Ashley is absolutely flat. She's one of the poorest characters ever designed by Bioware. In the attepmt to make her a "fiery, self confident woman" they went overboard and managed to turn her into a barking dog. Even her (few) emotional moments were just awkward as a result.
Honestly the fact that her role in ME2 was negligible was good riddance. Hopefully she will have an equally secondary role in ME3.
My thoughts exactly. Why do "confident" women always have to be portrayed as ****es.

Look i respect your opinion (though i thoroughly disagree with it). But some of us actually like Ash. Why? Because a) she has flaws that make her a believable character

Because a) she has flaws that make her a believable charactershe is a strong woman that has fought for a place in the alliance even though she is blacklisted c) The developers didn't turn her into a sex toy to be shown off with many convieniently placed camera angles(I won't mention any names) and d) Awkwardness is always present in love.Thats what makes Tali so adorable (see her 5000 page forum).
Well you cannot please everyone, lucky for them bioware made some Eye and Kid candy in ME2

She is pretty awesome if you take your time to understand her point of view and history. Her support thread is very enjoyable too.
But Ash is still #1.

Miranda might be eye candy when you first see her, but there is much more to her than that.

I didn't mean she isn't a good character. It's the developers fault for showing her off like that. It takes the realism out of it for me

A character who at face value is easily written off as being one thing, but if you look closer and take time to get to know them properly, it turns out there is alot more to them and they much deeper than people give them credit for.
Sound familiar?

Personally I really like Miranda, and I would have thought that Ash fans would be the people most likely to understand and appreciate Miranda's character.

I can't get past her face or the way she dresses. Sorry. I don't dislike her, but I just can't like her. And I've tried.

I think the thing that bugs me most about Miranda is that you see a real change in her character as she warms up to Shep... and then during the final mission at the Collector base, she's back to being kind of over-confident, smug, and if you listen to her, you get a member of your team killed. I think she's a great character, it's just that little 180 at the end rubs me the wrong way.
i don't remember this...what does she say and where ?

what do you mean??? at the end is where i think her charecter shines the most, when you get ready too go she says shes impressed and actually salutes you (something she dose not do in the beging out of a lack of respect for you) and if you pick her too lead the 2nd fire team she salutes you again and says she wont let you down and leads the seacond team well (the only other who can do that is garrus) and if you take her too fight the human reaper and decided to destroy the base she takes shep's side over the illusive man.SilverRose208 wrote...

Yeah, that's true. I dunno. Something about it just rubbed me the wrong way. You did raise some good points earlier. Admittedly, I've only actually finished ME2 once, and I had forgotten about the salute(s).

I do like Ashley at least a little more than Miranda. Miranda's more morally ambiguous than Ash is.
