To be fair, Russel Crowe is freaking awesome and most of the acting is good.  But Riddley just does not know the history and thought of the middle ages like he CLAIMS to do.  When I saw how he represented Friar Tuck / pretty much all of Christianity / the Maid Marian in freaking armor / and knighthood in general... My reactions throughout the movie went:  ^_^:unsure::blink::crying:

God I hate how Hollywood intrprets history.

He also loosely interpreted history with Gladiator... but that movie was just so incredible that no one cared.  He probably expected to get away with it again.

THIS!!

Gladiator was so good that I managd to forgive him for Kingdom of Heaven... I just kinda chalked it up to its a sign of the times.  But with Robin Hood his good graces form Gladiator are gone.

Sorry, Im a movie nut, I go every week :P

Kingdom of Heaven: Director's Cut isn't half bad, actually, if you haven't seen it. The theatrical version is just a big pile of fail. Might rival Beowulf in that department.

I haven't seen the movie so i won't say anything about that. but i think historical accuracy is a bit overrated in movies. Some of my favorite films like Braveheart, Gangs of New York, and 300 weren't historically accurate. As long as the plot is good i will suspend disbelief.

(Although, the saving privat ryan scene they put in there was stupid.)

True entertainment and suspencion of disbelief are important, but its hard to watch a well known character have motivations and a lifstyle that would be completely contrary to why thy dod the things they do.  Again, I think its all so that a "modern" audience can releate to them.  It just bugs me.

I'm back, I had to take a phone call.

I love a lot of historical fiction movies but Gladiator's presentation of Marcus Aurelius has always bugged me a bit. Great movie otherwise though.

If nobody else will, I can give it a shot. But, I'm also a cold-hearted b*tch when it comes to proofing and will cackle with glee whilst wielding my red pen of doom. Not gonna lie - I once made a kid cry when I was a peer editor in college.
