I like the idea of ME2 discussion here, ME3 discussion there. Some ME2 threads have "retired" because they talk about ME2 and ME3-spoilers in the same thread, and not everyone wants that. Actually the only person I'm concerned for is Epants but I think she's given up on avoiding spoilers :P

And yes, it appears there was more to Jack this thread than people thought

@Jake

The same can be said for you. But alas, you are all grown ups who have actual responsibilities in the "feel world". That or it is exhaustion, cuz I still see ppl like Mondo in other threads.

This sounds like a good idea that I'd gladly get behind, but keep in mind that this thread is just losing members and its not gaining any new recruits.

And I don't think Epantiras ever cared about spoilers herself. It was my understanding that she was fighting the good fight for those that wanted to avoid them, Batlass being the only one that I can remember but there were others.

Shameless plug to help keep the Jack thread afloat!

The latest chapter of my fic, Into the Unknown, is now up. In this chapter, I have a short section dedicated to Jack developing a new friendship, and I introduce a new OC from her past. Please, tell me what you think!

I chose that example because it was really the only time you could be renegade. The other renegade options during the LM are "It looks like there was a lot you didn't know", "This whole place was built to turn you into what you are", and "You couldn't have known". The only time I remember being able to give her sh!t about "whining about being the worst off kid" was after her LM, and I don't see that one as valid.

I think we were posting at crossed purposes here. I'll therefore leave it at that.

I've tried starting new things on Jack, only to be met with resounding silences, "Speculation?  This thread isn't for speculating on things that might of been, only things we can be obvious about!" or "we've already talked about that, and your ideas are irrelevant because Mondo/Royce/York clearly states on page 300 that s/he thinks..."

What's the point in the face of that?

Doesn't really matter though.  If this thread dies, well, hell, it had a good run, and can boast smarter contributors than most, that's for damn sure.

All we can do is hope Bioware doesn't butcher her to appease the ass hole "She's hot but change all of this before we'll accept her," crowd.  Fvck those schmucks!

I have an uneasy feeling, however, that it isn't meant to be.

*Shrug*
More people are demanding a wedding (*gag* - you don't have to wrack your brain to guess to whom) as a possible game ending than are to see Jack come back, anyway.

In the end it's all about the cash, regardless, so EA and BW will do whatever gets them the most of that, content be damned.   It's just a pity that such a relatively multilayered and potentially rich character like Jack has to drown under the tidal wave of Mirititty-envy and Taliarrhea.

In the end, shallow wins.  Shallow always wins.

This thread could have had a thousand pages easy - if the majority of us did nothing but chat or gush.  Nothing to be ashamed of in the not doing of it.  For the most part, this thread has had quality over quantity and I'll take that anyday of the frigg'n week.

I find it odd that she's been exhausted already, however.  Most curious.  I suppose since Mondo, Epantrias and the other "leaders" of the thread have buggered off, people figure there's no point.

Alas.

I can only assume by other "leaders", that you meant myself? :D

Yo, I'm always up for renewing old subjects. It only gets old if the same opinions are suggested.

I doubt I gave my word on half of the topics brought up for Jack, anyway. But if the thread dies, then it dies. Doesn't mean the cult is done. It means we're content...For now, at least.

Wait until something about her pops up. We've still got a long way to go before ME3's release.

Indeedy.  I'm in no rush.  If I think of something I think is new and worth exploring, I'll give it a go.  Kinda bouncing between Crysis 2 (likes to crash alot - buggy as hell update, pretty, but boring - it reminded me waaaaay too much of Bulletstorm - far too many story simularities) and F.E.A.R. 3 (not even remotely scary at all, even with John Carpenter helping out, fun as fuk though, tougher than I'd thought it'd be, I recommend it if you like shooters, although the ending reminds me a little too much of ME2 for my liking.) at the moment, so my mind is far from ME2 or 3.

Even minor changes are going to raise the sh!t-spitt'n a-holes' ire no matter what that entails.  I've said it before and I'll say it again:  if it's valid for both the character and the story for Jack to have major changes or a "sudden" personality shift, fine, I'll not say a word - as long as it's valid.

But hey, you know what they say - money talks and bullsh!t walks.  Guess we'll see.

It's hard to find stuff to talk about in this thread, and in the thread on the ME3 forum. By now, we've discussed everything there is to discuss about Jack, in ME2, and we haven't heard anything new about Jack in ME3 for quite a while.

Yeah, I get you. I'm currently thinking about games that haven't even been released yet. One of which comes out a month from now.

@York, touching on all subjects wouldn't be as much of a problem if there were fresh opinions. At least, in my view, it's not.

Yeah, pretty much. I don't think this thread can go much further since it's only for ME2.
I think when ME3 comes out, it will give us a lot more insight into Jack's past and into ME2, but obviously it would have to be discussed in an ME3 thread.
This thread seems to only be good for fan art and fanfics now.

*puff puff* Just read through 818 pages. Feels like a marathon!

I am quite impressed this thread does exist - I mean, I know, Talimancers and stuff... But yay, keep the Jack love alive! I always bring her along on missions, and recently decided to make a Maleshep character who romances Ash and then Jack. I wanna see the fireworks!

Of course, since I did not want to play ME1 again, I had to download and edit a save file :( It's always so difficult to find one  exactly the way I want!

So, hi guys! Another Jack lover here :) Where do I sign up? ^_^

Also,

I think Kyrene was talking about the "online dialogue tree" that can be found at the bottom of the OP for the Miranda ME3 character thread.

Oh, I wonder if there are trees for the rest of the team? I would like to see what Jacob has to say (I haven't romanced him because I cringe every time my Femshep talks to him, but it would be fun to read it out...)

I'm actually in the midst of a playthrough right now. I'm trying to romance Jack for the first time. I've romanced all the other women in ME2. All except Jack. I used to hate Jack's character but now that I'm trying to break her down and get to know her, I really like what Bioware did with the character.

Oh Yeah! Jack is back, baby!!! For one day only, her Me2 thread is back in business. Get in and make your points fast, because by tomorrow everyone we'll be going, going, gone to play ME3.

Sure, but it's a game with a great story, Jack aside. Which is why I am so disappointed that this awful character made its way into an otherwise excellent game.

You gotta be joking.. jack is one of the best characters if not the best character.

The only thing in me3 that was worse than not being able to have jack in my squad were the endings.
