Problem with that is that I consider Ashley, Tali and Shepard all main characters.

I underestimated how much we actually got.



I am about 5 foot 8, maybe 5 9. We got about 3 feet of snow.



Place is a MESS right now. I got the back porch started but ive been on break for a few hours. Im really sore. Friends are coming tomorrow (God help them) So I might stay on break the rest of the night and use the extra hands tomorrow.

My Avatar is my attempt to make the fit dude from the DA:O gameplay trailers, Malcolm I believe he was called, pure coincidence that it's similar to Doug's. 

I keep trying to read fanfics but I have the attention span of a gnat at the minute.

It wasn't just Ashley. Both Kaiden's and Ashley's cameos were infuriating/heart-breaking for fans who had waited 2 years to see their LI's again. At least they didn't get it as bad as Liara though (for the record, I like ME2 Liara better than ME1 Liara, but can totally understand why fans of Liara in the first dislike her now)

Hehe, same here - keep trying to read more of Badpie and Sap's stuff, but between these threads and Dragon Age, not getting very far.

Hey, I have the attention span and committal to reading as a gnat right now too! Can I join the club? I'll work on my English accent. No? Okay. *waves a tiny UK flag anyway*

I remember spending many months tweaking and editing one headmorph for Dragon Age, heavily based on the trailer Grey Warden. Eventually he just took on a life of his own and I started changing him to suit that instead of frustratingly trying to make a liking of James Purefoy.

I hate Mass Effect because it makes me mad with how much SHOULD have been in ME2.



its making ME2 impossible to judge on its own merit. I want to give ME2 a ten, But the lack of Ashley....her reaction on Horizon(Yes, Understandable.)......So many things push the game down.



If I didnt buy ME1 for the second time, I would have given ME2 a ten. i have to stay with my original ruling of a 9.5

A bit longer answer: Yes, despite all to yack about how "compelling" the new LIs were, they didn't quite trust their pulling power enough. So they destroyed Liara's character utterly, and gave Ash and Kaidan short, angry cameos where Shepard wasn't allowed to properly defend him/herself.

This was supposed to be the "troubled 2nd act in a 3 act love story", devs' own words there. But it seems to me it's a bit hard to see there's a love story still going on... Let alone one angry cameo being a second act of such.

Even if the goal was to keep Ash and Shep separate, the devs could have done so much more. They have people like Joker and Chakwas on board. Give the player options to discuss Ash with them, since s/he can't talk to the LI directly. Or have the possibility to communicate with the LI by email or vid mail. The scene with the picture was nice, but far too little, far too late.

Just think, how cool would it have been to record a farewell message, in the same style as the speech you make when you gain control of the Normandy in ME1, with different options from angry to sad to calm acceptance? Everyone else in the squad has the opportunity to seek closure, why not Shepard?

So much lost potential in how they treated the ME1 LIs (and the Shepards in love with them). It boggles the mind.

Totally agree. As touching as the picture scene was, would it really have killed them for there to be a vid chat between the two saying how if he doesn't make it out alive....well, then she at least got closure this time. Bioware was CLEARLY pushing the new LI's onto new players and my friend who only played ME2, didn't understand how I could have liked Ashley at all. Understandable considering how the cameo played out

I think they knew how infuriating the cameo roles would be but they've done it on purpose, look how vocal the fanbases have got now, all of a sudden everyone is terrified that they won't get the closure they've been promised, what better way to get us all hooked for ME3? 

I think if they'd wanted to write them out we wouldn't have got the staring at the pic ending, Bioware know what they're doing and it makes me want to scream because I love them and hate them all at the same time for it!

ME1 crew should have been used much, much more in ME2. I found ME2 Liara interesting, you walk in she is threatning a guy using the same saying her mom used. ( Liara to self, think, think, gotta be scary, ....Oh I know use moms commando line)Turns to shep acts sweet. I love reading the threads that say , I know my ME2 love interest and crew are coming back bioware whouldn't have me spend all that time with them building up my squad just to take it away.  I was there 2 years ago.

Lol its so true. It is almost funny/sad in a way that they aren't aware of what Bioware can and cannot do. We were all positive that all ME1 squad mates would make a full return in glorious fashion and all our hopes and dreams would come to life. The Garrus and Tali fans were the only ones that were actually listened to, so let's see how many fans Bioware manages to ****** off for ME3
