you can't tatoo yourself properly except in a few places, as you need both your hands. Someone else did the tatoos and had colored ink, not just some bozo criminal. prison tatoos are often the same color and something simple

I wish she seemed like a psychopath. She acts more like one of the rebellious talk show teenagers that's trying to get pregnant because her parents don't let her stay out past 10.

Probably, but they had to put a stupid belt on her so that the game wouldn't be banned in Australia and Germany, and to avoid giving BioWare the image of a development team without real girlfriends who love to create nude female models in their games.

While Australia and Germany are known for banning games, I don't think this would go over well in America either. I remember when anatomically correct nude models were found in the Oblivion installation, Bethesda either had to remove them from further copies or face some sort of punishment from the ESRB, not sure if it was in danger of getting an AO, but when you have ME1 and its sideboob getting Fox News going mad, I can only imagine the response to a topless party member.

Oblivion was rated Teen, which is why there was an issue with nudity.  ME2 being Mature rated, there wouldn't be an issue, since the game already contains the Partial Nudity tag.

Ah, that was the issue then. I suppose it might not have been as big of a problem then, but it would have still generated a lot of controversy and lost a lot of sales from parents that weren't okay with that content. Would it have made back more sales than it lost because of the controversy? Maybe, maybe not.

Seriously... I had to talk her into blowing the guy away at the end of her loyalty quest.  Psychopath FAIL.

Possibly. They probably could have gotten away with it, though, with all of her tattoos.

Gotten away with it?  This game is rated "M" its not a matter of “getting away” with anything, it should be perfectly acceptable. It’s going on 2am I have no desire to go to the national ratings webpage and copy and paste what each rating encompasses but there are no issues with nudity in a game rated mature at all.  The "Natural Bodies" mod for DAO is one of the best.

You know what the problem is? Game retailers that do not card people buying a mature game and parents not being parents to their kids. I am sick and tired of mature games having to defend mature content. If this was an “R” rated film there would be no issues with full frontal nudity and soft core porn sex scenes. It’s 2010; time for the world to realize adults play video games. If Hollywood took the same approach to movies as game developers took with mature games, we would have nothing but PG-13 or G rated movies. To be honest, I wish Bioware carded everyone on these forums too; it’s a mature game after all.

With all of that said, I had no problems with jack’s attire whether it have been nude or clothed. I also had no problems with Jacks character. Jacks characters personality however drove me crazy and left me no option but to get her killed the moment I had a chance. I am glad she is dead and no longer a member of my crew.  In play through 2 when I get to the end she is going to die again.

Nuke Jack from orbit, it’s the only way to be sure...

I covered her up because I liked almost everyone else's 2nd option for the darker outfits.  Even had my Shep wearing some Black and Gold by the end.

Haha, have to admit, it's true for me too.
I like the character regardless but I like her better when she's wearing something.

The way GTA4 handled peen was pretty good. Just as long as it was used in context and not wagged everywhere, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

If Faux News has nothing better to do than rip on video games, then it simply verifies that their agenda is fashioned to tell others how to think. Y'know... propaganda.

BTW - I agree with BamBam38. Not enough romance in this second installment for my tastes, never mind T&A. The Asari dancers that are dancing up high out of the reach of drunks would be nude in the clubs if I were running them.

This is a rare instance in which I disagree with Faux news. And if we're talking about propaganda, the other major news station (not to mention names) supports communism with a passion, which is all about controlling everything about a country. Disgusting.

Judging from the artbook, it looks like it - but I guess they had to cover up at least her nipples...with a belt.

Games like Dante's Inferno don't seem to be getting any bad press for all it's nudity not in a sexual manner, so I don't see why BioWare doesn't do the same.

Bioware has become such cowards on the topic of nudity its actually embarressing.

Im a self proclaimed Bioware fanboi but their handleing of female breasts in DA:O and ME2 is just sad.

Its a mature game, if nudity fits the character/situation then show nudity (by nudity I mean topless only, any more and your getting to close to porn).

Its my one standing complaint with Bioware in all their ADULT games.

Im 44 and let me say, Id much rather see breasts then hear some skinhead talk like a trucker when unneeded and alot of Jacks swearing was overboard and not character building in reference.

Come on, use common sense.

