Definitely my favorite character in the game (well, tied with Mordin). Great recruitment and loyalty missions, providing a sense of excitement and interest. A standout design, visually, as I've always preferred a grittier look to the sci-fi stuff. Personality-wise, the one I sympathized with most. I'm amused when I see people's main criticism of the character being that it's cliché. Really? Every NPC you can recruit is, to varying degrees. Garrus' history for instance mirrors the plot of just about every Steven Seagal movie made, lol. However, to be fair, the paragon "romance" storyline was very predictable, but I don't feel that detracted too badly from the overall presentation/development/execution.

You know what sucked, for was in my first play through i romanced Jack and found her very interesting and awsome as a character compared to the other romances, but in the end i messed up and didn't realize there was an armor upgrade for the Normandy so when she died my jaw dropped and i became very sad. Although i got revenge on those collector ****s and blew them to hell. It was intense to realize i had screwed up and killed Suze, saddest moment so far in a video game.

Yeah that is the moment when I would have re-loaded my save game and gone to get that upgrade, yessir.
Mark my words... if Jack isn't in ME3 I am SO going to complain on the internet.

Originally put this in the Miranda thread, but makes as much sense here...I actually the two characters have quite a few similarities.



They both have the same fundamental characteristic: they've both been treated mostly as objects or tools, and they both avoid intimacy. Miranda's been treated better overall because she's a particularly VALUABLE tool, but she's not really valued for the person she is. Jack is a test subject for Cerberus, and when she escapes the people she falls in with don't seem to quite realize that they have the most powerful human biotic. All Jack's 'friends' try to use her, and end up betraying her in the end.



And both of them, as a result, avoid relationships and intimacy. They have different strategies for doing so. For Miranda's it's her icey demeanour ("I'm not looking for a friend", she says almost right when you meet her.) Jack, on the other hand, approaches sex casually, using physical intimacy to avoid emotional intimacy (and admits as much later on in a heartbreaking scene...)



There's clearly a major difference of degree; Miranda's father didn't treat her well, but it's a far cry from the lab where Jack was kept. And whatever Miranda had with Niket and Jacob was a lot more stable, normal, and healthy then almost any relationship Jack ever had. But still, I feel like the two characters have a lot in common. Which might be part of why they intuitively dislike each other.

I was wondering where the Jack support was. Jack rocks. The romance was a little disappointing, but it was still fun.

Jack was defo one of my favorite characters. I'm starting to think that the people who are dissing on her didn't talk to her enough. Though to really get to know her you have to do the paragon romance with her. I hope she can be a squad member/LI in me3 as well.

jack is a verry well excuted one, and ehr sub plot was easily one of the best there was

Sometimes, the internets scare me.

I ALMOST feel like Jack (Renegade) and Jack (Paragon) should be seperate poll options. I really like the more dynamic romance path she has.

Indeed. I thought Jack's "typical troubled teen" was simply miles more interesting than the "naive young woman who gets saved by a dashing commander and then goes off to save the galaxy" (Tali's own words), or the Ice Queen with DD's and daddy problems.

They're all cliches when you summarize them a sentence or two. Jack's was just the most interesting and emotional execution of her assigned archetype.

I was replused by her, and I am not talking about her looks. It was funny to find her winny "I had it so bad!" was based on false perception and the kids that she killed actually had it worse.
