I've been able to re-enable partial 360 gamepad support, like i did on ME 1 PC (it's still using the unreal engine).

It's still very basic and should be considered beta (if not alpha). The game does not respond to inputs from the gamepad in menus for now, so you'll still have to navigate them with the mouse.

Just unzip and replace the Coalesced.ini file in your \\Program Files(x86)\\Mass Effect 2\\BioGame\\Config\\PC\\Cooked\\ folder (**please make a backup of the original file before in case something goes wrong, i am NOT responsible for any data loss).

You can get the file here: >>> http://www.megaupload.com/?d=TN4ECPIO <<<

Thanks.

EDIT: Just tried it, and it works. Even shows 360 buttons. Please keep working on this.

Someone at gamefaqs.com has been working on this as well,

Soulfly28 wrote...

So here is my mod for xbox 360 controller support, some things aren't
still working, as I'm gotta stuck with these and I don't know a way out.

Working: Full Movement, running, hiding, aiming, shooting, commanding squad, hud
Menues are working with controller, too, but moving is inverted and I don't know why.
Also
conversations aren't working, cause controllerstick or mouse doesn't
seem to work anymore here. Even Trigger R1 and L1 are working, but you
couldn't change anything there :-(

Could somebody please help me with???

Maybe atari1980 can have a look at what he's managed to do and combine and adapt it?

Hi Atari

im the guy who made below coalesced on the gamespot/gamefaq forums

Forumlink: http://www.gamespot....=944906&page=1.

Filelink: http://rapidshare.co...a_Coalesced.rar

I'm really hoping, that you can help me with this issue, as I think you
have more experience with this  than me, cause you did already very good job on
BioInput.ini for ME1. I prefered it pretty much.

I also wrote you PM's at meforums, but you didn't respond. Hope now you will...

Unfortunately i don't have ME2 anymore, i got lucky and futureshop gave me a full refund.

The 360 UI is much more broken on this one than it was in ME1 (most of the 360 stuff was left intact), Most of the UI still can be reactivated, but won't respond to any button presses, not even from the keyboard,. I was hoping i could at least bring back the 360 conversation wheel but theres no cursor to choose any answer.

I hope you'll succeed in bringing back 360 controller functionnality, good luck!

Just took a peek at your ini file, if you want to bring the 360 UI up, search for 'handlerlibrary' in coalesced.ini . The first list is the PC handlers library followed by the 360 ones.

So if you want to replace the PC HUD with the 360 one , you need to do something like that:

; HandlerLibrary=(Tag=HUD,     ZOrder=30, Handlerclass="SFXGame.SFXSFHandler_PCHUD",    PanelResource="GUI_SF_HUD.ME2_HUD")

followed by (taken from the second list)

HandlerLibrary=(Tag=HUD,    ZOrder=30, Platform=CONSOLE_Xbox360, Handlerclass="SFXGame.SFXSFHandler_HUD",  PanelResource="GUI_SF_HUD.ME2_HUD")

';' will make it like it's a comment, so if something breaks, you can just delete the 360 handler, remove the ';' in the first line to revert back to the PC handler.

handlerclass=" " is the UI coding part. panelresource=" " is mainly the panel artwork.

Hope this helps. Good Luck.

Hi Atari,

thanks for your help, got everything running well, except the weapon wheel,

which bothers me a lot, cause if this doesn't run, there's no possibility

to change weapons, any suggestions on how to solve this problem???

Were you able to enable gamepad in menus , and forcefeedback ?

As for the Weapon wheel it seem it has been completely removed, so i guess there'es nothing you can do about it ... That's the one thing i couldn't enable at all on ME1.

Hi,

Menues are running via gamepad with XBOX-Buttons on every menue.
Only issue is, that steering in the pause menue is inverted, and it's
little bit complicated to control, but it works.
Forcefeedback, I do not know, cause I didn't paid attention on that
till now.

Also Power Wheel isn't working. Game crashes if I change this to XBOX,
maybe ther is some coding or file for missing in the game. So you can use R1 and L1,
but there you cannot change something in team or weaponing.

EDIT: ForceFeedback not running till now....path is attached, but seems to have  no function.

yea forcefeedback/powerwheel may be entirely disabled/removed in the engine files.

It seems they have put more effort into removing the feature than what would have been required to just leave it in the code. The mouse/keyboard pc bindings (along with the 360 gamepad ones) are already in the xbox's coalesced.ini file.....

They  probably really didnt want us to use our evil 360 gamepad to play the pc version so pc users do not see it as a port, wich it is (obviously, if it wasnt a port there wouldnt be any 360 leftovers)

yeah, your speaking completely out of my mind...

bloddy basterds....but we're to clever for them, just

saw the relicts thy left back from X360....

I'll hope they will support gamepad onto ME3, don't

they see, that many users just want to play with pad???

Even though we're not in the 80's, where the only controlpanel

for PC's was keyboard and mouse. If they think so, they should even

go back to 16 colour graphics on EGA....... B-D

Is there an updated copy of this file so far since the last linked file updates? I just got a 360 gamepad wireless adapter and am trying to get all of my games to work with it, so far I have a good chunk. Too bad this isn't supported by default since it is a microsoft-only game.

If you want to use your 360 controller and don't want to mess with the files, like I did not. Go to xpadder.com. I think I paid $10 bucks for the full version, which gives you full updates for life. Now I can play any game that does not support gamepad. Also you can download profiles, hope this helps.

@girl666demon Xpadder and the likes only emulate the Keyboard and mouse.

Which means, any KB/M limitations will also crossover to your controller.

Built-in support in-game is ALWAYS the better option, as it allows for analouge movement, and overall a much better experience then emulation.

Games like Mass Effect and even first person shooters work a LOT better with built-in controller support than emulation.

Take Bioshock 1, for instance. It had 100% 360 controller support, mostly untouched from the 360 version of the game.

Bioshock 2 dropped it, for whatever stupid reason they had.

Xpadder CAN'T bring back the 360 interface that's built in to a game.

I know what I'm talking about, I tried Xpadder and built in-support, even modded.

Built-in is always the #1 choice.

hi atari1980.
soufly28 and me have worked very hard together on this project.
social.bioware.com/forum/Mass-Effect/Mass-Effect-2-PC-Technical-Support-Spoilers-Warning/Mod-Gamepad-360-beta-works-need-help-for-vibrations-1375781-1.html
I do not know if you remember, but I contact you to activate the vibration.
because it lacks that, for the mod is complete.
and of course, the textures powerwheels and weaponwheels that are unfortunately missing in the game, but it works.
just look the screen on the thread for explanations.;)
and also the menu options or the direction is reversed.
and the conversations works.
we could can be to put our joint efforts to make a version final.

sorry for my bad english.
