something i discovered. ME1 does not save that choice.

when Miranda asks you in the shuttle who you put in power, your answer determines who is in power during that playthough.

ive tried both. not much difference, cept Udina is an *** regardless

I wish we could intimidate Udina into killing himself just like Saren! Or just the option to break his legs and then strangle him with them.

I was disappointed with the Council and Udina. I was expecting more.

Udina, while often wrong, knows how to get things done as a politician, and tries to increase the power of humanity, if only because he represents them. Anderson on the other hand is completely incompetent when it comes to politics, and not capable of doing any good for anyone as a council member. Being right is irrelevant if you aren't able to be effective.

Being effective at doing the wrong thing is WAY WORSE than being ineffective at doing the right thing.

I second this sentiment.

Councilor Anderson came across as kind of a jackass during ME2. Will screw over and help Udina if given the option.*

*well, not really, but I do think Udina's objections to Anderson's actions were reasonable

Put him on the council as in after you saved the council? I doubt many people did that.

I put him on the council after I let them die once, he gave an awesome "bad guy" speech, it might be my favorite ending for ME1.

Funny thing is, Udina and Anderson give the exact same speeches in the different endings.  Udina just delivers the full renegade speech a lot better than Anderson does.

You know...im thinking i might Udina in for my canon playthrough...and here is why

Anderson seemed so...not himself after joining the council, like he was deflated, out of his element and unable to do anything at all. Udina on the other hand just loves it, bathes in the attention and power of it...but no matter the choice, the council is a bunch of ***** who willingly pretend their is no reaper threat, even after they had one on the citadel.

So...what if it comes down to having to end them in me3? Anderson tries his best, its just a no win situation for him, at least with the Alliance he is closer to home and closer to what he has always been. So what happens if the council plays a larger role, and we eventually have to decide to maybe even kill them....again lol. I sure wouldn't want Anderson there just because i nominated him for a position he cant win in.

But Udina...id love roasting him in an incineration blast, that goes for the other members as well.

I did. On two out of six characters.

Explanation is simple: Anderson is straight man, but he doesn't know how politics work (that would be the point :) ), so he won't be able to pull his word through. Udina is not unreasonable. If he sees the real threat, he can be of assistance.

And I'd rather see Anderson in the fleet, he can help more on board of a battlecruiser than in an office banging his head against the burocratic stonewall.

In my renegae playthrough I did, b/ my Shep knew Anderson would end up hating politics . . . too bad he'd be better off as Councilman than lackey . . I'll end up rectifying that decision in NG +

i consider it to be like harromont vs bhelen in DA:O. sure udina pisses you off but the fact of the matter is he'll be a better councilor than anderson.

I vote for a Sith Lightning Renegade interrupt just when Udina's spouting off some of his political bull****!

Udina: "Clearly the Reapers are a hoax, never mind their attack on this citadel..."

Shepard: "I'm going to start electrocuting you now. I'm not sure when I'll stop."

Udina: "Well, I do hope you stop before my next commitee meeting, I've got reaper hoaxes to discredit..."

Shepard: *lightning shoots from hands* "I'm going to enjoy this far more than I should."

Given that Udina won't restore your Spectre status, regardless of the rest of the Council's composition, I see him as a detriment Whether or not you want to be a Spectre post-death is moot if you don't even have that option. Never mind the fact I respect Anderson - neither choice allows him free reign to return to military service.
