I hope she makes a come back. I feel that her reaction to seeing you again was understandable. After all you were dead for two years and having to let go of you then seeing you again. That would bring up a whole range of feelings. Plus shes a ":tough" girl and it was probably either be angery or cry. I stayed loyal.

I think this would have mixed effects on people. I would have liked it, but some would have probably hated it for her turning her back on him. Of course those same people already were mad at her for the horizon conversation.

I think it would have been fine, but Ashley needs to say something there. Having her just walk away would feel wrong.  Maybe something like this...

(Ash turns to leave after chewing Shepard out, but Shepard grabs her hand and spinns her back around)
Shepard: Everyone else has turned their backs on me--Udina, Anderson, the Council, the Alliance... Please, Ash, stay with me. I can't lose you, too.
(Ash looks at Shepard for a moment before gently pulling free of his grip, shaking her head)
Ashley: I can't. I just don't know if I can trust you anymore, Shepard. (she starts to turn, but stops briefly) I'm sorry...
(Ash turns and walks off, leaving Shepard behind)
Shepard: Joker, send the shuttle. I've had enough of this colony.

Of course, there should probably be a Renegade option, too, but that wouldn't fit our Ashley-loving theme here.

Ah what the hell I will throw one in:

Ash: You betrayed the alliance....anderson. You betrayed me.
(renegade action symbol)
Shepard (interupts her mid sentence): Don't you ever call me a traitor! I fought, bled, and died for all of you. Now your turning your back on me? I thought if i could trust anyone it would be you.(shepard turns to leave).....I guess what we had died 2 years ago on the normandy.
Ash: shepard-
Shepard (cuts her off while walking away): Joker send the shuttle to pick us up. I've had enough of this colony

I HATE that I can only have Ashley or Kaidan. I always choose to save Kaidan, but I really do like Ashley. She's just a well done character.



And they may have tried hard to get people to cheat, but I thought the picture scene was worth holding out for. It make me feel like what happened in ME1 mattered.



I'm totally cool with Ashley bikini shots, but dayam, those look like some big boobs in that one...! Where would she keep them in her armor?!?

I completely agree, on both counts. Regarding Virmire, and I hold no ill will towards Liara or her fans, but I wish it were possible to leave her behind on Virmire, too. It would have only been fair, since the other two LIs were also delegated for sacrifice. It almost made it seem like Liara was considered 'more important' than Ashley or Kaidan. Liara didn't have to be the only one who knew about Ilos (and frankly, given her relative youth, probably shouldn't have been). It just seems strange that she gets her own special storylines (scientist who helps Shepard discover the Conduit in ME1, information dealer who's after the Shadow Broker in ME2) while Ashley and Kaidan are basically copied and pasted with just a few minor dialogue changes.

Just finished my 2nd playthrough of ME2 last night. Watching Shep look at Ash's photo in his cabin before the trip through the relay made me feel once again that I (as Shep) had something not only to fight for personally, but also as more motivation to make it through the mission alive.



Now it's time for me to stop ME2 now until some major DLC comes out. Time to start counting the days until ME3. I'm tempted to try and write a fanfic of experience over both games. Don't know if I have the time or skill for that, but if I do, it will feature Ash heavily of course.



Ah, wish I had a time machine so I could play ME3 already lol

Just popping into this thread to show my support for Ashley. :-) She is a deep and passionate character who gets a lot of unfair flak.



The choice on Virmire is the most horrible moment in ME1. :-( Saved Ashley the first time, and a few other times, but haven't gotten past the tutorial level in ME2 with any of those imported ME1 characters. To be honest, the cookie-cutter approach that Bioware seems to be taking with Ashley and Kaidan, where each one behaves exactly as the other regardless of the fact that they have very different personalities, makes me feel like it's almost a waste of time to play my "alternative history" version of my canon FemShep (i.e. the one in which she saved Ashley rather than Kaidan). It'll just be her Kaidan ME2 playthrough minus the romance elements. Identical cutscenes and story purposes. Does anyone else feel this shortchanges Ashley and Kaidan a bit?



Anyway, sorry - I probably shouldn't be griping so much. :-) Here's looking forward to an expanded role for Ashley in ME3. :-)

With the complete annihilation of Liara by the replacement lead writer, Ash is now my sole #1 LI choice, instead of the tied #1.

I noticed people speculating about the end.

I always though it would be neat to tie the beginning of ME1 with the end of ME3. So do a new shot of the ME1 beginning, with Shepard and (insert LI here) looking at our lovely blue-green planet from the view port of a starship. Anderson can provide the narration once again, which would vary depending on the shape you left the universe in.

Hell, they can tie in the different colored planets/suns from the ME1 and ME2 endings too. Paragon ending is them viewing Earth, Renegade ending is them viewing the (now completely) human controlled Citadel.

When drawing, I find it easier to give detail to dark brown hair than black hair.  I imagine I'm not alone.

It's weird - it's almost as though you can't like multiple LI's and if you do, then clearly you aren't a fan of any of them.

True, true. Also, I think we have neighbouring spots in the gutter ...

But really, I don't see that as explaining it. Its like "I like Tali. Therefore, MIRANDA SUX!"; hell, I don't like Jack or Jacob (and I know you gals in the Kaidan thread don't like his ...erm....'active' romance (aka seedy)), but I don't decry them as 'suxing'

I'm actually an old time Ash fan from ever since my first playthrough, I just liked both her and the blue girl equally well, up to until poor Liara was destroyed as a character in the comic and (especially) in ME2.

We ME1 LI fans share the same plight, so it's only natural for us to get along. I hope.

Here's hoping Ash and Kaidan get more personalized roles in ME3! I'm sure the broad strokes will be similar, but the devs could at least write them different lines...

I've noticed some speculation on these boards that the ME2 and ME3 noobs might be given a chance to start the romance with Ash/Kaidan/Liara in ME3. While that would rise their status considerably, and guarantee a squad spot IMHO, it would probably unfortunately force us on the same already travelled path of starting and concluding the romance we already went through in ME1. By maintaining that forced tension between Shep and the ME1 LI.

Would be a slap in the face (another one) if the ME2 romances had the natural continuation from where they left off at the end of the second game, and ME1 LIs were forced to "restart" theirs', just because the noobs need to be catered to again.

So Bioware, just make the noobs a couple of new LIs, please? Don't halfass Ash and Kaidan again.
