That romance better happen. It better be different than the other also. It shouldn't act brand new. They have history.
I had this thought the other day. If Ashley is on your squad and if you have the new normandy. When you try to give her a room of her own, She stops you and says no,..... I'm bunking with you.

yes, there really needs to be references to their shared past. even newcomers that came in with ME2 know that Shepard and Ashley have worked together before. Theres no reason for not including that kind of dialogue or interaction.

and on top of that, depending on whether you romanced Ashley or not, their interaction should reflect that as well. we've actually already seen a bit of that with Horizon, as Ash/Kaidan's lines do alter somewhat if you romanced them in ME1, which was nice, but for ME3 I think the difference needs to be more dramatic.

It was written after WWI and has been adapted into two movies. Really, really excellent and quite a fast read. Of course for something that could probably hardly be any more different, anything by Terry Pratchett is absolutely brilliant!

I have had that same problem.  I actually started a new playthrough before ME2 came out with the intention of romancing Liara just to see how it was different....and I couldn't do it.  I couldn't say no to Ash.

As for books, I would recommend Angels & Demons by Dan Brown.  Don't bother with the movie.  The movie is utter ****** compared to the book.  The book is an excellent read.

Agreed. It should be more mature, more advanced, deeper than other relationships. Marriage? Talk of it? Bunking in sheps room? More PDOA? Talk of kids, talk of future? I don't really know. But I do believe the ME1 LI's ( Ash , Kaidan,Liara) if you stayed loyal and get back with them in ME3, that relationship should be much different than Me2 or brand new romances.

I know I have said it in here before, but I really hope they do not end the trilogy with a wedding.  I wouldn't be opposed with them mentioning it, but I just think it would be so cheesy to end the trilogy that way.  That has been done so many other times in movies and such.  I'd like to see Bioware come up with something more original.  Perhaps after you save the galaxy when you and Ash have a moment alone you get to have a conversation and proposing to Ash is one of the dialogue options.  That way you can end the game by proposing to her or expressing that the galaxy wouldn't be worth saving without her or something.  I just really don't want to see a wedding scene at the end.

However, just thought of this, if they do a wedding, I better be in control of what my Shep says at the altar.  Renegade Shep says no at the altar...heartbroken Ash kneecaps him with the hand cannon she had under her dress.

Rember the end of ME1 Shep talks to the council and walks off alone. Something like that but Ash walks with him. She asks shep what do you think of kids? Shep says What with you? She punches him. Lovingly punches him of course.

I know you're just throwing out ideas.  I'm just really opposed to the wedding idea.  If done right, I would have no problems with it being a dialogue option for us to choose.  As long as it is done right and, as you've said, we don't have to start over as if nothing happened between Shep and Ash in the first game then I am fine.  I honestly believe Bioware is better than to treat it as though there is no history between teh 2 characters.  Actually, the more we discuss it, the more laughable the idea of Bioware doing that becomes.  If you really think about it....they acknowledged it in ME2, so why would they start from scratch in ME3.

You guys are talking about not wanting the relationship to start over or have weddings. I just want to have her be a squadmate first. If this happens i trust they will handle everything else well.
