The feel is not there, it is just a choice of good, better , best for the weapons in ME2.

I have not used the shotguns. But for comparisons sake, snipers. I like base one it has 1 round and low ammo but powerful, the second one doesn't do much damage but has more ammo and multiple rounds, while the third one has one round and does the most damage.

So for my character I only ended up using the base sniper and the final one.
Heavy weapons aren't in ME1 and are a clear improvement in selection.

Well, I consider rate of fire and the kick, etc. to be part of the feel as far as my shotguns go, but I guess that can be subjective. However, I think we have at least debated civilly for the most part, so: *bow*

after playin through the game once already i actually dont mind the changes as much as i did at first.

if bioware wants to replace some of the more technical aspects of the rpg elements in favor of a more streamlined story/action driven cinimatic expeireince thats fine . as long as it makes sense  within the story line they have established.

i would have liked a little customization in the squad mates armour not so much buying multiple sets but even a few individual stat upgrades to make them feel a little more fleshed out. and i like that they wanted to make each character have a unique look to them. wearing cool looking costumes is fine on the normandy but i would have liked to see all my squaddys at least wearing actual armor on the battle field. i mean most already have some form of armor

i just find that having a topless girl or another in a catsuit getting laced up with projectiles from  mass effect weapons or operating on a planet with lethal uv radiation etc etc..doesn't seem to fit well with the established lore. bioware has done a great job in creating a very rich and detailed hard sci-fi universe and they seemed to toss it away (in this regard) in favor of some stylish looking costumes. i had my shep kit'd out in black armor with blood red trim and even the reduced stats he had still gave him a more solid feel wich left my squad mates feeling hallow by comparison.

if there going for a more cinematic feel at least let it feel more cinematically plausible.
still a great game
just my opinion

I love The variety of armors from the 1st game ,and it was awsome chasing the Colosus armor, but giving the choice I would pick custmozation. I think we are all in agreemnet, there needs to be more armors made availble. I also am having fun with the upgrades but giving the choice in that matter I would want the old inventory system back. I just hope for that for ME3 they can fund a happy midium between ME1 and ME2. Also DarthCaine is rite about the armor, there was heavy, mediaum, adn light. All in difrent colors and patterns. With the exception of 1 or two.

I agree Miranda is hot, but how dose she survive an all out fire fight in a catsiut. But I also liked all the micro managment of issue your squad mates theer individual armor and weapons.

After reading through all the replies IMO it all comes down to "people who likes to do a lot of inventory" vs. "people who likes simplified inventory."

So in the end it comes down to preference.
