I still can't play dragon age origins after the most recent patch(es). I could play dragon age fine I'm at the ending just short of going up against the archdemon. But since the patch 1.0x something I haven't been able to play. I tried to be patient to hope for fixes to the game. But now awakening is coming soon and we STILL have no fixes on some of these freeze problems. To does who have not seen my original post let me explain the issue.

Basicly since updating my game will freeze when on the character screen. That is teh screens when you create a new character ingame. The animations stop and and the game becomes unresponsive. All you can move is the mouse. You can't even alt tab or use control alt delete. This makes it very hard and annoying to trouble shoot.

 my computer spec is:

AMD dual core 4600+
4gb ram
directX 9.0c
ATI radeon x1800xt
sound is x-fi fatal1ty

LIke I said I posted before and I have gotten ZERO feedback from EA/bioware on how to solve the issue not even any recognition that they INTRODUCED the issue in patches. I played to archdemon without insident and then considrerd to update to start a new character to tryout the other origins. Since then I have been unable to play...

And now im seriously pissed off, I can only wait so long. And I never been so frustrated on a gamecompany since relic dropped the ball on soul storm expansion...

ANY HELP to get my game started would be appreciated, even how to revert the game back to before the patch cycle. Steam auto updates the game everytime... it's seriously annoying.

What I tried:

Reinstalling game + patches
updated sound drives + video/grahic drives
updated directX
etc.

NOTHING has helped the game still freeze on creating new character or even loading my earlier character Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Have you tried uninstalling the game and then reinstalling it without the problematic patch? Wasn't clear in the list of things you've tried. Also make sure that the uninstall is complete (no files&registry entries left), while keeping your old Documents/BioWare/Dragon Age/ away until you've checked if the new install works.
