It matters because of what I said earlier. The hardcore fans are the ones willing to come online, go to their game's forums and participate, thus inflating actual popularity or whatever the issue is at hand. If you had EVERY single ME fan, I mean all 10 million or however much vote, I'm almost positive Tali would not be the most popular, because of the reason I said before, that's why it looks like they vote in droves.

The casual guys, sitting at home and never bothering to go to the forums or whatever, never have a voice. I didn't say it's 100% conclusive, but personally to me, an indicator. It's how forums works.

Casual gamers are probably also more disturbed by the romances and just play the game to shoot things.  Romances are directed at the fanboy/fangirl and roleplaying community.

It is apparent however you did not push things any furthur than that. If you talk to her correctly after that incident. She apoligizes. And says that she cares for your opinion more than anyone, including illusive mans and that everything she feels towards jack and her father, is going straight into the mission instead. Also, who is the one who constantly tries to keep shepard on task throughout the game. It would be miranda. Tali will obviously have a more devoted feeling towards shepard because she has a history with him, which miranda lacks. This is one of the reasons that it is very difficult to measure the two at all.

I can see that what im about to say is going to send some people through the roof. But honestly, Miranda is misconstrued to start. If you want to make it sound like real life, just for arguement sake. Shes got the ultimate **** front, that hot girls typically have. In game shes been made out to be a linear thinking objectionist. However, if you have gone through the romance subplot, she warms up to you, and even takes your side over Illusive Man's at one point. Miranda is not as cold hearted as you may think, and she definately changes to how you treat her, and whether or not you tell her to talk to her sister in her loyalty mission. However, i will say tali is a pretty streight forward honest pick if your looking for the easy miss goody goody i love you shepard two shoes.

I understand what you mean about Miranda, but Bioware has a habit of doing this.  An awesome looking babe that starts off as a total b***h, then somehow turns decent in the end.  For once I'd like them to make a woman like Kelly who is nice up front and stays that way until the end.  The reason I decided to go for Tali was because I didn't want to deal with Miranda's baggage in order to get to the good stuff.  At least with Tali she's nice from the beginning and doesn't get cold unless you do something bad to her (like tell the council about her father's experiments), or treat her like crap.  At the end of the day, I liked Miranda, but I didn't think she was worth trying to romance.

Yes but that is because people on forums care about detail. And change and challenge can throw off people with history on the first game. I appreciate the change. And i understand where people like the more unique tali. However the point is clear that Tali= easy. Miranda= =hard. Easy is mainstream, hard is typically not. There is soo many categories to judge that i honestly thing the entire subject is unjudgeable not only beacuse its entirely opinion, but becuase circumstances dictating each's existing membership in the game are so far apart.

I followed up with her after the mission using the "be the bigger woman" paragon option, which much to my dismay resulted in a "Jack's crazy, I'm just trying to keep her from freaking out" response and then she complimented me for staying focused on the mission. This does nothing to change how I view her character. She has no empathy or understanding for Jack nor any understanding for why I would stand up for her.

Exactly what im trying to convey. People dont like putting up with her baggage, hence why she takes a lot of critical reviews. However, Tali's history with Shepheard makes her love you all the way through. Though i will point out that she may not necessarily. She starts off pretty cold when you meet her on the first colony.

Get out more? really?  Forms are only a fraction of the people that play the game.  Of the 6 guys in my platoon that have this game, they all chose Miranda.  Why don't you try leaving your house and get away from the internet.

Playing through ME2 I really didn't feel that either character was given more attention.

It all depends on how much you talk with em. They both have their personal moments and time.

I'd say they're equal.

Really? I though Miranda was easy. I accidently made Miranda a LI on my first playthough. I had to actually put in a little work for Tali, but Jack was the one that I found truelly hard. I felt all I needed to do was complete Miranda's loyalty quest, in any way possible to start with her. Tali's loyalty is a little harder. jack's quest is easy, but you actually have to work dialog to make her a LI and not just a quick fling.

It was more Tali is drama free, Miranda and Jack pissed me off with the hole Cheerleader v. Emo chick **** fight...I was done with them after that.fight.  I did finish the Romance with Miranda for giggles but my import game  to ME 3 is going to tali all the way.  


That being Said I really played my Shepard   they I would think.... Watching the fight between Miranda and Jack I reaaly want to say.

"You know what Both of you SHUT UP  and get over your damn selves...arrghh."    

I would have to told them to both go to hell... 

but thats just me, i still Like Jack and Miranda but i could not see my Shepard with them at all

Either way, if they are doing it for kicks they wouldn't be upset if Shepard's girl wasn't in ME3 because they are doing it just for kicks.  Fanboys/fangirls are, as shown by the Liara threads.  Remember prior to ME2 launch there is a huge group of fans that would rather them trash romances all together in favor of more missions/guns/other content, this is probably a more accurate representation of how the casual gaming crowd sees things.

I prolly shouldn't use the tem "hard" as your right, none of them are really hard. More like, the amount of work needed to get to it.

Tali has been around for 2+ years. Miranda has been around for less than two weeks. There will be plenty of Miranda fan art and videos eventually.
