Probably synthetical.
While i doubt that she smells like roses, i also doubt that Quarians stink. Not because it wouldn't be sexy, just because they can't afford to stink. Having body odor implies biochemical reactions of bacteria on the skin and an overal lack of hygiene. A stinking Quarian would probably be dead

so long as it's a emotionally powerful moment yeah i'd be for it.

my Shepherd would totally go nuts on the enemy at that point.

Hmm... Good point. Didn't think of it like that yet. 
You are right though, they would probably have no obvious smell.

What the hell are you talking about?  I love Tali.  I just think it would be a very meaningful, powerful, and logical reveal for her face.  I think you're misreading what I'm saying.  What's more dramatic and worthy of Tali's character if she gets shot while defending Shepard and as she lies on the floor, tells Shepard to remove her helmet so that she can get one last look (or kiss, if you romance her) at his face without the visor on.

Stop being a defensive Tali fan.  I know there's a lot of hate for her running about because of all the love she's getting, but it isn't coming from me.

Sadly, too true - minority fans (although in reality minority fans tend to be fanboys instead) are bloody loud. Though...technically, we are in a minority - everyone on the forum, that is; we're only a handful compared to the millions who bought the game.

BioWare has a habit of making even the ugliest things look somewhat good. Well not always (*cough* Broodmother *cough*) but at least most of the things that are one way or another linked to romance or attractiveness. Which Tali now officially is...

That... or they could be incredibly ugly after all. I can easily imagine they don't know much of hygiene at least... being stuck in that suit for... forever.

Quarians breathe the same atmosphere as humans do. You have mistaken them to the Volus, who, indeed, breathe an ammonia-like 'coctail', hence the full suit they use.

Where the hell did you get THAT idea?  Because it is completely false.

Indeedie; it would be very surprising, and would baffle me as to how Tali managed to breathe oxygen in Shepards cabin.

Hm, nay. From what the wiki tells us, Quarians are much like Turians, they have a different genetic structure.  But they breath oxygen, just like us. Volus were the ammonia guys.

whats the point in hiding it if you never show it? its a real FU at this point since shepard has seen her but we the player have not if they never show us her face (yes, tali's, not just some quarian.) its like showing us a wrapped gift and never giving it to us.

Id have to disagree with the like Turians assessment, basing it on DNA wont help us because its a game and the devs go with what looks good rather than what makes sence.

Why not make it an option? Tali is by far my favorite party member and me personaly would be realy disappointed if I didn't see her face before the trilogy ends. Would be nice If you had an option to see her face or not if you romanced her in ME2. Maybe in the third one we had a mission with who ever each of us romanced and at the end you had the option for tali to show her face that way people who want to see her can and the people who don't say no. Hopefully she's not awful looking.

As for Conceal or not theyve painted themselves into a corner on this one lol maybe theyll do what Bungie did with Master Cheif and never show.
