Interesting to see how the ME story would playout if Ash had never been pushed out the way, would she of got more recognition in the end of the game and maybe affect ME2 in small ways like higher rank perhaps leading to a different story of what might of been going on in the 2 years since.

She probably would have died, then saren would had traveled through the conduit un opposed opening the citadel relay for the reapers. All life in the galaxy enslaved/killed.

Absolutely. Everything leading up to Eden Prime was, for the most part, standard BioWare fare (and I mean that in a good way). But then Shepard, Ashley, and Kaidan reached the beacon, and the awesomeness jumped right up to 11. That was the first time in ME1 where I really sat up in my seat and thought, "Ooo, now that's interesting..."

And I still miss Kaidan. He and Ashley were my Shepard's closest friends and companions on the SR1, and the three of them made an excellent team together. It really sucks that we had to choose between the two of them on Virmire.