They won't make anyone topless, as long as they actually wanna sell the game

Thalinor00 hit the nail right on the head with his comment. You guys can mock Fox News all you want, but what their opinion segments are trying to do by pointing out sex scenes, like the one in the original Mass Effect game, is to keep ignorant and foolish parents from buying it for their under-age children. If parents would take the time and responsibility to read and actually listen to what the game store clerk is trying to tell them, we wouldn't have to worry about news organizations spending time to actually point it out.

Like others have said, this game is rated "M" for mature. It is meant to be purchased by consenting adults and is not meant for a child's eyes. The same reason the theater clerk requires an ID to sell a ticket for a rated "R" movie to someone who looks under-age is the same reason a game store clerk has to ID a teen that looks like they may be too young. These games are not meant for children. People need to get it through their heads that the average gamer these days is not 12 or 13. The average age of gamer's today is between 22 and 36. If Bioware really wanted to make Jack's torso completely covered in tatoos with no covering, there should be no reason why they could not do so. If the "M" games of today are for a mature audience much like the rated "R" movies are, then the same standards should apply. Like someone else has already mentioned, if a movie can have full frontal nudity and sex scenes close enough to be softcore *orn then why can't an "M" rated game have the same content without people pointing fingers and pitching a fit.

yes i agree. you can slaughter all the living things you want, punch as many reporters in the face as you feel, execute people, but show a nipple? That's just disgusting!!! think of how much seeing a nipple could warp a child's mind! they would be scarred for life.

in all seriousness though i don't know why americans find nudity so offensive (i am american before you get mad). it's literally the most natural thing a human can be. why is it that a movie can have people decapitated and it's still pg 13 yet one half a second long shot of frontal nudity and it's R ? doesn't make any f****** sense.

You nailed it right in the bat without even realizing it.
Because sexuality/nipples/relationship it's something we will have or we have and we're doing through our lifespan and school/parents and whatnot try to educate children/teenager about sexuality.

They will teach aspect of relationship, using condom/aids and how the human anatomy work. They won't teach you how to not use a sub machine gun .Because that something you will never do(i hope so) and that they should never have to teach or unteach that .Because it's has no meaning and should never have  any meaning in your life , unlike sexuality.

Sex in video game it's not a true relationship . Just like how pornography it's not how you should view sex between 2 consent adult in a relationship.Your relation it's your relation and it's not the other one relationship.

Human being can relate themself easier to love or nudity in a video game than shooting people .Because it's something they will have to go through in their life.Something that's a part of an individual education.

Some people might think it's how it's goes and use it for reference.

Anyway i'm done.

So since a penis It's just a penis..Why don't tell your children later to show their penise to everyone in school?
You're an idiot.

The only people that bug me more than those who are offended by nudity are the people that justify adding it in because "hey, it's rated M, why the F not?"

Stuff like Jack's cursing fit within the context of the character. However, I don't need to see nipples or ass cheeks to feel statisifed with the culmination of a romantic encounter.

You do realize that it is a video game, right? Some tasteful nudity, like in ME1, is okay. In DA:O the clothed sex scene was a joke. In ME2 we don't have an actual sex scene, instead we have tasteful hints, and the screen is fading out. Which is well done, I think.
Why would you need nipples for a romantic scene in a mature game? Nudity, nipples aren't a neccesity for a video game. If it's presented with bras or shades, it's fine. If you want real nudity, go, grab a women!
It has nothing to do with cowardice. Instead, it's actually the line between adult and mature games.

Jack has some pretty poorly done tatoos actually, any tatoo artist in almost any shop you go to has much better looking work and it looks like somone scribbled crayon all over her. I love that she has all those tatoos, and I wouldn't mind her topless but she needs to seriously get some of that cleaned up.

shes a freaking psychopath i dont think much thought was put in to the tattoos because of that fact o.o

Actually i thought that to be very fitting. She's a very unstable personality and had the worst you can get from life. It's likely that she received her tattoos from some backalley guy.
Having them all be highly artistical would seem odd. Ever actually considered getting one yourself and checked the prices?

As for the reason why there's a belt, it's not because of Germany or Australia. They are known to ban violence, but T&A are fine (at least in GER, dont know about the Aussies). It was likely done because of the US, namely FoxNews and the like.
And tbh, i couldn't care less about her nipples, if the belt means that we got spared the public outcry
