I want your love interest in ME1 and your love interest in ME2 to come back and duke it out.  Ashley vs Jack will be a sick fight.

Those are the two women LEAST likely to succumb to a ridiculous catfight over Shepard.  10 to 1 both of them simply tell him  to shove off.

It's like Ash said in ME1.  "We're not married Shepard.  You wanna mess with her?  BE MY GUEST."

In fact the very idea that any of the female romantic interests would get into a catfight is just....well it's....ugh....that's really tacky and cliche.  No self respecting woman fights over a man.  They confront HIM and make him choose - just like in ME1.

Liara and Ash didn't do the whole "he's my man!  Stay away from  him!" thing.  They both did the mature and smart thing and were like "Shepard.  You got some explaining and choosing to do.  RIGHT NOW."

Obviously you don't understand Jack so well then.  Ashley is all about being mature, but Jack isn't.  She probably wouldn't care one way or the other, she'd just fight cause, why the hell not.

I only hit the screenshot key because she looked like that through the entire conversation, maybe the collectors are using extra large probes or something. :crying:

Ashley fans support this thread and maybe Bioware will make a dlc where you get to meet Ashley again after you have destroyed the collectors [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/grin.png[/smilie]

It's not just my game then, she's got one eye centred and the other to one side. I have exactly the same shot...

Anyway back on topic....

I quite like Ashley, she grew on me over the course of the game. The main reason I killed Kaidan Alenko is because he reminded me of Carth from KOTOR so he had to die just for that.

It's possible as bioware actually listens to what the fans want. Just look at all the changes in ME2 and you'll see alot of them were due to fan feedback :D

Her eyes always had trouble loading,,,"Might want to get that looked at, Williams, wouldn't want you to get blurry vision in a firefight." Eventually it was part of the charm =).

They improved this overall on a lot of characters in ME2, hope Ash (and Shepard!) get the same treatement for ME3.

Well i think Shepard got a massive improvement in me 2, and Ash still looks great how she is if you ask me.

I found Ashley to be very compelling in ME1. I appreciated that there was a tough, literate, unapologetic woman. She didn't offer to back off what she believed just because she was attracted to the PC, which I found realistic and attractive. And her interest in poetry and her family-oriented backstory were intriguing, too. I never pursued a romance with Liara, so I'm not qualified to say, but Liara seemed more like a little girl with a crush than like a mature woman.

I was bummed by the encounter with Ashley at Horizon in ME2 while it was happening, but I think it was well executed by the writers. Yes, she wrongly placed blame. Yes, she was cold and standoffish. But I found that to be realistic. Imagine that you were on a sinking ship with the person you love. You don't want to leave, but he or she pulls rank and orders you to, while going to save the last surviving crew member. You don't hear from him again, and he dies. No fun, right? You go through all kinds of trauma: survivor's guilt, anger at the person you loved, and finally, just as you're coming to accept things, it turns out that he's not dead, after all. Not only that, he hasn't tracked you down. WTF? And to top it all off, he's working for an organization that the two of you worked hard to shut down, an organization of war criminals conducting unethical experiments on sapient life. I'd be pissed, too.

What tied this together for me was her subsequent email, which was a pretty good apology. It's not how I would've liked to hear it, but it's not like she can walk down the street, knock on the door to the Normandy's airlock and pop in for a chat.

I actually find Ashley more compelling than either of the female human romances in ME2. Miranda has potential: she shows signs of a developing conscience (helping Taylor with his father, taking care of her sister, supporting Shepard's decision to destroy the Collector homeworld), and she has some fundamental things that I find compelling in a woman: she's very smart, she's independent, she's confident, and she fills a catsuit well. But she's got some serious drawbacks, too, including a strong strain of ruthlessness, some frankly terrifying daddy issues, and a checkered past.

And Jack? I haven't explored the romance option with her, but... well, I've dated the angry, troubled wild woman with authority issues type several times. It can be fun, but once it stops being fun it becomes absolutely awful.

Tali is the most compelling ME romantic interest I've seen so far. She's intelligent, she's independent, she's capable, and she's quick to defend the people she cares about. She's also got that awkward crush thing going when she inadvertently confesses her attraction to Shepard that's totally adorable. Sure, she has the whole girl-in-the-bubble problem, but that's a physical limitation, and way more workable to my mind than "I just broke out of the prison where I was serving time for killing thousands of people" or "I'll do whatever it takes to make sure old daddy can't get what he wants, and whatever it takes to make sure new daddy can."

Hell, I found Samara more compelling, and was genuinely disappointed when she pulled the "I'm flattered and interested but ultimately I've given my life to this calling and I'm not interested in a short-term fling." I thought that was well written.

I'm sorry but is it me or does her butt look pointy rather than curved in that picture? (yay for low polygon count :P)

Ash isn't the only one whose eyes in some sequences go weird, even Shep does in some. I never done a romance with Ash in ME (yet...) but I aim to rectify that when I have my ME marathon when the 3rd one comes out.
