Revenant + Widow.

Widow might have a 1-shot reload but it's a powerhouse. Can one-shot kill fully armored soldiers on insanity if you hit the right spot with the right ammo + upgrades.

Never caught on to the LMG. Just too much spread for accurate shooting, even though it's very powerful. Targeting things like the Vorcha Pyro's explodey canisters was just too impossible.

EDIT: My bad - meant Vindicator + Widow. The Revenant is the LMG. derpy derp

EDIT EDIT: After reading through this more thoroughly I think I'll give the Revenant another chance. If a characters NG+ing can he opt to switch his specialty weapon at the Collector base, or is he stuck with the one he chose in his previous playthrough?

I loved my Revenant. It sucked at first before I bought the rifle accuracy upgrade, but after that? <3

if you play insane the sniper upgrade because some mission have infinite spawning you need to move forward so you need instant kill especially with harbringer that spam power again and gain and again ..... and anyway vindicator assault riffle is better than any other weapon with fire ammo if you know how target head .

adrenaline rush (which is nowhere near as good as the infiltrator's sniper ability, putting that one to rest as well.

Ok, I'm curious.  I've not played an infiltrator in ME2 (yet).

For a Soldier, Hardened Rush gives you a +100% damage bonus, 50% slow-down and 5 secs to line up a shot, with a 3 second recharge time.  With Commando, you also get +15% weapon damage.  Heightened Rush gives you a +140% damage bonus, a 70% slowdown, and 5 secs.

I just checked the ME2 Infiltrator Operative powers, and Assassin seems to be the best evolution, with +15% weapon damage, a 60% slow-down, and 2.25secs to line up a shot.

Is there something that's not documented to make me believe that a further +140% damage bonus, 5 secs of slowdown at 70%, is not better than 0% damage bonus, and 2.25 secs of slowdown at 60%?

Not criticising.  Am honestly curious if the Infiltrator's aren't documented fully.

well i don't know about the math, i am going by how it felt when i played. i would point out i tend to use AP/warp ammo on everything, too BUT the infiltrator "slow time" seemed to be better and made sniping a lot easier than Adrenaline Rush, and did just as much damage (nearly one-shotting all enemies, any difficulty). however it is definitely the feel that makes it for me. still soldier has a lot more combat flexibility regarding weapons: ARs and Shotguns, i hated being so reliant on the back-up guns as an infiltrator. adrenaline rush makes more of a difference with more bullets - so an AR is a lot more powerful than the widow as long as you hit the target with it, imo. the semi-auto sniper you get on thane's mission, i didn't think was as good with adrenaline rush as the dlc one - the fire-rate is just not high enough for the duration of the adrenaline rush.

edit: i would say i didn't go heightened rush, but the one that minimises damage instead (on insanity that's a better option as you get spammed as soon as you stand up in some fights), so the slow-time thing isn't as great. i might play about with it some more and experiment whether heightened rush is better.

Go with the revenant. Huge ammo capacity and power, great for all types of enemies where as the others have to be used tactically.
