How lovely - I can no longer play Mass Effect 2.  While doing the Samara quest on Illium (Commercial Spaceport) I get a Disc Read error (disc2) every damn time.  I take the elevator up to deal with eclipse folks, get the disc read error and am kicked back to the 360 dashboard.  sigh.

I inspected the disc, not a scratch or smudge, I had even installed the disc to the hard drive, for what good that did.

help!?!

Didn't get this issue, just a stupid guess: try changing the cd at a store you bought. maybe there was an error in the manufacturing.

I have the exact same issue, in the same spot. Completely ridiculous, same garbage happened on Mass Effect 1.

I reset my cache, I called both EA, and Xbox Tech support both were no help to my question at all gave me generic responses such as 'Unplug Xbox.' So I've bought 3 BioWare games, 2/3 don't work.

Just install the game to your hard drive. It gets rid of disc read errors. If you don't have room on your hard drive, I guess I'd do what Klimy suggested and see if you can trade that disc in for another one.

Tried installing to harddrive, resulted in 'Disc Unreadable.' when I got to around 35%

Ah, you really do need to trade it in, then.  Whenever I've had that error, installing it to the hard drive has worked for me.

I was able to resolve this by deleting the hard drive installs and re-installing. It was saying the disc was unreadable, but since it was installed the hard drive it must have been corrupted on the initial install.

i got the disk unreadable error on the help zaeed mission roughly ten mins in to the gamplay.
