I finished ME2 recently, and since Awakenings was coming soon, I figured I'd do another Dragon Age origins playthrough to get ready for it, try and make a better all around character and storyline. However, I realized that I'm actually dreading a good amount of the game.....some quests are just very un-fun: The Fade, The Sacred Ashes, and a few others are extremely un-fun. I didn't really think that for any part of ME2.

Anyway, Is it neccessary to replay Origins? Are choices going to carry over like they did from ME1 to ME2? Will it make any impact on the expansion? Thanks.

From what we've heard, yes - decisions you made in Origins do carry over in Awakening. However, they have less of an impact (for the most part) on the story than ME1 decisions had in ME2. So it's perfectly all right to just import what you have, or not import at all and just play as an Orlesian Warden.

Supposedly most of the big decisions you made will show up in Awakenings, and you can import your character from Origins as well, assuming that you chose to do Morrigan's ritual at the end of the game. Even if you died, though, your decisions can still carry over. However, they have yet to confirm exactly which decisions (presumably whoever you made monarch is a big one, as it seems that the previews are mostly showing Alistair as king, but obviously that's not the only option) are going to play into it, and exactly what will happen regarding romance (like, if you're queen and Alistair is king, or you are king and Anora is queen, how will that play out?) and other things like that.

I think some items carry over too, although I'm not clear on the parameters for exactly how that works.
