When I look at the ME2 config files they seem to be very different from the ME1 ones. What I like to do is to increase the number of saved games. Any ideas how to do that?
Increasing number of saved games?

No idea, but I found that moving a few of them out of the directory seems to work. The game even keeps numbering up.

Is there a limit to the number of save files? I'm sure i have close to a 100 for one of my careers.
What I would love to be included in ME3 or a future patch, is the ability to restart any mission associated with that save file. What I am currently doing is save at the start of each mission so I can replay them at a higher difficulty in future. What i would really love is to be able to restart the mission and thus reselect my crew/weapon load-out for any one of those save files.

In ME1 I've set the limit to 999. In ME2 the limit is about 200 or so. I like to keep saves of anything I've visited. It allows me to investigate something I've missed or branch the story without starting over again. It's just how I play.

you mean 200 individual file? or the incremental number as you overwrite?
I haven't seen anything in the ini that governs it but there are 7000 lines in that thing

Ah. Thanks for at least looking into it.Unato wrote...

After 200 saved files you cannot add a new save anymore. It has nothing to do with the numbering of the saved files. That can be higher than 200.

as Empiro said then, you can just move files out of the current directory, place it in another and keep going
I haven't verified that the game does keep counting but I see no reason not to trust Empiro =p

Yes. I know that trick. I used it in ME1 too, to speed up the listing of saved games. However, the less I have to do that, the more time it saves me.Unato wrote...
