I've never very much liked the whole support thread thing to be honest... I mean sure it's great to have threads for characters you like but I feel as if it is dividing the community. It's like each support thread is it's own seperate clan. The members of the Tali clan (Tali-ban) keep peace with the Miranda clan (Miridians) but neither one dares to roam into the others thread lest all hell break loose. The Ash clan and Kaidan (Kaidanites) clan have long held a pact, but there is still a subtle rivalry among them. Then there is the Liara, Garrus, Samara, Thane and Jack clan... and perhaps even hints of the start of a Shiala clan. The last thing either wants is war.

I dislike that I basically have to "belong" to one of these clans or else I really have no sway on the forums... I have to belong somewhere or else people will not be interested in an in-depth discussion. Is it not possible for a person to like all or none of the squadmembers? It is dividing way the forum way too much IMO and is taking up the campaign quests and storylines forum which I would have thought would be reserved for actual questions about the story...

i like all the sqaudmates, but the simple fact is that everyone has there own oppion, not everybody likes the same thing, and some ppl feel the need too voice there oppions in a rude or uncaring manner (us ash fans know this prob more than anyother fan thread/group) therefore we cannot all go on too the same threads and disscus things openly with these typs of ppl therefor we make our own community where we feel safe in voicing our oppions in anymanner we see fit so as not too offend someone with a diff oppion of diff view.you have a nice ideal and in theory it SHOULD work but in practice it dosnt.there is no such thing as true unity.

I was just thinking if there is a possibility that ME3 could involve Ashley birthing my son/ daughter since she was my romance interest in ME1. Since the game doesn't have kids running around like Dragon Age Origins does...thought it would be an interesting turn of events for the final chapter.

Wait? What?  I don't want to be in a cold war.  You don't even get to fire your weapons in those things.  :crying:

Maybe she already had it.  It's been two years and she was pretty pissed on Horizon.

That would be interesting. Not sure if it's what I want but I bet several people here would love that.Posted Image

@chem - Yeah, I've had the same thought. It would serve to explain some of her comments ("I almost...") But, I can't see Bioware adding such a large plot element to the Ash/Shep story uniquely. It would be nearly impossible for them to write a kid into the femshep/Kaidan storyline, given femshep's death, unless a baby was left on Kaidan's doorstep.

I have a question for you all. Did you know that, according to a developer, Kaidan and Ashley were going to be bisexual options, but their same sex romance was cut due to time restraints? What do you think about that? Was just wondering how Kaidan and Ashley fans would think about this topic.

I'm glad that didn't make the final cut. I think it would be wrong for both characters, even just in terms of who they are, regardless of what my preference is.

I know femshep/maleshep had recorded dialogue for them, but I don't think we know why they cut it. IT could have been time constraints, or they ultimately could have decided just not to include it. Unless you have a link to a dev talking about it or something.

We've actuallly talked of this before. If they were bi to begin with it would be a-okay with me. To switch their sexuality around now would cheapen the characters though.

Baby's don't come from storks?

And, while I don't realisitcly expect it to happen, wouldn't mind the male Shep getting a different/extra scenario due to simple biological truths.

Besides, if you wanted to say femShep was pregnant, BioWare would probably be all mean and say Cerberus either killed it cause why spend money on that they just want Shepard, or kept it as collateral or something.

Also, don't get me started on why it would be wrong for them to suddenly go back and include this in ME3.:pinched:

Eh, this is a rather touchy subject with me.

I've seen this with my own eyes. The developer said something along the lines of "As far as I know, Kaidan and Ashley were intended to be bisexual but that was cut due to time restraints. I'm not absolutely certain but that I'm pretty sure." I can get you the link later - I'll need to dig around for it. But I did see it.

Gonna have to agree with Zuess.  Just doesn't seem in character.  Don't know why.

I agree completely. I wouldn't care if they were bisexual to begin with, but I dislike when people suggest that we should go back and change their sexualities.

Thanks, I've gotten some flak from people over this. Not in this thread though. It just seems wrong to redefine on a whim what in RL is part of a person's identity.

So have I. A lot. It's rather annoying.

I agree, changing their sexualities is the wrong idea. It would be as if their sexual orientations are light switches. IRL orientation is not really like that at all.

Agree with what's been said already - I probably wouldn't have seen it fitting the characters originally, but if the devs ran with it from the beginning, I would not have had a problem with it. But, since they made a decision to exclude the same-sex option, going back and adding it later would seem a cop-out, IMO.

It seems consensus has been achieved.
