Step away to do grunts loyalty quest and everything grinds to a halt.
I would love to go with Ash to meet the family. If they are like Ash, might be more than Shep can handle.

You sir have inspired me to continue my 3rd mass effect play through (last one I created a new char and romanced Tali but this one I will stay true to Ash... hopefully :D)

I am on my 4th play of ME2.
1st loyal to Ash.
2nd single jack
3rd single tali
4th loyal to Ash.  I have had many play throughs of ME1. 1st one Liara cause I thought that was what I was supposed to do. Every other one is Ash. I could not stay away if I tried. Cant help myself.  Ash

Your not alone there. Cant bring myself to have another LI even on another save lol. Ash just feels right for Shepard.

I tried jack and tali, not a cheat, shep had no LI. They were both done great, very touching, very interesting. As good as they were it felt hollow somewhat. Its not Ash. She is the one for my Shep. If she isn't Sheps LI in ME3, I am playing single. Very angry and very single.

Hahaha...that could be funny if you've been playing as a paragon the whole time and then went all renegade because you missed your woman.

I would be paragon to my crew, renegade to the rest of the galaxy. Tim dies either way, If I can help it.

Hi guys! Things seem to be slowly down somewhat on the Kaidan thread, so I thought I'd stop in again. Anyone care to combine our two favourite subjects and discuss how they think Kaidan and Ashley got along?

ETA my post from the Kaidan thread:

Ash: Kaidan got along very well with Ash, they're opposites who
complemented each other. They got along very well, though he was
intiially maybe a little disappointed by her more conservative views on
aliens and humanity's place in the galaxy. I don't think they would
really have had political debates or anything like that, since the
mission and being there for Shepard was the most important thing to
both of them, but especially if you paragonized her, he was probably
glad to see her change her views a little. She did him a world of good
by bringing him out of his shell and making him loosen up and relax
around people. I can see them as having had a sort of brother/sister
dynamic with lots of the teasing we get to see in-game sometimes. It
hurt him a lot to lose such a good friend in her on Virmire, especially
considering his developing relationship with Shep, but he's eventually
able to console himself with the knowledge that she was proud to give
her life for such an important cause and got to redeem her family's
honour, even though he misses her.

Ahaha, I'm lolling at this post, because it perfectly illustrates that oft-cited difference between men and women: my rambling paragraph vs. Liam's concise six words!

Can be true. I can ramble. I had almost post an huge amount of text about horizon, the current state of the relationship, what I wanted out of ME3. I deleted it thinking no one would want to read my rambling wall of word.

I do agree with them being buddies. She calls him LT. She nicknames people she likes. Calls shep skipper.
I see Kaiden as in a shell somewhat, thinks about things, works it out in his head.
Ash, works from the heart and emotions, she can put her foot in her mouth. I like that. Both seem to look out for Shep and each other. Would have been interesting if it wasn't for Virmire what would have been. Don't know about Kaidan. I think Ash likes the other crew but without Kaidan I don't think Ash has a real buddy. She needs someone to talk about Shep to. Would have been nice to see that all develope.

There, not alot, but more than a typical guy. But I do put the seat and the lid down. I am told I am not normal.:D

Sure crimsonrhodelia , drop a topic and run. Ok fine. :D
Topics like these make me think about the great characters bioware makes. I lot of talk about relationships, friendships, what was, what is, what could have been, what should have been, what will be. Some just like the combat and what not. They want easy ways to skip cut scenes and dialog to get back to the action. Me I sometimes want an easy way to skip combat to get back to those cut scenes and dialog. To get back to building those relationships. I always go to talk to Ash. No enough of that in ME2.

I had an interesting thought while watching a knights of the old republic video on youtube... Does Ashley remind anyone of Bastila? Both strong willed women, dark hair etc, there are many differences yes but you gotta admit some similaritys as well

Some big differences between the two. But some similarities ,  dark hair, strong personality, some times stick foot in mouth, fall for the saviour of the galaxy. :D
We could talk about Claudia Black / Aeryn Sun if you wanted to talk about strong willed dark haired women. But I guess that would be off topic. :)

True. But I had to find something close. I don't think Revan saved the/a citadel.

I agree completely with this. In the original ME I would always look forward to when a mission ended so that I could talk to my crew. In ME2 I just didn't get that excited about it. It could be because It was basically Shepard having to listen to their problems. The reason I liked ME was for the cutscenes and dialogue. They didn't  have enough for me here in ME2.

In ME1 I would always save game right before talking to Ash. That way I could go back and replay that conversation. Walking up on her while she was watching vid-mail from her sister talking about how cute shep was ,is one of my favorites.

If your staying faithful to Ash I say finish this playthrough. Then Start New ME1 playthrough romance Ash, import into ME2 stay faithful to Ash. Rinse and repeat. Notice a theme here?:D

That conversation was quite funny, although I remember thinking Sheperd sounded a little wierd when he said "Afraid I did" in that conversation

Anyway I'm off goodnight all

I can only hope that when Ash returns as a recruitable squadmate in ME3, that Bioware take what they learned from both the ME1 and ME2 romances and use that information to make the Ash/Shep romance in ME3 the best darn romance plotline in the history of videogames.

Ahhh of course I am staying loyal. I actually have tried to make a new character without the Ash romance but can't bring myself to do it yet. And ello Delta.

Oh and this is completely off topic, but if any of you know of a good book to read let me know. I trust all of your inputs. Sorry for randomness, school popped into my head.

Hi Ash lovers! Sorry for disappearing, I've spent all night waiting to finish the Shep-pic-as-DAO-character-portrait process.

Totally with the points you guys are making about ME2. I am really disappointed there isn't a proper friendship track for everyone. It's all "hey, do this for me" and then either "let's bang" or "I'm too busy to talk to you". And BW usually does dialogue so well, too! I saved before every convo with Kaidan to replay them whenever I wanted to, and I know I'm definitely not the only fangirl who did so. ^_^
