You must have been playing some other version of the game than I did.

Every line Tali gave radiated emotion and personality. Miranda you had to dig deep to find some redeeming qualities, and even then didn't come close to making the effort worth it. Otherwise she came off rather flat. (pardon the pun.)

Miranda is better IMO, but I like Tali as the very good friend that she is. It depends on in what way better. As a friend Tali, as a romance, Miranda hands down.

Well Tali's fans are certainly the most vocal. I don't know that she is more popular. I bet if the devs looked at the game data for the most common romances pusued in ME2, it wouldn't be Tali.

Keep telling yourself that.

Aaaand you can keep telling yourself otherwise...but the fact is that we really don't know since the boards themselves aren't a representative sample of the game's average player.

I wouldn't be surprised if Miranda was the most frequently romanced.

Quite true.

The majority here would definately romance Tali, but a large portion of the players never touch the forums. And given Miranda's... Overaccentuated assets, I think its given a lot of players would go for her.

Still, it could just as well be Tali, a lot people, even off these forums found her to be a fan favorite. As it stands, there's no numbers to back anything up.

Tali's more popular (at least in this community) but Miranda is hotter and more interesting.

Why does everyone have to start bashing each other in these threads? *sigh*

I like Tali well enough, but I like Miranda WAY more. She has a great story and if you take the time, you'll see she has a personality to match.

I just wish everyone would play through with her as an LI before making superficial judgements. (Not to say everyone will like her, but I think more than a few would be pleasantly surprised, as I was.)

That's what we call: "An Opinion"

I find miranda to be very boring, and I pretty much listened to all she had to say, and her overly-sexualized body pretty much acted as a turn off to me.

Again, its all subjective.

Tali just kept saying the same thing over, and over. She had no depth. Miranda has a personality and was the way she was for a reason. Tali was just annoying, and randomly just keep repeating the same thing over.

Just like you're doing?

Really, they only repeat the same thing if you exhaust all dialogue options, which doesn't take a lot for this game unfortunately.

I haven't read all the posts in this thread. With that said, I'm guessing Tali is running away with this thing. However she's not my favorite. I don't hate her, its just that she's too much like a little sister.

Miranda is awesome, not to mention incredibly useful. I plan on saving the galaxy from the Reapers by making an army of super babies with Miranda.

Touchy, eh?

She came in saying it like it was fact, I was simply reitterating what has been said before, that being that these things are subjective.

I don't think Tali was "annoying", but I do agree that she just kind of put everything out there. There was no effort to romance her. That was part of the appeal with Miranda. It felt more like a real-life, adult interaction whereas Tali's felt more like a "first love" type thing. (No offense, Tali lovers.)

I wouldn't even call her completely boring, she is just not romance material IMO. She is a good friend from ME1 though and for that she will always be cool in my book, but never a romance. If we're going by romance criteria Miranda wipes the floor with her.

She did not, she stated her opinion just like you. Also I'm not touchy at all, another of your assumptions fail, but it was funny how you assumed that she was stating fact and took immediate offense. Tali defense much???

Once agian opinion. I can't think of one cool thing Miranda says or does through the entire game. The girl was just boring. IMO she was the female version of Kaidan. Posted Image

Tali never felt complete. It was just talk and ok,so..she never said or did anything of note..With Miranda, at least you felt you actually got to know, her, and understand her. You had to figure her out. With Tali it was just the same ol **** all over again. There was nothing to her. It was a waste of a LI, to satisfy the questionable Tali lovers.

People who like Tali must be geeky IT professionals who think a techy girl with that kind of hip-waist ratio is their ideal woman, even if you can't see her face. And those are exactly the types who would dedicate appreciation threads to fictional characters, and petition for their masturbatory fantasy to not be killed off in an upcoming story.

So Tali's quest didn't show more about her than Miranda's did?

I disagree. What about the banter between her and Shepard in her quarters after her loyalty mission? Or how she resigns from Cerberus, cuts off TIMs transmission and defends Shepard's actions if you bring her to the Collector base? I could go on. Obviously its a matter of opinion, but comparing her to Kaiden is pretty harsh. And I'm sure the people who found Kaiden interesting would be offended as well.

I loved Tali in the sequel, and I was really bleh about her the first time around in ME1, but in this one she was just.. Like her loyalty mission was my favorite of the loyalty assignments, and that part where you pull her in for a hug was just.. D'awww!!

That said, I liked Miranda surprisingly more than I thought I would. If I had to guess, I'd say that more people who just picked up the game and started playing that were males, more of them would be into Miranda than Tali.

Tali fans are definitely more vocal on the net though. I like them both though, like sisters to me.

Without starting a flame war, the Tali romance did seem a little "shoehorned" in. It was clearly fan service. I'd bet it wasnt in the writers initial plans to make her romanceable. Can't say the same for the other LIs, they were clearly planned. But I digress and move dangerously close to a flame war. This might be my last post in this thread.
