the only oen that can rival tali's popularity is garrus and MAYBE wrex but even then.....

Garrus is like, what, 30 pages?

Thread size is a difficult measure, though....some characters have several small threads. And it's not like it measures individual posters, either...the same 5-6 rabid fans could inflate a thread's postcount.

It's a little worrisome to think that a character I like might get relegated to a cameo just because he or she didn't have a gajillion forumites spamming the boards for him or her...but I suppose every character has their fans. (Even Kaiden Alenko, who I would not have expected.)

Lets put it this way. Tali has a post on here that has 4000 replies about who loves her and it got that high in days. Miranda is a great character but Tali has the fan following.

Tali is definitely the most popular by a mile. I'm honestly still a tad bit confused about why, but hey people like her and I'm cool with it.



I still like Miranda way more personally and that's all I have to say pretty much. So yea, keep Miranda for ME3.

Personal opinion, Tali is a cooler and way more developed character, Miranda seems like shallow fan service to me.

I remember a good ol' day when Tali was one of the LEAST popular characters... people liked poster-boy Garrus, cover-girl Ashley, lesbian alien Liara, and badass Wrex over the quirky helmet girl. I think only Kaiden was as unpopular.



But something changed. There was a shift and people began to dig deeper. Ashley was my favorite girl on my first play through and Tali my least favorite. Five playthroughs later and Tali to me is irresistible and Ashley comes across as an ignorant, xenophobic idiot that I regret not ditching on Virmire.

Maybe it's that Tali was inaccessible in ME1 and Liara has a much reduced role in ME2? Or are the hips and the pressure suite really all that?

I like Tali, and see why she's popular...I even see why the ME1 characters 'seem' overall more popular atm (we'll see the ME2 character fanbases rise, in time...)...still don't know why she's SO MUCH more popular then everyone else on the forums.

Even if there were more Miranda fans, Tali fans are easily more zealous. They'd sacrifice themselves just to defend her name.

Nobody's "fallen". She still has a boatload of fans, they just don't spam the forums every 2 seconds. The most vocal group creates the illusion of majority. This happens everywhere. Politics, school, war, TV, etc etc.

Tali converts people...I am one of them. I mostly ignored her in 1, and all of a sudden in 2 I like her a ton.



As to popularity, we Tali fans are at least more vocal.

Agreed. That thread is getting a little sad now..... I love her character but not like some on that thread........ if I see some kind of anime porn involving Tali on there I will leave these F***in forums forever. *throws up* Its getting creepy obsessive now.... 184 pages and counting...

Tali wins pretty much every poll as well. I think there's plenty of evidence that amongst the forum-going crowd, Tali is held in high regard by a majority.

Whether that's reflected in the player base as a whole is something only Bioware probably knows, from their feedback tools. And I doubt they'd officially come out and say which character is most popular.
