hope she will be doing something great for her cameo and that we will get to share a laugh together. shes not the BFF type of girl but i think she still could handle some sort of relationship with FemShep. Something more then '****** off' for sure.
shes one of the character im looking forward to the most what ever happens

Of course, Shepard has to earn that trust, and you take a huge step towards that when you take her to Pragia. Already you've done something for her that nobody else would, whether your paragon/renegade, male/female, w/e. I hope Jack reacts differently if you treat her like crap, but one reason I think she'll be "softer" no matter what happens is that in ME1, if you're an **** to Ashley, Garrus, Tali, and Liara (Wrex too?), they still adore you in ME2 like you were best pals. It's just writing/resource constraints, so it's understandable, and I fear it'll be no different in ME3. I can be pleasantly surprised thozvbxrpl wrote...

Also, the new hairstyle by the definition is anything but conventional. As for the outfit, who knows, it'll prolly be somewhere in between orthodox and Jack's default ME2 outfit.
@outmane
I understand your concern, and I'm glad you look forward to Jack's continuation despite that. I wonder the same thing when we finish Pragia and I take her on every mission. Shepard gives her some classified data in exchange for doing one mission, but then I'm putting her in like four dozen seperate situations with high risks of fatality PLUS the SM. Just sort of felt like I was taking advantage. From a story perspective, it means Jack keeps her promises (or at least that one), and/or she really values that data, and is willing to risk a suicide mission to have it. If she were truly ruthless she'd take off at the next place you docked after getting the data thinking "hah, what a sucker!", so kudos to her
Now bear with me, I haven't played ME2 as femShep, but I have tried friendship with her as maleShep, and I think it's because of the fact Jack isn't into the "BFF" thing that she is standoffish to anyone who doesn't/can't romance her. You're not there for sex, she doesn't do friends, so the convo ends. She likes you, but she's not gonna open up about Murtock, and I won't fault her for putting me and my prodding questions at arm's length. She already told me more than I thought she would. JMO, obviously.
And I, too, feel like Jack's a special person to relate to for a sole survivor. I mean, she's a sole survivor, it's right in the name.

I remember we were discussing the same thing months ago, but it's still an interesting discussion nonetheless :-)
I thought it was her translator, but someone pointed out that the ME1 manual states that biotic amps are "small electronic attachments that are worn on a Biotic's ear or the back of their head."
I think we have a good explaination here - and shame on me for not remembering that part of the manual!

I always thought it was an amp, or an earpiece.
