Do we hear of the Salarian guy from Virmire's facility in ME2?

Last week I played ME1 again to get a new character to import in ME2, I played all side quests and main missions and missed almost nothing... almost. It just struck me a few moments ago that I completely forgot to save that one Salarian guy in the Saren's research facility on Virmire who still had his own mind, you know, the guy who says from his captive cell something like: «Hello? Is anyone there?» as you walk on the platform above... I can't remember where to go from there to reach the cell he is in, and I don't clearly remember if we give him the option to save him or not... I think we do... I do remember saving him in one of my first ME1 play-throught but that was literally three years ago or so.
So anyway, I was wondering if that one Salarian sends you any personal messages in ME2 thanking you for saving him on Virmire? Just curious, I missed that part.

Yeah that Asari scientist, I let her go in ME1 indeed, but my current ME2 game is the import of the ME1 game that I am referring to above, in which I forgot to save that Salarian guy, so yeah... well, if we do save him but doesn't show up via personal messages in ME2 then it answers my question, I was just curious if BioWare thought about him or not.

You don't see him, But Mordin makes a number of references to Cpt Kirrahe.

I'm not talking about Cpt Kirrahe guys, I'm talking about some Salarian guy imprisoned in Saren's facility for research puporses on indoctrination. Some Salarians in there have lost their minds and are hostile to Shepard if you free them from their cell, but there's ONE of them who actually retained his mind and Shepard can chose to let him rot in the cell or free him. That's the one guy I'm talking about.

That's the second one you can release, not the first.

I see, I saved him on my run too, but I have not seen him at all in ME2.

That's a different one.

No, it's not that one. There's two Salarians you can free, one who DOES attack you, and another who legitimately isn't indoctrinated and does not attack you. I could swear I saved that guy in one of my very first ME1 play-throughs about three years ago but my memories are vague about him. I think I have to play through ME1 again just to get to that part...

There's a second one? Huh. Never noticed him.

Yeah, you have to circle back before the elevator to the floor below.

He's very tough to notice, you can only hear him once, it's only a whisper coming from the cells level below you as you walk above that section of the map, you can hear: «Hello? Is anyone there?» ... then nothing. But you CAN go there and free the guy in question.

YES! You do hear about him and what you did in ME1 with him when you talk to Mordin a lot. Like the previous poster said he repeats his speech "HOLD THE LINE!"
No, lol, you guys... seriously, the "Hold the line" speech comes from the Salarian captain in front of his troops on the beach, I know, it's fine, but I am not talking about that one. I'm talking about a Salarian "test subject" imprisoned in a cell who really doesn't feel like telling you that you need to "hold the line", believe me.
