I really really dislike that screen.
It removes you from the game and story and gives you a generic end of level feel that doesnt fit this game. Its too abrupt and distrupts the story flow imo.
I'd rather be allowed to walk back to the Normandy and pick up any spare ammo or loot/medi-packs etc ive missed that being sent straight back to my ship.
I really dont understand why it was added.

It's a shooter staple. We'll have to live with it for the foreseeable future.

They need to add a return to Normandy option instead of it. I won't miss having to run back to it all the time in cities.

I hate it with a passion.

Breaks immersion like being smacked in the face with a wet fish would.

I wish they'd give us a toggle in the main menu to turn the horrendous thing off.

Ya i hate it.

It demonstrates that Bioware really did put in shooter features on purpose and i find that depressing as a Bioware RPG fan.

I don't have a problem with it. Doesn't break immersion for me, just go talk to your crew after a mission and its back!

I've got nothing against the mission complete screen, the only thing I don't like is when it throws you back on the Normandy when there are still locations and things of interest around. Having to dock/land again can be a bit frustrating.

I always skip it instantly. Yes, it's annoying and immersion-breaking to read what The Illusive Man thinks about every damn mission.

I don't hate it as much as I hate the end mission thing on xbox 360 where it says press B to end mission. Imo I find that more annoying then the mission complete screen which I thought of as a report sheet of the mission's overall progress being viewed by the player as if they themselves were in some way Tim. However, I agree that in some circumstances that immersion in the game is lost as a result of the completion screen. I mean it would be nice if I can continue to explore an area after completing a mission, talk to the locals, etc, instead of being forced into the mission complete screen. I think it takes away from the sense of impact I feel when completing a mission imo, but that press B to end mission pop up to me is far worse.

It doesn't bother me. I do agree with TheLastAwakening about the end mission button though. Perhaps it's just me but i'd prefer battling my way back to the Normandy - or at least having the option.  That perhaps more than anything else breaks the immersion for me.  That's it though!!  :P

I hate it, but I can live with it since I love (read: ADORE <3<3<3) the rest of Mass Effect 2.

I actually like it. I feel rather than break immersion its interesting to read the cerebus summary of the mission.

I hate it. Also, now that the elevators have been replaced with loading screens, I actually miss them! It was more immersive, you were never taken out of the world in the middle of a mission. The mission complete screen is just dumb and useless.

I'm cool with it. I can see how it might kick people out of the experience but like r19ecua said, just interact with the crew and you're fine. Might have been nice to have the breakdown taken care of in-game through dialogue and then be able to access and reference each mission report through your terminal whenever you wanted.

Also, agreed on the "end mission" button prompt -- annoying. I understand where they were going with it (speedy ending option if you want it) but there has to be a better way.

I HATE it with big letters. It completely breaks down the feeling of "being within the story" and makes ME feel like just some average game.. Same with the loading screens..

I mean it's good that they got rid of the "elevators" but now that I look how it was in ME2.. I really want my elevators back, perhaps with bit more happening in there than 15 seconds of silence.

The elevators were nice touch in ME1, but they were just too long.. :P

Agree, its not a good thing.

Also, the background image looks low rez and cheap.

Major immersion breaker.

I liked the elevators too, they felt real and I liked the tidbits of conversation you would pick up.

I played ME1 on PC in 2009, maybe they were faster for me (though I heard they were a set amount of time, so maybe not)  but they didn't bother me at all.  The loading screens on the other hand suck.  It makes ME2 feel cheap and more like a run-of-the-mill shooter.

It kind of disjoints the story for me, since I play an "enemy mine" situation with Cerberus, and having "mission complete" after each operation makes it look like I'm one of them.
And it's from TIM POV. If mission reports were this necessary, Miranda or TIM could use private terminal for them, so player could review it when s/he wants.

One of the things I hated about ME1 is I never knew when a mission was finished. Some felt like they were done but then you had to run back to the Citadel and talk to X person to finish. Others just ended and I didn't know they were over until I found them grayed out in the missions list. So I guess I'm in the minority saying that I LOVE the mission complete screen. It does no more to break the immersion of the game than my 1 year old tackling me because she knows Spongebob is on and she wants me to stop playing...

ME1 had lot of flaws sure.. Especially when it came to gearing and doing missions.. BUT..

The world was more alive. In ME2 the world gets too tight, and you don't feel as free as you did in ME1.. I really don't think that's a good direction to go..

Even if it's more like a cinematic story, than a game.. I still wish the world would feel more open and free.

When you complete some work in real life, does your life pause for a moment to show how much materials you gained and show some random guy sitting on chair, perhaps your boss smoking a cigarette?

No. It breaks the gameplay, and makes the game feel too much likes some "arcade" game. Which is not a good thing for a game where the story plays the main role.

If something, they should just adapt the mission completition in the user interface.. Instead of making a separate screen for it..
