Ah, the advantages of having a big hdd with no use for it. To top it off, I have a secondary drive for backup purposes. Unfortunately something happened to my saves after I reformatted and I ended up with the latest save just before Virmire . Ah well, I get to enjoy nuking Kaiden and seeing Ash again

Not cool Posted Image

I love Ash and Kaidan, I thought the survivours of Virmire were banding together? *sad puppy face*

Yeah, keep the Kaidan hate toned down matey we don't want to scare off our friendly Kaidan thread people too.

If it helps, there all hot ladies with dirty minds (And I can promise the second part is true).

Wow im impresssed with how much this thing moved. We were only at 116 last time I checked I think. Good to see it moving again and all the new support.

Well hello. It has move abit tonight. Lots of Ash Love. I have made it a bit a personal mission to talk to as many people as I can. Chat with the regulars and welcome the new people.
So I will probably be voted most obnoxious or Mr. congeniality. :)

I vote Mr.  congeniality!  (Hehe made me imagine your Shep avatar in a pair of pink heels a la Sandra Bullock *snort*)

While I can sit here and say that I understand the writing and blah blah the devs were messin with our heads, I still fail to see how "It's good to see you again." translates to a very casual "It's been too long, Ash. How have you been?"

Damn you Shepard and damn that foot in your mouth!

P.S. I still liked the scene, just joining the chorus of Kaidan/Ashley fans facepalming about that convo.

They made Shepard an awkward and lost for words idiot in all the ME1 LI reunion scenes.

I've come to the conclusion, that the actual damage was more to Shepard's character, than Ash or Kaidan.

There needs to be good, solid, drama (not melodrama) when Shepard meets with Ash again. This time, Bioware needs to remove that emotional block from Shepard. They have cinematic ambitions. They should follow through, and not resort to some half assed treatment just so the new LIs appear more enticing compared to the old.

I hate to be the person who defends the Devs but I actually see it happening, sure Shepard is a smooth, confident, badass who exudes charm and can talk anyone around whether it be with niceness or intimidation but here he/she is confronted with the woman/man they love, they have no idea what they've been up to , have they moved on, do they still care etc ........ Shep opens his/her mouth and all of those well thought out words turn to utter crap.

I do stuff like that all the time when confronted with stuff I actually care about, yes Shep is internally facepalming, but that's the point.

That's what I'm writing my fanfic about, although it's a femShep Kaidan one so doubt you folks would be all that interested.  But I thought it made a nice change for Shep to be such a dork in that situation or maybe it's just that I would be a dork in that situation, lol, I have no idea

The connection I feel between Ashley and Shepard is very similar to sitcom style television shows. You know the ones where two characters are meant to be together from the beginning, but things always get in the way, new love interests form, but by the end they end up together because that's the way it was meant to be. Best example I can give is Ross and Rachel from Friends (We were on a break! Lol)

That is weird. When i read the first sentence about the sitcom I instantly thought of friends as well. It does seem very similar with the whole break incident. Hopefully Shepard has a better line than "We were on a break" for those who decided not to be faithful.

We've had this same discussion in the Kaidan thread, I always get the image of Shep screaming 'We were on a break!' a la Ross.

The situation is deliberately ambiguous, and it's completely intentional, those of us who are dedicated to out ME1 LI read the e-mail as the relationship is there but on hold, but it can also be interpretted as we've broken up, leading to the miscommunication, 'How could you cheat on me?'

I think some players will genuinely turn around and say what?!  You totally broke up with me!

This topic has come up before in the thread, and I have to completely agree with how you see things.

Also, liked the Ross reference, heh.

But seriously, its an emotional, physical, and pyscological situation that isn't likely to start out well - I mean, how often do people come back from the dead? About the closest situation is people who where presumed death returning to their lives. In Shepards case, I doubt anyone held out hope that he was alive.

Exactly and then to suddenly be there and not be a zombie, what other explanations would you come up with?  Clone? Brought back from the dead? Been working with Cerberus for the last 2yrs, didn't even bother to contact gf/bf?  Which of those sounds more plausible?

Indeedie - as I've said before:

Williams: So, where were you these last two years?
Shepard: Dead
Williams: ....
Shepard: What?
Williams: You don't look dead.
Shepard: I got better.
Williams: .....
Shepard: What?
Williams: (loads shotgun)

Heh, I just read Badpie's All Clear fanfic and I love it. Even though my Shepard is quite different from hers, I enjoyed it and how it led up to the beginning of ME2.

Awh man, chill :( I was just joking. I like Kaiden enough that I call him 'K' while playing the game, like Ash calls him 'LT'.

Voted: but we're up against the tough competition of Miranda's ass in that tight suit.

It's neck and neck in that poll - 36 votes to 35 in favor of Miranda. Very close.

As to the whole Shepard being dead thing and Ashley's thoughts - I really hope they explore this in ME3.

Ashley has made no secret of her religious beliefs and because of this, I think out of all the squadmates, she would have the most trouble coming to terms with Shepard's 'rebirth.' The whole situation would be even more complicated if she were Shep's LI.

It probably won't happen - but I'd like a conversation between Shep and Ash where they discuss his rebirth. No-one seemed to care about it at all in ME2 - I don't think anyone even asked Shep how he felt about dying and being brought back. It would be a nice touch to have the LI's mention it, and if they do, I'd expect unique dialogue from Ash to take into account her religious beliefs.
