I think as soon as they put a known actress physically into the game, the chances of nudity in Mass Effect 2 and 3 was wiped out.

I thought that as well... but I recall seeing an interview with Yvonne where she said she didn't care about that since it was a video game and not real.

in all seriousness though i don't know why americans find nudity so offensive (i am american before you get mad). it's literally the most natural thing a human can be.

As a genuine old fart, let me answer that question:

It's an old social "norm" designed to protect all of us.
I'd wager that most of you wouldn't want to see 75%+ of the rest of people nude. Open up that door too wide, and you'll likely end up blind (however "natural" what's behind it might be). 

Secondly, not knowing what's inside a wrapped gift is fun, and unwrapping the gift is exciting. If everyone just hands you your present, eventually you'll be less excited about the next one.

That answers the above question, but doesn't really explain why we can't have a bit a titillation in a game designated "M".

i don't see what difference it would have made. her skin really resembles tanned leather more than it does skin. not sure anyone would have notice the nipples too much.

Me too, I hated the pasty-strap/nipple-belt thing she had on.  I never let her go out on any missions untill I got acess to her personal side-quest and got her to put on a damn shirt!  And I changed my armour to orange with green stripes so we could both be embarrased by what the other was wearing for that quest.

You would cover up the work the character artist put into those tatoos? rude. I understand that a character artist also did the alternate but it obviously has less work/thought put into it.

I doubt it. There's plenty of pressure to keep in shape right now.  For example, people know that being obese is likely going to kill them, and that doesn't seem to be enough to motivate. Besides...how much someone weighs isn't the only reason you might not want to see someone nude. I don't want to see your great-uncle nude and bending over to put air in his tires no matter how "buff" he is. Also, if no one wore clothes, I sure wouldn't want to sit in a chair which a nude person had just sat in, even if they were ok to look at!

Being a gynocologist seemed like a great idea to me once too....
