Off the current topic but I have to mention it:

My favorite Jack line in the game might be the "So **** you, and thanks for asking" she gives you after one of the conversations. I think it sums her up quite nicely. Starts off with an insult, but gets to the gooey center after that :P

Haha ya that cracks me up everytime. If you had to choose one line of her's to describe her it would definitely be that one.

Hah, I find it amusing that a comment that's actually about Jack is now "off the current topic".

(Also I agree, I quite like that line myself).

Mine too. Actually, first playthrough of ME2, every single line of Jack's had me in stitches, this one especially (hell, I even cracked up everytime she said 'Yep'). Her brutal honesty makes me smile.

Oddly enough, if you do her loyalty mission first, she leaves off the "**** you" part.

My favorite little Jack-centric moment is where she calls Miranda out, saying she doesn't want to take orders from her before the suicide mission.

But what sells the shot isn't what Jack says. It's that Garrus is standing right next to her, shaking his head, as if to say "No, I'm not taking orders from Miranda either." Never fails to make me smile.

Is there a way to dictate which squadmate says the most lines on missions? I thought it was whichever one was selected first; but last time I tried that, Miranda steamrolled over all the lines, despite being selected second.

I do mix and match the crew up but I always catch myself clicking on Jack and Grunt almost immediately before I go out on the missions. I used to take Jack automatically on Grunt's loyalty mission but Zaeed seems better suited for the role provided I did his loyalty quest first.

At the part where you speak to Jack for the first time, on her recruitment mission, and she notices the Cerberus ship and asks if you think she's stupid, I said yes. I meant it, too. But I already knew I liked her.

I kinda thought beforehand that she would be more of a grower (which she apparently is for some people), but she made a pretty good first impression on me, somehow, even though the first thing she did was to pretty much call bull**** on me. That's probably why I liked her.

Yess, jack is really fine girl and a great character.

My fav: "So **** you, and thanks for asking"

Did any of you tried to end the "romance" with her in a light/mild tone?

I went for "you're taking too long", "I got other options" and "you're better off without me messing in your head". Now all she says is "F*CK OFF!". Will this change? Or am I deleted in her eyes?

What Mondo did was very good, and it wasn't exactly like a fanfic with all the, "And the wind blowing like a warm summer night," crap. It was just a well thought out conversation between two characters. Not some overdramatic soap opera. I really liked it.

Agreed. It didn't end with Jack and Miranda bumpin' uglies either, so it's automatically miles better than any other similar stuff I had the misfortune of reading. .. Keep up the good work Mondo. ^_^

"No way I'm
letting the reapers turn me into a f***ed-up bug thing!" is probably my
favourite so far. Or, "He was already dead, he just didn't know it". Still playing through with her though, so I haven't
heard most of her lines yet.

Miranda steamrollers everything... take her on a mission, she nabs all the dialogue, take her on the last stage of the mission to take out Iron Baby Cthulhu and she always needs catching (I think she throws herself down that platform on purpose, bloody drama queen)... I think the game just rolls over for her because she is Shepard's second in command, after all (yeah, dream on girl).

Hate to say it, but you blown it, dude... Jack's an all or nothing kinda gal. Or rather all or a mouthful of abuse every time you try and patch things up. That 'I've got other options' line is certainly one of Shep's douche-ier moments... it's like saying "Hey, make your mind up what you want, or I can just go and **** the chick upstairs with the bucket on her head... no skin off my hump."

The art of romance is not dead with Shep it seems :D

So why didnt BW implement some nicer responces, meaning on a frind-friend basis, leaving only "lets ****" or **** off" attitude? Or did I miss some dialogue option?

It's one of the things they missed out on in almost all the LIs if you ask me... you opt not for boning Garrus, and he's right back on those calibrations, you spend too much time with Tali and Miranda gets into the hardcore paperwork for the rest of the mission. It's just a missed op on Bioware's part, hopefully something they'll address in ME3 or in DLC...

Femme-Sheps have it worst of all with Jack, really... mine wanted to be her friend, but instead I got a slightly-more-polite-****-off due to not having Jack's prefered equipment as standard... :(

The only way you can avoid romance without being a complete douche is in the conversation immediatley after her loyalty mission, where she asks if you have feelings for her or not.
Pick 'No' (as paragon and neutral options still lead to romance), then she replies that she didn't want Shep coming around anyway. The renegade reply to that is Shep agreeing and stating that their relationship will just be business. The paragon reply still leads to romance.

There is no friend zone with Jack. It makes me sad.

I always felt quite friendly with Jack when playing my female Shepard, but this is most likely due to personal interpretation.

Now I see, I tried to be neutral/paragon to get to know her story without the LI option...for f*cks sake, BW should know better!

Oh, well I think I'll have to revert to some save after I finish the game and see where the story goes with Jack from there :) and make it up to her ;)

This is rather irritating coz the thing with Miranda went (OMG, I accually wrote "wet" instead of went XD) rather smoothly.

Talking with all the women I chose Tali (due to convo style, richer background etc, all to my liking), although I find all the stories pretty good. Samara got me thinking when talking about humans and observing them - and her stance, plus tragic mother-child relations. Miranda is a funny girl, lost in space, hiding behind proffesionalism...and Jack, a mad animal who recived only sharp end of the stick...all of them got intriguing stories, but for some reasons to get to know them you have to romance 'em. End most of 'em have a soft spot for'im. C'mon, Elgyn Shepard aint that good looking...

:)

Apparently the name 'Shepard' contains a subliminal cue that convinces the person hearing the name that the Shepard in question is actually extremely attractive, funny, charismatic, charming, and sensational in bed...

what 'bout Commander? :P

Miranda uses formal a lot.

While Tali goes with mild Shepard...

Jack prefers the basic F*cker though.

I did a lot of testing to try to figure this out. The order at which you choose your two squadmates to bring with you does nothing except change where they stand during dialogue. There are two "paths" of dialogue for your squadmates. I like to refer to them as the primary and secondary path. The primary path generally has more lines. But what I found out is that certain squadmates trump other squadmates for the primary path. Like if you take Miranda and Jack, Miranda will always get the primary path. But if you take Jack and Grunt, Jack always gets the primary path. I also found out that Jacob, Zaeed, and Mordin all take the primary path if you bring Jack.

I take all the quarian background and her loyalty mission in concideration :)

The cool hook in the story is weather quarinas will march to war, reclaim homeworld, get decimated, or forge an alliance with the geth...and PC role in the future events :)

So yeah, works for me as richer...

Yeah, but with Jack, though, there are a ton of options on how to talk to her in the romance. You can get your Good Samaritan on, with your Paragon options, try to out-cool her with neutral or challenge her with renegade (provided, of course, you don't get into the fling and screw the whole enterprise).

There are a lot of virtues with the Tali relationship... But there's only one way to talk to her. And where's the fun in that?
