Really? I loved Grunt's eyes.

I was just so used to Wrexs red eyes, I like Grunt but it took awhile for me to get used to his eyes.

You know funny story, I had a similar story to that. I lost Miranda's loyalty because I sided with Jack during the confrontation. And the thing was I knew about the confrontation before hand and knew I would need a high paragon or renegade level. I figure however, that I should do Miranda's loyalty mission later in order to build up my points as much as possible. That obviously didn't work and so Miranda ended up spending like 80% of her time either nagging me to go to Ilium or complaining that I liked Jack more than her. I kept trying to go back and convince her to be loyal again, but I didn't seem to work, not matter how many paragon points I was able to find in the late stages of the game. So I was faced with the prospect of going into the suicide mission with an unloyal Miranda who I was certain would die. This wouldn't have bothered me so much if it wasn't for the emotional ending to her loyalty mission and the email from her sister. I searched for all the possible uncharted worlds I could still find. Noting got me those last few paragon points. That lasted quite a long time.
Just as I was about to just head into the mission and do what I could with what I had, I realized that if I retrained as a Champion instead of a Destroyer I automatically got a boost that gave me enough points to convince her. So Iwent and chose "Be the better woman" and Shepard kind says really kinda mean thing about Jack to her.

Apparently that was all it took, rather than trying to convince her to think of the mission instead of herself.

I liked Jack better than Miranda (despite the fact that Jack doesn't want to talk to me either anymore), so I got this image of the conversation going more like this:

Miranda: So taking Jack's side was just a front?
 
Shepard: Uh, yeah! That was what it was. Jack needs uh "specials attention", I can at least reason with you.
*rolls eyes*.

Anyway, it was a rather awkward conversation but I was happy
with my team and went into the mission and everyone survived even with a
disloyal Zaeed.

Afterward I went back and played the suicide mission without
getting her loyalty. Turns out I didn’t even need it.I think I'd have a Shepard that would probably get along with Miranda better on another playthrough. I started to like her by the end of the suicde mission though.

Huh, I guess I'm lucky. I've never had this problem. Ever. When I get there I just stroll in, pick the top left option and go on my way.
